The fish turned out to be a smoked haddock so had it quite simply poached in milk and served with some green veg and an oatcake - lovely.
Monnogram - the M R soup maker was the one I was thinking of and I could probably get it click & collect from an nearby @rgos.
Roblou27, I hope there isn't any lasting injury from your Bambi imitation this morning. I discovered we have the same problem here when I got the car out of my drive, but managed to safely get to the park for a nice brisk walk - its just a couple of miles but at least I’m moving.
I haven't been shopping since the 29th Dec so needed some fresh stuff and the nearest was Sainsbugs - it was 11.30am and OMG it looked as though it had been raided, I walked around the F&V section not quite believing what I was seeing then another gob-smacked look came on my face when the only fizzy water available was that expensive italian one - eek!! - All I can say is - A POX ON ALL THOSE PANIC BUYERS AND I HOPE THE PRODUCE ROTS IN YOUR DRAWERS !!#@~<%$>!!
so annoying about the shop but you did make me laugh out loud at your hex on panic buyers. 🤣‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh6 -

Izadora said:Morning All,
Well, day 1 went well...
I woke up late, unthinkingly grabbed a biscuit to go with my first coffee and was half way through my second (somehow without a biscuit that time) before I remembered that I was meant to have weighed myself. Oops!! I'd like the say that I improved after that but first day back at work grumps / lockdown announcements left me in a bit of a "why bother" mood.
Thank you all for the soup talk. I've got a load of parsnips leftover from Christmas so that would be a good way to use them up. TC77, I don't know if it's any better than bread but have you tried crackers? I'm weird in that I don't like buttered bread with soup but even my husband, who has a bit of bread with his butter, likes dry crackers with soup.
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx
If you are looking for a parsnip soup recipe, I used the good food spicy one. You roast parsnips, onion and garlic with spices and oil, then whizz it all up with hot stock. It was very tasty and we were nibbling on the roasted parsnips as well."Think of many things, do one"

Good morning, All!
Thank you for your kind welcome, Brambling and Monna. It’s good to be back. Looking forward to a bit of sparring with you, Monna!
Still on a hybrid of diet and using up festive foods, but I’m not too worried today as it’s Twelfth Night/Epiphany so it’s still feasting time
Today’s plan:
B : boiled egg, 2 slices of soda bread with butter, 1 teaspoon of hm damson jam
L : duck breast, peas, sprout greens, celeriac; ice cream with cherries
S : the last mince pie (hm) with the last of the dessert wine (to be eaten ceremonially while taking down the Xmas decs!)
D : cheese, celery, walnuts; cinnamon yogurt

Good morning everyone
Lovely to see so many people joining this challenge, may all the pounds drop off quicklyI woke up with a headache and runny nose so I will be spending most of the day tucked up in the warm. My husband is in charge of the kitchen today so at least I don't have to think about what to cook.
My menu today is:
b - porridge and a banana
l - bacon sandwiches
d - cottage pie and all the veg I can fit on my plate
s - not sure yet, still have plenty of fruit
Hope you al have a brilliant day and make great choices. Take care xx7 -
Morning All,
Its baltic out there so I wont be venturing out today, instead I’ll get a bit ‘crafty’ and make some votive candles. I either need to cook or freeze stuff namely stilton, leeks and bacon, after Dumpling mentioned it I had hoped to make some broccoli and stilton soup but there was no broccoli or cauli to be had in Sainsbobs yesterday, although I'm reluctant to do pastry I might end up doing a quiche.
Todays meal plan -
B - cinnamon porridge with stewed apples
L - “part-baked roll pizza” just a roll split in half smeared with chilli pesto, sliced tomatoes and some fresh mozzarella then baked. Fruit for afters.
D - hm meatloaf, mashed potato and peas.

Please can you put me down for 10lbs this quarter?6 -
Morning all. It's a 2 coffee kind of morning already. Still haven't managed to do any exercise this year but it will come I'm sure once I've got my head around just everything that's happening right now.

Managed to get a 20mins run in this morning. Wet and dreary but at least no ice. I am having trouble staying on plan but have decided just to keep going and do the best I can on a daily basis.
b - dippy eggs and toast
d - cheese and chutney roll and a few lentil curls
t - shepherds pie, cabbage, green beans, sprouts
SW bar, couple of rich tea biccies
Popped to a local stall outside an orchard owners property and got a couple of bags of of my favourite Opal apples. You very rarely see them in the shops and I know the weather can affect the crop so very happy. Also picked up some Conference pears and some Bramleys.......
have a good day all.‘It never hurts to keep looking for sunshine’ - Winnie the Pooh6
