chanie said:Wednesday I agree about the turn up and wait blood tests, those types of appointments always annoyed me as sometimes you can go and be in and out really quickly and other times, you can turn up and wait for ages.
The woman at the blood test centre said they have changed the clinics where you can get a blood test and they are going to open some more but close some down more of them as well. I'm not sure if that is just where I live or everywhere.5 -
I just vacuumed upstairs and moved some furniture around. I ordered some incense and some lip balms from Amazon as the Superdrug website wasn't working for me yesterday. I forgot shaving stuff so I will get that on my walk tomorrow. I realised I had forgotten to dye my bed covers blue so I'm doing one set now.
I'm just drinking wine and watching Frasier I recorded from this morning on channel 4. We watched a film last night Game Night and it was quite funny. I liked it. On Netflix, naturally!

That's good news pixie. Doing something practical usually helps. I'm glad you did treat yourself. 😋
Funnily enough, our house is rendered and painted too. When we moved in it was grey and, as it's a semi, we've always done the same as our neighbours. Now next door has changed hands and a developer is doing it up for sale. It's going to be cream like the other rendered houses in the street. Ours should be done in the next month. 😁
When we used to queue for tests Wednesday, it was at the local hospital that has the oncology. If you didn't time it right then patients needing blood tests for chemo naturally took priority. It's so much better now that the practice nurses can do it. I suppose it depends what a surgery can offer depending on space and staffing.6 -
At my surgery you have always booked an appointment with the phlebotomist. She is very good and keeps to appointment times so rarely have to wait around. Sometimes I've seen one of the nurses but I think that is just if the phlebotomist isn't around.7

You could easily be waiting over an hour at least at my local blood test clinic. My local hospital was even worse.
I just had a disaster. I checked on the dyed bed covers to put on the second wash and I had put it on a wool setting (which was still 40 degrees as it says on the label) and it had turned it half coloured and half white like tie dye!
I put in another "blue" dye pod and closed the door and put it on a different 40 degree setting. I then did a double take as the bed covers were turning purple, not blue! What the hell?! I didn't even notice as I just wasn't concentrating. The Dylon company obviously put the wrong colour on the outer label!
Epic fail as people used to say about 10 years ago.
I suppose it will still match my blue walls as I might get some purple and blue throw cushions to try and coordinate the room. At least that brought some type of action to my tedious life at the moment. Haha.

I am pleased that you are both feeling a little brighter maman and pixie. I have been gardening today helped willingly (for once LOL) by OH, so much promise of things to come with plants just showing tiny bits of themselves through the soil. Other bright spots today were a call from the hairdressers, I now have an appointment for a complete re-style on 19th April, also a text from GPs surgery offering the blood tests that I need as requested by hospital which is 60 miles away. Not so good is that my elderly neighbour is having some surgery today after a nasty knock on her leg (on Warfarin) and being send home from another hospital with no treatment and younger relative of another neighbour in hospital needing a brain tumour removed urgently, keeping them in my thoughts.
Physical fabbing today, well not much - basic skincare, warm clothes, tasty food. The best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)6 -
Positive thought for today:
Treat your mind with the same respect you treat your body. Consider unhealthy thoughts the same way you do unhealthy food. Set limits and focus on what will nourish you. (Katie Piper)

Good posts sugarbaby. 😊
I pondered on last night's post (not had time to focus on today's yet😉) and realised that it's probably the lack of distraction found in 'normal' life that makes it more difficult to set limits on destructive thoughts. Finding a distraction definitely helps like pixie did yesterday.
On the same theme, I'm going to make myself do something for my mind today. It may be reading a book, not sure yet. 🤔
It's gloriously sunny here today but chilly.7 -
It's really hot. It's like summer. I wore my knitted dress, black leggings and plimsolls and I was too warm on my walk. I was going to wear my new Doc Martin type boots so I'm glad I didn't. I got home and changed into a blue vest top. I don't think I have ever worn this one as was a new one from a chazzer I bought last year. It's supposed to be heavy rain tomorrow, though.
Speaking of blue I can't believe how badly my bed covers turned out, they are blue with purple splodges!I think that is first time I have had a problem with dyeing anything. I'm probably going to have to buy some darker dye like navy blue to cover them at some point. I will see how bad they look on the bed first. Maybe one side is better than the other.
There was a Subway advert on the radio just now and we got Subway from Deliveroo at the weekend. We got the vegan subs and the cookies. It was actually nice. I never normally eat at Subway for some reason.
I'm just going to play fetch with my dog in the garden as it's so nice out if it's going to pour down tomorrow.
