LL I'm absolutely certain I had covid after a month in Goa .On the flight back , on Dec 23nd ,a bloke sitting near me coughed for the whole 9 hour flight.I got home n was in bed for over 3 weeks.Never been as Ill, but obviously I had no idea about covid then 😢
A lady I met over there , came back in March , n had the same symptoms, n She hasn't been right since
Glad you've had a relaxing day LL x"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It is great that so many of you are getting the jab.
The government/NHS really seem to have got this in hand after months of being all over the place.
I read that they will move onto the over 50s after mid February. I have only been getting the flu jab since my husband was diagnosed with cancer but I have often felt ill and like I have a high temperature/flu-like afterwards. The pharmacist last year said that was a good sign as your body is obviously reacting to the vaccine?
I went for my usual walk today, but in the rain! My hair frizzes up too when the weather is damp. I used my lovely peacock umbrella and went to the shop where the good looking guy with dark hair and blue eyes works. I have to make my own entertainment these days with lockdown! Haha.

pattycake said:I had the AZ jab on Monday. I felt off colour all day on Tuesday but by evening, really rough. Headache, shivery and generally aching all over. I packed myself off to bed early and was right as rain on Wednesday morning. My friend had the same experience but my DH who was jabbed at the same time as me was fine. Everyone reacts differently.
Anyhow, definitely worthwhile. The vaccine rollout has been a remarkable achievement by the NHS. We attended our local Town Hall. A 10 minute walk away and a very efficient system. We never even sat down through the whole process. No need with the AZ to rest for 15 minutes afterwards. By then, we were home making a well deserved cuppa!9 -
Today has been quite productive. I went for a walk, baked some scones and have sorted out quite a bit of stuff which I have put on Ebay. I have a few more bits and pieces to list tomorrow. Any money I make I am going to put towards the garden. I feel positive and have now got my mojo backDebt free and Keeping on Track7

It was a lovely and sunny day here today too.
I walked to Coop and found the new vegan dark chocolate cookies.I've noticed I seem to do around 5,000 steps as a standard walk each day. My friend texted me and said she has just been in all the time and not even doing Zoom with her friends. She knows a lot of people so that is weird for her. She is over 50 and has a serious health condition so she has been very careful all during this time.
I've just been listening to music all day. I am sick of films as we watched a rubbish one the other day and it put me off.
I have the dentist next Friday and I walked past and saw a queue of two people waiting outside the surgery today. I am going to have to call them to check what the procedure actually is before I turn up. I have my telephone appointment with the charity next week too. It's the most eventful week I will have had in a while!

Wow....all this positivity sounds good. The world is definitely looking more cheery this week. We are now past the peak of this wave and life is looking a lot rosier.I slept for 8.5 hours straight and feel tons better. In fact I've just had another little nap on the sofa. I need all the beauty sleep I can get, 😂
I had an energy surge this morning and went to the mega Sainsburys instead of Aldi. First time in months. I think I must have suffered from visual over stiumulation (just not used to so much to look at🤣) because I felt quite shattered when I got home, hence falling asleep. Anyway it made such a nice change, I had a good mooch round the clothing and housewares, didn't buy anything, found the clothes dull. I think I'll wait until the summer stuff comes in, not much point buying winter clothes now.Read today the science bods are saying that if the vaccine roll out continues at this pace we should reach herd immunity by July. Also that the worst restrictions should be lifted by the end of May. And the BofE are predicting that the economy will roar ahead once restrictions are lifted. I think this is probably quite likely, there must be so much pent up demand. Especially with the leisure industries.Speaking to my son and he tells me that our Debenhams site might reopen as a Waterworld. I can see this happening. It would be a fantastic draw for our city. I think the high street has to evolve and I can already see signs in our city centre that there has been a subtle shift to tourism and leisure rather than relying solely on retail. Its been happening quite slowly for some time but I think covid will increase the pace of change. Diversification will be key.Was also reading that environmentalists are noticing that in a lot of instances the earth is showing signs that it is healing itself. Covid has allowed the planet to rest.Don't want to get ahead of myself and obviously we still have to be sensible and not take unnecessary risks but I think the worst is finally over. Time to start planning and looking forwards.Onwards and upwards.....
Keep fabbing. Let's get ready to be "Summer Sizzlers". 😂10 -
Lots of positivity on here today😊. I think you're right about the 'pent up' spending LL. I don't think people will go mad on clothes or things they've managed without. Even if they buy for summer 2021 they'll have saved on winter 2020/21 and Christmas 2020 party clothes. Maybe shops will just get them out again for this year! 🤣 Personally I'll be happy to spend on eating out and desperate for holidays when they're allowed.
I had a message from my SIL in Wales last night, just asking how we were. I'd forgotten that their lockdown is much stricter than ours. So when they go to the supermarket they can only buy essential items, all the clothes racks etc are cordoned off.
It's been a good day here too today except for a few odd showers. My DH is planning a local walk for the community Facebook page which takes in some historical/architectural sights so we did a test run of that this morning. We know the area well but it was interesting and enjoyable all the same. Only about 4000 steps but plenty of time to 'stand and stare' as well.
Shopping in Aldi this afternoon. Pleased to say that they had everything I needed in stock so all well there. It's strange but if I know I have something planned for the day (even f it is just a trip to the supermarket😉) then I have a whole different mindset. It encourages me to do my hair and make up and generally feel 'normal'.
While i still read the newspaper each day, I'm listening to minimal news and current affairs at the moment, preferring my audiobooks. I didn't bother with Question Time last night for the first time in years and I've long since stopped watching the press conferences. I'm fed up of listening to prepared soundbites and slogans and Fiona Bruce is a very poor Chair IMO compared with Dimbleby. Instead, I watched the film Quartet and it was excellent, gentle and entertaining. 😊7 -
Another one here to join in with the positivity. I feel quite positive in myself this week. No reason in particular, just feeling this week has been easier.7
