Today I am grateful for a lovely day teaching, for dd pottering along ( she is quite under the weather and not doing school for a day or two), for yummy food (not chippy tea unfortunately), for the beauty of the morning frost, for hot water.

Another NSD. Chopped up lots of veg then put it all in mum's biggest pan with handfuls of lentils and barley and some diced chicken that had been cooked and frozen. Chopped more veg and cooked it in the oven with brisket this afternoon. Squeezed in 10 baked potatoes and a pudding basin full of pasta bake (made the pasta bake last week in a big dish - this was the leftovers that didn't fit in the big dish) in the small oven. Stew was yummy, so were the baked potatoes (just had a small slice each of the brisket, will be our main meal tomorrow). All the food was just right for the weather, it snowed again overnight and it is icy cold. Waited until mid afternoon when it was safe to go outside the door (yard is still covered). Pulled a load of cans out of the recycling bin and stomped on them to fit more in (will go out for its 3 weekly collection tomorrow). More recycling collected and put in various bins - I can see patches of space.
Today I am grateful for my bed and many layers of bedding, for lovely hot food, for a silly serial I am watching (silly but fun - I was having trouble concentrating on the more serious things I have watched).

Monday- NSD 16.
I am wishing winter away- fed up of cold and rain (I really do live in the wrong part of the world!). Nothing going on other than work/sort animals/sleep/repeat!
Grateful today for meal plan for the week working well, DDs music practice starting to sound more "musical", having time to sit and watch an episode of a series I recorded a couple of months ago.

Mothernerd, I was thinking the same thing, about next month. Am happy to seek inspiration (tho it may be a bit like seeking the scarlett pimpernel!) and set one up. Equally happy for someone else to do it, give you a break from me! and I'll jump back in for March...

okay. I'll do it. I have half an idea but want to work on it so it doesn't get too 'preachy'. Based on a series of small embroidery pieces called 'Little sheep virtues' (Hope, Peace, Wisdom, Kindness etc - 12 of them) but maybe do them with a twist, like this I read and wrote down the other day.
"Can I say something about being 'kind'? True kindness isn't smiling, appeasing and not causing a bother. True kindness is sticking your neck out and calling out injustice. It doesn't make you popular. But it does make you kind. be furiously, ruthlessly kind."
Dr Julia Grace Patterson.
And lots of 'F' s of course - fun, fabulous, frosty, furious, fantastic, frugal, fizzing. Will have a go later on, my main task today is to get myself to the infirmary and back for my blood tests, without falling. Would like to put some money in the bank but it's so cold and thinking I will wear as few clothes as possible (joggers, short sleeve tunic and a light cardigan) to make getting at my arm easy and not having piles of stuff to hold onto (and less to wash when I get home). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage5 -
So many new posts, I am so excited am waiting for a call with an advisor from a new masters I am applying for. It will start in April if I get the funding and everything works out. It will put me back in a cultural industry where I already have over 10 years of experience. By going back to basics I hope to get a great excuse to apply for jobs and hopefully will be able to take on a reasonable amount of responsibility fairly quickly. Fingers crossed that I will get a student loan, and that they will accept me. Fingers crossed my life will continue to change and be exciting here in the middle of my 5th decade. Grateful for all opportunities - big and small.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Thank you Mothernerd.Chippy tea I either like Dandelion and Burdock can as a treat as never drink fizzy drinks or settle for a cup of tea, with bread for butties.Yesterday paid Electrician £200 but for all the jobs he did, he supplied all the fittings thought it was reasonable. I have cooker hood half fitted but need a reducer to finish it off. So quiet doesn't make my house shake, my neighbour will be relieved.Feeling a bit down and lonely today so treated myself to some strawberries to pretend it's summer. Just had enough of snow, ice and this morning the rain was freezing on top of the snow so slippery.Grateful forFriend dropping off couple coats in my porch to see if I want them?Electrician dealing with a false widow spider that had nested in my old cooker hood, he was as scared as me of spiders!Thawing out in town now, just hope its like this when I get home.
