@Miró - how nice to hear that you're "tottering along" and congratters on your find which sounds eminently stylish.
@balabooberlies - thankyou for the encouragement, your thoughtfulness is much appreciated.
Here, just before I slope off to bed, is the pan after its second and third cleanings.
It's come up a treat and I plan to christen it tomorrow lunchtime.8 -
Absolutely brilliant goldfinches 👏 Not sure I would have bought a dirty pan but you have proved that it is worth it 🙂Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £379.00

Last four weeks have been crazy. Full details pending in m debt free diary, link below if you're nosey!
Slight hitch with that official school coat I found for DS, CS labelled it age 4-5, which is pushing it for my tall, soon to be 5yr old anyway but when going to label it with his name stamp, I found the actuall inside label, in a pocket (reversible style) and it's actually an age 3-4...
SO, think I'll be offering that to another mum with a smaller child and getting a new one. Funds won't be an issue in a couple of weeks, again, see diary for info.

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, @DigForVictory and @Miró - thankyou for your kind words, I must give most of the credit to Barkeeper's Friend and own brand stainless steel scouring pads but the elbow grease was all my own!
@Lucy5781 - very annoying when things are wrongly labelled isn't it. Are you able to return it to the shop? A majority of my local chazzas offer returns for refunds on clothing now that it isn't possible to have a fitting room and some even say that you can return purchases to any of their branches which I think is really helpful.

Had a little womble around the local charity shops yesterday. Found an M & S moss green T-shirt for 99p and a 3 pack of white socks for £1. Then in the Cancer Research shop I saw a b/n pair of dark navy Jaegar jeans....lovely quality and just the fit I like but were priced at £14.99, (tags still attached with original price of £99 and sale price of £49 tho). Couldn't decide if they were worth that to me so I wandered about the town thinking about it and eventually went back and got them! Told myself I should be buying quality not quantity....(we will see how long that lasts!!) Turned out to be a great fit too!9

@Rosa_Damascena - just had a bit of a fiddle faddle to get signed back in so sorry I'm late but I'm here to report on both yesterday's and today's forays now.
Yesterday after meeting a friend at lunchtime for what turned out to be a rather wet walk outdoors I decided to walk on and visit some chazzas.
First the Age UK shop where I found a ceramic egg separator, a lovely small TG Green pudding bowl and a plastic cake slice which won't scratch my lovely non-stick tins. Then on to the Oxfam shop where I found a silicon ice cube tray with fish shapes, a glass storage jar, a mason jar fermenting starter kit and a cook book on bread along with one on batch cooking.
This afternoon I walked to the rather smart suburb near my old school and called in to the Scope shop where I bought an oval Pyrex dish with a lid, Dan Lepard's Short and Sweet baking book and an as new pair of wonderfully comfortable Fitflops ballet flats in a lovely dark plummy red with black toes. Then in the local hospice shop I bought a Land's End rugby shirt in nice bright red and dark pink stripes, Delia's Kitchen Garden book and a Persephone edition of How to Run Your Home Without Help by Kay Smallshaw. Then across the road in the Oxfam shop I bought a compilation cd and 2 very pretty framed original watercolours of Cornish scenes.
Here are most of my finds, the colour of the shoes hasn't come out very well but you can see why I think that they have never been worn. The soles are equally pristine too. I'm not expecting great things from the egg separator but it did seem plausible that it might work well so I shall give it a try and report back. I do so dislike separating them with my fingers and pouring them from half shell to half shell always feels fraught to me.
These are the watercolours both signed by the artist, Elizabeth Parr and dated 1990; they were both priced at £9.99 which seems incredible value for original paintings that have been professionally framed and glazed.
Here's the rugby shirt and yesterday's cook book finds. The batch cooking one is organised around spending two hours on Sunday to pre-prep a week's evening meals and then doubling up to provide a cold lunch the following day so I'm looking forward to reading it."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."
