I've actual contacted my gp, she rang today, they are thinking about sending mr to Luton and dunstable ( I am in Norfolk) to refer to for weight loss surgery. I KNOW that is NO way an easy rd. I've done 12 months of weight management-at my local hospital. But gained it all ( and more ) again.

Jules, sweetheart, you are in the right place here. I'm willing to bet that there isn't one person in this motley gang who DOESN'T have a messy head. It's a sort of passport here. You have obviously been through the mill and it is time for you to relax, enjoy the company of others, have a bit of a laugh and take each day as it comes.
ditty, you are in danger of becoming teacher's pet! Well done though. You are an inspiration to us all.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Morning All,
Jules - welcome to the group and, as others have said, breaking it down into smaller chunks sounds like a good idea. I know that I cope better with smaller targets but tend to panic (and then stuff my face with everything I can find) if I focus on the total amount I need to lose. Please don't ever feel like you need to apologise for anything going on in your head, if you're having any wobbles you can dump them on us. We're a pretty tough lot and can take it
Sezza Well done on the loss and yes, cancelling weekends would definitely make dieting easier.
roblou How are your husband and DF doing now?
Frith Good luck with ignoring the treacle sponge.
ditty Well done on the loss and you deserve to gloat for running two nights in a row. I'm with you on struggling to find motivation with working from home. I keep trying to remind myself that it's a lot better than having to commute but I still find it hard.
Sirens Well done on the loss and good luck with getting the batch cooking done for work lunches.
Brambling It's not good that they're expecting you to work late. It doesn't matter that you can't really go anywhere or do anything, it's still your time and you should be able to do whatever you want with it. I hope you manage to get your walk in at the weekend.
Well, it's all pretty much same old here and it's reached the stage where going to a different supermarket now counts as exciting
I've been mostly eating well but I have noticed that I'm reaching for chocolate out of boredom a bit more than I should so need to try to stop that before I get back into the habit of picking at it each time I pass the cupboard. It's really hard though because things are seeming very dull and never-ending at the moment and, no matter how annoyed with myself I know I'll be afterwards, it makes me happy at the time.
I've got a long weekend, I booked Monday off as have carried-over leave to use by the end of next month, and I'm not sure whether I'm looking forward to it or worrying about how to fill more time. As much as I don't enjoy work it is useful at taking up a large chunk of the day
Best of luck and stay safe everyone xx7 -
Good morning all,
Checking in with a 1.5 lb loss this week. The gallstone is still letting me know that it's there every now and then but I'm coping.
Take care all of you8 -
This thread is really lovely today, what I like about it is that it is about the long haul, the balancing, the everyday inching. It really is working for me, and for my head. So I'm enjoying the sun this morning and I don't really talk to anybody face to face, which makes this tread even more important! Thanks Brambling for keeping it going.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Don’t feel as though I’ve lost much weight this week but will weigh on Monday9 -
Well all went a bit pear shaped today, mad rushed dinner of toad in the hole and 2 doughnuts! Had to ferry dd's poor cat to the vets as she wasn't eating and has lost loads of weight in the last couple of days (she's slim fit at the best of times) turns out she has a gum infection and has to have some teeth out, £80 for that and some antibiotics and op for the teeth will be a further £800 odd 😮

Good morning everyone
I weighed myself this morning and I have lost 5lb over the past couple of weeks. Honestly I don't know how as my diet has been appalling. I am not trying to show off or anything, in fact I am a bit concerned that my diabetes is behind this. Anyway, after yet another sleepless night I am resolved once again to get a grip and eat much more healthier food.
I have been quite manic for the past few days but have calmed down now. I have filled a bin with my sweets and chocolates and I am trying to find out more about reducing my carbs and increasing my protein as well as upping my veggie intake. I don't want to go down the route of a veggie diet as I love my meat and fish but I am certainly open to having veggie days in each week.
I have also come to the conclusion that I am going to have to cook most of my meals separately from the rest of the family if I want to do it properly. Unfortunately I am going to struggle a bit this week as we don't get our shopping delivered till next Friday and we are a bit light on healthier foods as I was in a can't be bothered mood the last time I ordered the shopping. If you are still awake after reading all this then thank you and I hope you have a great day xx9 -
Dumpling, you are at a disadvantage having to cook for a family. At least when you live on your own you have the choice not to let sweet treats over the threshold. It's much harder when you have to cater for a family. You did well to lose anything at all.
Sirens, ouch, ouch, ouch to the vet's bills. I was going to suggest a bread and water diet, but perhaps you'd better make that crispbread and water.
I'm posting a loss of 1lb, please Brambling. Very pleased with myself. Getting really good at distinguishing between mouth-hunger and tummy-hunger.I believe that friends are quiet angels
