Morning Everyone,
Thanks for the recommendation Monnagran, I had a quick look online and the Ninj@ appears to get the best review on the Good Housekeeping Institute, but it looks HUGE and although I do eat a lot of soup and like to have a few portions in the freezer I think I’ll look for something a bit smaller.
Just had a boiled egg and toast for breakfast, not sure about lunch yet and I’ll do fish of some kind for tea - I forgot to label freezer stock so not sure if its a smoked or unsmoked haddock
Apart from a couple of brisk walks I haven't been out of the house since last Tues, we do have a yellow weather warning of ice but I'll go stir-crazy if I don't go out and see another human being.
Take care

Hi I finally did my post holls weigh in and it's not as bad as it could be, on the other hand I am where I was in November, and I now need to crack the next few lb to get into fresh territory.
@brambling please adjust my goal to 10LB as that should do the trick.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Morning all! Another soup maker fan here - it's probably my most used kitchen gadget and I'm thankful that my parents bought it for me as a Christmas present almost 8 years ago. I found that the chunky setting on mine doesn't actually blend the soup, just leaves the veg at the same size that you chopped it as where as with the smooth setting I don't have to worry about what size I chop things too, just as long as they fit in the pot. I find mushroom soup doesn't fare very well in mine because it kind of overcooks the mushrooms and you end up with literally no soup at the end of it so I prefer to cook that one on the stove but other than that I just chuck everything in and wait 20 minutes. I find the Good Food versatile vegetable soup recipe is a good base for a vegetable soup that you can adapt with whatever you may have in.

I've just got into soup making and may have a look at a soup maker. My problem is the amount of bread, always have a couple if chunky slices of bread with my soup - going to try and just have soup. I do make thick soups- any ideas on reducing bread consumption generally? Would then reduce butter/ marg!7

Morning All,
Well, day 1 went well...
I woke up late, unthinkingly grabbed a biscuit to go with my first coffee and was half way through my second (somehow without a biscuit that time) before I remembered that I was meant to have weighed myself. Oops!! I'd like the say that I improved after that but first day back at work grumps / lockdown announcements left me in a bit of a "why bother" mood.
Thank you all for the soup talk. I've got a load of parsnips leftover from Christmas so that would be a good way to use them up. TC77, I don't know if it's any better than bread but have you tried crackers? I'm weird in that I don't like buttered bread with soup but even my husband, who has a bit of bread with his butter, likes dry crackers with soup.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx8
