Pay it into a bank - if they question it, say it came from your allocation at whichever cashpoint it was 😉Miró said:
Nope...she said I would still be able to use it elsewhere but that they had been told by their boss not to take them in store when the ink appeared to have been 'rubbed off'. ( It is just a teeny tiny patch of a few pinpricks in size). She said it had probably come from a 'faulty batch'. Really dunno what to make of it....I would feel dead guilty trying to pass it off in another shop now.Floss said:@Miró hope your S/A checked your note with a scanner if she didn't like it?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Stourport-On-Severn today.
Went to the animal rescue shop opposite the Coop. I don’t usually bother as it is such a mess and there is nowhere to put anything down while you pay.

Did a bit of research into wonky banknotes online and it seems it is a common thing for ink to rub off but the notes are genuine...sooooo.....I handed it over in another charity shop today, (insert red faced smiley here), where it was taken with no problems at all. Could not believe my luck in the 99p St Gemma's Hospice shop today. First find was a navy military stylee coat with loads, (18!) of gold crested buttons. It was labelled as being 'extra large' but giving it a good squiz I decided it was no way XL. I carried it round with me whilst I decided wot to do, (I've learned my lesson on this malarkey). Eventually told myself that the buttons alone were worth more than 99p and it looked brand new, (pockets were still stitched and no 'sitting down' creases in the lining). Might have to move the buttons over a smidgeon but I'm very pleased with my 99p coat. Then I picked up a waist length cashmere M & S cardi in pale blue...also 99p and in very good condition. Next came a calf length Laura Ashley skirt in a ditsy pink and grey flowery pattern, 99p natch! Finally a gorgeous M & S Special Collection evening top in navy. The fabric was the main appeal - it consists of raised, 3D stylee flowers and leaves in navy on a heavy see thro gauze baground. Lord knows what you are supposed to wear under it as it is so see through. Probably will never wear it but I just had to have it for another 99p!!Floss said:

Duly corrected! [Quiet opinion she’s the only one I give a peep about - every princess deserves blasters!] However other princesses are definitely available & some people hold Strong views!Wraithlady said:Technically not a Disney princess as she pre-dates the take-over (Geek-cred needs to be maintained!)6 -
Awed, delighted for you & that’s an excellent price! The cream body or the blue body colourway?boazu said:I struck a very rich seam in the local charity shop this morning a Denby Juice teapot at half price of £4, brand new,5 -
@Miró - very glad to hear that your banknote was genuine and rather appalled at the way you were treated in the CS originally, it must have been most unpleasant.
Your military style coat and Special Collection evening top sound especially stylish, any chance of a photo one of these days? Those of us who are sartorially challenged need good examples you know!5 -
Not a Charity Shop story but that reminds me of having a Debenhams voucher rejected by one of their revenue protection (or whatever their term was) people - on the basis that the ink did not rub off! I left the items I intended to buy, complained to Debenhams HQ (who apologised at my treatment and compensated me). I returned to the store, found the man, told him what had happened and he refused to apologise personally. It took me a long time to buy from Debenhams again.Miró said:. . , but I had a little to-do with the S/A at the time of purchase....she refused to take my £5 note because she said some of the ink had come off(??). It was her attitude of making a big fuss and making me feel like a crim in front of other customers that annoyed me. . .5 -
It's a cream one D for V with a brown lid and looks never to have been used. I'm going back today to see if they have any more pieces as DD has had a few breakages (stepsons of 10 and 7 and a 20 month old daughter all 'helping' clear tables etc) and her original set that they use everyday is much depleted. I shall be on the look out for odd bits from now on and pick up what I can to supplement her china cupboard.6

I finally found some grey ankle boots today as i have been on the lookout for ages. I popped into a hospice charity shop I hadn't been to in years. I found a perfect condition pair for £2.
