Oh dear Brambling, my damage limitation control didn't work and I jumped on the scales this morning to 12 stone 10.5 lbs. Its a wake up call as I was down to almost 12 stone at one point in 2020. My target this quarter is to get down to 12 stone, so could you please put me down for an 11 lb loss for Q1 2021. Still, I have enjoyed xmas and have been really relaxed and am now ready to tackle this next stage of my weight loss.

Hi all, I'd love to join in your challenge for the quarter. I've been a long term (on and off) SW follower and still post over on that thread on the Health and Beauty board but I could do with all the support I can get! I'm currently not really "following" SW but aiming to make good choices and regularly exercise and just be consistent with it (my word of the year). Can I put down a target of 7lbs Brambling? Think I could do more as I'm aiming for 1lb a week but again, don't want to pressure myself.

Thanks for the welcome Brambling. If you want to get rid of some food, you can always download the Olio app and list them on there for people to collect.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20177

Afternoon All,
Brambling - thanks for correcting the list it’s much appreciated. I am also curious about your soupmaker and whether the soup tastes as good as that which is made on the stove top. The reason I ask is many years ago I tried making soup in a pressure cooker, same recipe/ingredients, but found although quicker it didn’t taste as good - maybe its just an acquired taste.
Food-wise I’ve been okay for the past few days but because of the sheet ice on the pavements and roads I haven't been motivated to get out for any exercise. To be honest I was feeling a bit depressed but I wont let today's statement from Ms Sturgeon get me down I am determined to get a few miles under my belt before the end of the week.

Need2bthrifty it probably won't be the first time someone will have to ask me to correct the chart
I've only used the soup maker twice and both times for smooth soup and it's tasted the same as my saucepan and stick blender soups do, I haven't tried it with a more chunky soup yet. It does make a smoother soup than my stick blender. Mine doesn't have a saute option but as I'm trying to count calories it's unusual for me to fry off onions etc. NB luckily you can open the lid if you forget any ingredients just as well as i did notice the stock cubes after i had started it.
I fear Boris will probably bring England in line with Scotland tonight, although as we've been T4 since boxing day I'm not sure if we will notice the difference. No snow down in the SE but it has been very wetLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin8 -
Thanks Brambling I may just treat myself to a soupmaker - I won £60ish on the lottery a few weeks ago so it will be a belated christmas present to myself

Need2bthrifty, I bought a soup-maker recently. I'd put it off for ages as I thought it would be just one of those gadgets that that take up too much room in a cupboard. I bought the compact one as I live alone and it was the cheapest.
I use it all the time so it hardly sees the inside of the cupboard. It makes 1x1/2 litres and I prefer smooth soup so that is what I make, mostly using bottom of the fridge stuff. I love it. If the soup seems a bit bland I stir in a spoonful of pesto, mint sauce or horseradish sauce which cheers it up a lot.

Thank you for the welcome back Brambling, there's so much useful info and support here.
I hadn't heard of the Olio App but will download it later. I also made soup yesterday as I picked up some free parsnips earlier in the week. Roasted parsnips, onion and garlic for 30 mins with some spices, then whizzed it up with stock - recipe from good food website. Very tasty and lovely because it was all store cupboard stuff and enough for leftovers tonight. Going to do a meal plan and shop for the week tomorrow so that I don't have temptation to raid the cupboards or pick through the day."Think of many things, do one"
