Hello All Happy New Year 🥳
I'm so sorry I disappeared for the last part of the year, I completely fell of the wagon, and no amount of trying could get my chubby self back in it.
So here I am shuffling in and hoping for a fresh start, could I try for a gentle 10lb to start with please, thank you so much, I shall start Monday as that's when I'm back to work xx
welcome back Sirens.  Would that be the wagon that lost all its wheels and burst into flames?  I've got one of those and I keep looking at it doubtfully and wondering how it will be to clamber back onto it.

I'm going to try something new this quarter.  If it works and I meet my modest challenge, I will let you know how I did it.
In the unbelievably unlikely event of it not working, I will make my excuses.

Newbies, should you ever find that in spite of your impeccable adherence to your diet, your incredible self control and your pure-as-the-undriven-snow conscience, you seem to have put on what you intended to lose, I'm your woman.
I have a whole basket of interesting and totally believable ready-made excuses.  On application and the payment of eye-watering amounts of dosh, I will send you one in a brown envelope.
    Can't say fairer than that.
That the one Monnagran, I'm tthinking of painting it bright pink in the hopes I don't loose sight of it again, I'm keeping everything crossed for you x

Right.  You didn't ask for it, but you are getting it anyway.

'Twas the week after Christmas, and all through the house
Nothing would fit me, not even a blouse.
The cookies I'd nibble, the eggnog I'd taste,
All the holiday parties, had gone to my waist.
When I got on the scales there arose such a number!
When I'd walk to the shops (less a walk, more a lumber)
    I'd remember the marvellous meals I'd prepared;
The gravies and sauces and beef nicely reared,
The wine and the rumballs, the bread and the cheese
And the way that I'd never said, "No," just "Yes please."
As I dressed myself In my husband's old shirt
And prepared once again to do battle with dirt......
I said to myself, as only I can
"You can't spend the winter disguised as a man."
So...........away with the last of the sour cream dip.
Get rid of the fruit cake, every cracker and chip.
Every last bit of food that I like must be banished
Till all the additional ounces have vanished.
    I won't have a cookie, not even a lick.
I'll want only to chew on a celery stick.
I won't have hot crumpets, or tea cakes or pie,
I'll munch on a carrot and quietly cry,
"I'm hungry.  I'm lonesome and life is a bore."
But isn't that what January is for?
Unable to giggle, no longer a riot.
Happy New Year, and to all  -  a good diet.
What a lovely poem monnagran - and it’s gone viral on the internet because someone posted it on my FB page a few days ago!
