Maman I saw that little boy on the news. He is so amazing, I love my kids and GC but that little boy is truly special. I wonder if there will be any help set up for him, I'd certainly donate.
Scary about the car, glad it worked out OK. I've got my MOT coming up and I need the car serviced. Last year I rushed it in for the MOT before the garages closed and they didn't have time for the service, of course they then suspended MOTs so I shouldn't have panicked. To be fair I haven't done many miles other than a visit to aging relative in December so hopefully all is well and not too expensive.
Bit of a sad day, GS goes home tomorrow as he starts school on Monday. If things don't go well he can come back but it means me having to drive him to school every day and pick him up so I'm not that enthusiastic about it but it will be strange not having him here. We've had him for 9 weeks and it has been good for me, DH sleeps alot due to morphine and GS has been great company for me. I've promised him takeaway tonight as a treat so that will either be a curry or KFC, he's predictable. I have a voucher for £15 for uber so that will come in handy. He will almost certainly pop in after school once or twice a week so I won't completely lose track of him.
I've listed my ebay items so hopefully they will go. I depressed myself by looking at all DHs junk in the loft, you wouldn't believe I've sold so much stuff before lockdown. I can't rush him though, it is softly softly.8 -
I just went for a 45 minute walk. I'm not using my trampoline today as I feel so tired. I slept in until almost 11.30. I did get up and have some breakfast and went back to bed afterwards.
It's quite chilly out. I dyed the black and white checked shirt so it is purple and black now and I wore that out today but I probably needed a jacket. I need to go and wash and condition my hair. I'm listening to 80s music on TV.
I went into the shop and the cute guy was in there. He said "Enjoy the rest of your day" when I left and I said "Thanks" even though I'm sure I won't as it's just another day stuck at home.

Went for a lovely long walk today - it was chilly when we started out but the early Spring sunshine soon warmed us up. Managed 12,200 steps and my legs do feel a bit tired now. I will run a lovely hot bath tonight and have a long soak 🛀 - might put a face pack on while I am relaxing in the bubbles.
Pixie - enjoy your takeaway with your GS this evening.
Maman - I too saw the report on that boy on the news - he is truly inspirational. Glad to hear the car problem wasn’t serious.6 -
sugar thanks for the heads up on the sanitary products. I use washable pantyliners and period knickers, so I rarely use disposable ones. In fact, I haven’t bought any in over a year. If I get time, I’ll pop to Superdrug and buy a couple of packs for the food bank.
purple enjoy your takeaway tonight. I hope your DGS has a good first day back at school.
Wednesday you have been very active recently. It’s so important up keep active and it isn’t just about heavy exercise.I can’t wait for the children to go back to school on Monday. As much as I have loved having all that time with them, it will good for me to just get on with work, without worrying about lessons, food and breaking up arguments. Now that the schools are opening, we are phasing back into the office, so I’ll be going in one day a week for now. I don’t mind, it will be a change of scenery.8 -
Chanie, well done you for using sustainable sanitary products. I applaud you, but I do not think I would ever make the switch. It is good news that children are returning to school on Monday, as they have really missed out on their education and their social development in school. Homeschooling has been difficult for parents and children, so are am sure that most children and parents are looking forward to the schools opening on Monday in England.
Purple pixie I used to be in a similar position with my grandson who spent years in care. He would come and stay whenever he just wanted to be with my family. He eventually ended up with his own flat here in London, but last year his life was threatened so him and his partner went to live with his Mother and his step-father in Andover. I was so happy for the both of them, as they are out of harm's way and I do not have to worry about his welfare. He is so happy to be living with his Mother once again, especially since the birth of his son. I hope you enjoy your takeaway tonight.
I cooked homemade Nando's chicken wings last night and there is enough left over for dinner tonight. I made them extra hot, the strength I prefer them and they were absolutely delicious. My daughter complimented me on them.
Once I have had my 2nd Covid-19 vaccine, I will feel a lot more at ease about visiting my great grandson. Also I will be so much less concerned about getting Covid-19 again, which I really dread.

Chanie, I currently use washable sanitary pads but am looking at period pants as I think they would be a lot easier and a bit comfier. There are so many different brands now, which do you use?
I actually recommended my sister look into them as my 12 yo niece has just started her period and is feeling really self-conscious about using pads and is worried that people can see the outline through her trousers etc. 😞 I thought the pants might be better for her, especially when she's back at school.
My DD is 17 months old now and I switched her over to cloth nappies a year ago, there are so many great reusables in all sorts of categories now. I used to use the mooncup for years as well but it really hasn't suited me since having my DS so have stuck to washable pads.Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. sashy I have waka and modibodi. Both have their pluses and minuses, but seemed to be the best brands, when I was researching. I like the build in pads, they are really comfortable. The only downside is that they are expensive, about £20 a pair, which mean they aren’t cost effective, compared to disposables. I have 4 pairs and just manage with those. It means I’m constantly washing and drying them, but it’s only for a few days at a time.

Thanks chanie, yes they are pricey which is a bit off putting as you think £20 for a pair of pants! Of course they have the built in pad etc but at first glance it does seem a lot.
Hopefully they are designed to last a good while, so although the outlay is bigger at first, overall it won't be much more expensive per use. 🤔 I think I will try a couple of brands and see how I get on but it will have to be over a few months due to the expense.

I bought a hair mask yesterday, my hair and skin has got so dry lately. I am so pleased with it, my hair looks and feel so much better after one treatment. The tub is quite big so I think it will last for quite a few weeks, it says to use it once a week, but I will definitely be ordering more. It only cost about £5 so I think it was a bargain. I also bought a hyaluronic serum and cream so feeling quite fab today.7

purple what hair masque are you using? I normally use coconut oil as a hair masque. I haven’t done one in ages, so I may do that today.
