Sending big hugs Pixie on this wet Monday morning. I will be off to school welcoming 2 full year groups back today. I used to worry about my late Husband Mick when I was at work.Did my gel nails yesterday ready for school. My nails are a bit poor, too much garden work I think!Enjoy your Monday everyone6

Hope all goes well sheila. Schools have worked so hard in the past year and even more challenges from today with the testing alongside teaching. 😊
Hope you're feeling a bit brighter this morning pixie. Enjoy your coffee (and optional doughnut😉). Sitting on a bench is officially allowed from today. 😁
Trying to lift myself for another week of lockdown. I seem to find Mondays difficult , probably because it feels like, yet another, Groundhog day. I know DGD will be calling round briefly later for a snatched doorstep conversation. She's had a Mothers' Day gift delivered here so is coming to collect it. We keep in touch through WhatsApp but it will be good to see her in person.
I've done all my basic self care routines for the day and will put some make up on too. Not much fabbing going on otherwise. I'm sure I'll cheer up soon. 😊6 -
I think lockdown is getting to us all now maman - it really does seem to be dragging on this time around. I received my letter for the vaccination today but my nearest centre is nearly 30 miles away so I think I will wait until I can have it done more locally - it says on the website that new community pharmacies are opening all the time so hopefully it won’t be too long to wait.
Hope you are feeling better today pixie?
Sheila - hope the start back to school goes well.6 -
I just went out for my blood test. It was weird seeing kids in school uniform on the way there. It was also strange getting on the tube as I have hardly been doing that at all. I said to the person doing the blood test that I thought having a time slot for blood tests was better than the old way of just turning up and sitting and waiting. She said that they weren't going to go back to the old way which is good.
I'm wondering when I'm getting my Covid jab. I was discussing online about whether you are supposed to take paracetamol before or after. I was told to take paracetamol after getting the flu jab to stop getting any side effects but someone said he was told by his GP to take it beforehand?
I was thinking after I got home and shut the front door that I haven't got anything to do now until the chiropodist in two weeks!

I'm hearing varying reports about the vaccine availability Wednesday. My friend got her letter at the weekend and tried to book but nothing local was available. She booked 12 miles away then got an email cancelling it. She tried again next day and has a distant appointment in a couple of weeks. She's hoping that her local pharmacy or GP will get vaccine soon and call her earlier. She's on the outskirts of London. Local to me, we're lucky in that we have a super GP surgery built a few years ago. They can do blood tests just by making an appointment with the nurse. Previously we had to go to the local hospital and join the queue! 😊6

My children were back at school today, thank goodness. It actually feels like a break, not having to work and home educate at the same time. ALthough they liked being home, they were fine with going back to school and both have come in relatively good moods.
Wednesday I agree about the turn up and wait blood tests, those types of appointments always annoyed me as sometimes you can go and be in and out really quickly and other times, you can turn up and wait for ages.
Pixie and Maman i hope your days have been okay. Every day is a step closer to our new normality.

Hello Ladies,
It is International Women's Day todayIn celebration of this momentous day, I challenge myself and all of you ladies to talk kindly to ourselves for the next 30 days. I am supercritical when I make mistakes completely forgetting that to 'err is human'. I would never speak negatively to another person the way I speak to myself in a hyper critical way, so I am going to be as forgiving and understanding of my mistakes for the next 30 days. as I would be if someone else made the same mistakes and see if I can really change my inner narrative so that it is far more positive.
Chanie, I too have noticed the clever way in which our Government has been talking about offering the Covid-19 vaccine to all adults by a specific date. It is quite meaningless. All of the data about how many people have actually had one dose of the vaccine over 22 million people obscure the knowledge that only just over 1 million people in the UK had the required 2 doses of the vaccine.4 -
Glad to hear your children had a good day chanie. My DD did too... and she's the class teacher! 🤣
I'm a bit cynical about the 'offers' too. My DH got 2, one in a NHS letter and one in a phone call from GP. Does he count as 2?🤔
Feeling much brighter than this morning. I think it's just getting over the Monday groundhog feeling. Hope you're OK pixie.6 -
Hi everyone, thanks for the good wishes. I decided to get busy so last night I cooked dinner and then stripped GSs bed and washed everything and gave his room a bit of a spring clean. Today I did some weeding, scrubbed some moss from the front of the house, my house is rendered and painted cream so the winter weather left the bottom of the walls looking grubby but they are sparkling now. Then I went into town and bought a few bits and then had a sit down on the front and had a pink dooughnut and a coffee.
I think it worked quite well as I'm feeling almost back to normal.
Maman hope you are OK and the same to everyone. Schools are back, 3 weeks till we can meet up with a group of six, five weeks to the hairdresser. Lift returning to normal I hope.6
