I'd have been more awed & ebullient, but I was cuddling the teapot - is it really only Denby who make pieces that just snuggle into your hands? Or (with a certain amount of care) lap? Sure, shape designs change but some of the shapes just sit elegant then near-purr when handled...
Anyway, as of Friday, I am the proud owner of the following list.
A Pyrex corning fluted pie dish £3
A Kilner flip-top bottle £1
A Pyrex corning small casserole £1.50
A Lakeland pack of 6 silicone stretch lids £3
A Lekue 3D Easter mould for making choccy rabbits and eggs £3
An Emma Bridgewater egg cup £0.50
River Cafe Two hardback recipe book £3
Store cupboard vegetarian hardback recipe book £1.50
This lovely haul came from both Cancer Research branches and Helen & Douglas House Hospice in Headington. The Oxfam branch there is now opening on alternate days of the week so I missed that and there was another one I didn't get into because it was closed for lunch.5 -
Back again as I've been very lucky on my way to the library to return some rather overdue lockdown borrowings.
I thought I'd just pop in to my favourite BHF shop as the door was hospitably propped open and it looked nice and quiet. I was rewarded with a PME 6" cake tin £1.50 and a box of reusable silicone baking liners from Germany £1.99 so I'm feeling as though the chazza universe likes me this week."She could squeeze a nickel until the buffalo pooped."

today's bargains...
£1 aynsley china vase , looks posh in my window and cheap enough if my cats break it!
£1.50 Chinese fortune sticks, Chinese wisdom for everyday. You ask a question then throw the sticks or something then refer to the book for the answer.
We are having a few problems with the charity shop sticking to their own rules of 4 in at one time. They have an old man works there let's any amount in and you don't feel safe, so its a quick in and out.6 -

I struck a very rich seam in the local charity shop this morning a Denby Juice teapot at half price of £4, brand new, a next dress for my granddaughter age 2 for £1, a novel for £1, an 'Eat well for less' cookery book from the TV programme reduced to 25p and a TY Beanie Balz toy giraffe for £1 and then got given two free lateral flow tests from the council guy who was giving them away outside the shop...win win!8

Back in the big Metrollops today and it was a win some lose some sort of day. In the Cancer Research shop I found a pair of M & S linen/cotton mix, high waisted/wide legged with turnups trousers in a neutral shade for £4 and a perfect fit. Then in the Community Shop I spotted a pair of Hennes pure linen trousers in a khaki shade BNWT but which turned out to be a very strange cut and look horrible on so they will be going back. I don't normally take things back, I just re-donate stuff, but I had a little to-do with the S/A at the time of purchase....she refused to take my £5 note because she said some of the ink had come off(??). It was her attitude of making a big fuss and making me feel like a crim in front of other customers that annoyed me. I got it from a cash machine but cannot remember which bank so wot do I do wiv it? Anyhoo....soldiered on to the Hospice Shop and got a pair of Car Key Signal Blocker pouches, beautifully presented in a box and I know someone who is looking for one right now so that will be a nice little gifty. Anyhoo...onwards and err um...onwards!!9
