MrsPorridge said:Today I went out in the car and left the village for the first time this year! We went for a walk at our local NT property - we certainly picked the right day, no rain and sunny. Then we visited a couple of garden centres. I stopped off at M&S foodhall on the way home - first time I have been in a supermarket this year as well. It felt really, really good to be out although very strange as hardly anyone else out and about. I did feel a bit guilty, but for my mental health it has done me wonders.7

That is good about you getting the jab Pixie.
It's great that people on here are getting the vaccine. His work said that my husband should get his before his younger colleagues as he is now 50. I am not holding my breath to get my jab as I bet I will be one of the last!
Mrs Porridge - that sounds like a nice day. It is definitely worth doing activity that benefits your mental health. I can't remember the last time I visited a NT place, but I always enjoyed them.
Sukey - I think I used to have that video too. I just read an article about Rosemary Conley strangely enough in my Top Sante magazine, I think it was. I need to start doing more exercise! Just walking is getting so dull.

I think you definitely did the right thing MrsPorridge. Like LL said, you didn't do anything wrong. If we weren't supposed to go to these places, they wouldn't be open. We've been to our local NT property a few times. I'd like to go to see the snowdrops at Kingston Lacey but that's a bit far for a genuinely local journey. ☹️
You're so right that we have to choose a way of eating that suits us LL. I think the reason so many people give up on programmes is they find them restrictive or boring or they feel deprived. Personally I have my fats from things like salmon and sardines and some cheese and milk. I do enjoy avocado but tend to choose it in restaurants as I'm never sure about buying them quite ripe enough to eat at home. My favourite Italian restaurant does a superb prawn cocktail with a stack of prawns on leaves with avocado fanned around the base, 😋. Can't wait for them to open again. 😊8 -

LL I had the Astra Zeneca as well, I wasn't bothered which one I got but DH was happy as he said he couldn't explain why but he would have chosen the AZ if he had been given a choice.Had to smile at your husbands comments. I feel a little bit that way too but only because my husband did a lot of work with them. He started out on a six month contract and ended up staying 5 years, because they kept making him offers he couldnt refuse........ever more interesting and lucrative projects. He thoroughly enjoyed his time there, said they were a really dynamic and forward looking company to work for. He got to know Stockholm quite well, visiting three or four times a year.My FIL used to joke that he watched their share prices and always knew when my husband had signed another contract because AZs share price went up. 😂🤣
Well I have been (moderately) naughty. My husband always bought me something nice for our anniversary and often another little something for Valentine's Day, usually something shiny in a small box. I haven't bothered in recent years but now that I am in a happier place I have decided to resurrect the tradition and have ordered a freshwater Pearl necklace, with white, pink and lavender pearls. It will be pretty for the summer. I used to have one before but it got stolen when I was burgled and I never did get round to replacing it. I think he would approve. 😉.8 -
First post here but lve been lurking for a while and taking onboard lots of helpful hints. I’m 56 widowed 7 years and have decided lm not not letting my face, body or style go without a fight. I’ve just started looking at Trinny Woodall who’s the same age and thought l can do this. Unfortunately that’s meant spending big this month. Have taken before pictures and will compare in a month. Now off to cull my wardrobe and old cosmetics x
BTW helensbiggestfan l treat myself on behalf of my DH too even though he’s not here l can just hear him saying “ how much” and it makes me smile .Count down to retirement 20237 -
Hi Shabbychic. Welcome to the tread. Had to chuckle at the "how much". My husband used to say that.....but it was just his little joke. It's funny the things we remember, the little sayings. Have fun with the wardrobe declutter.Feeling a bit sore and stiff this morning, a bit headachey, so going to take it easy, have a nice long soak in the bath, then try some tai chi. I really need to get back into stretching/yoga etc I can feel myself seizing up. Now that I've had my jab I will wait the 3 weeks and then see if can get to either the physio or chiropractor. And I would kill for a good massage. I don't suppose that will be possible for a while yet but something to look forward to. Just need to be patient a little while longer.9

Welcome @shabbychic12 😊
Today is a 'do nothing' day - it was our anniversary yesterday so we had a lovely evening and took today off work just in case of hangovers! 😂😂😂 No hangovers to report but I'm currently drinking mojitos so who knows what tomorrow may bring 😉
Yesterday I had a defur, long hot shower, exfoliation and moisturise - I also put on some perfume, surprising how much better I felt!
We are going to watch movies today (more a dh thing than mine) so I will do a peel off face mask and let it dry while we watch - thankfully I have straws so can still have my mojito 😂
Tomorrow I'll be back on the eating well, excercise and water but it's been really lovely and totally lifted my spirits just doing stuff to make me happy 😊 I must admit that even a few days of concentrating on me has made a huge difference to how I feel physically and mentally- I'm thinking that fabulous February may be extended to marvellous March! 🤔😊DNF: £708.92/£1000

Welcome shabbychic. You seem to have a good plan. I's a good idea to look at celebrities of a similar age to see what's possible but don't be too hard on yourself as they have far more 'help' in many ways than we do. What did you spend on? I know this is a mse thread but I always like to know how people prioritise their spending on themselves (insert nosy smiley😉 ).
Sorry to hear you're feeling after effects of the vaccine LL but hope you still manage to have a good day for your anniversary. 😊 Enjoy your flowers, bubbles and truffles. Your jewellery purchase has encouraged me to do something with the vintage pearls that I have. When it's possible, I'll seek out a proper jeweller that can restring them. Maybe into a long rope that I'll actually wear?🤔 It's not that easy to find a good jeweller though. When my DD1 had a big birthday, I wanted to buy her a bangle but found that many of the High Street jewellers now seem to either just focus on watches or sell a lot of tat.
I've done my hair again today even though it looked fine when I got up. Unfortunately it's pouring with rain and I have to go out later so it may be a it of deja vu. I'll have to wear my parka with the big hood.9 -
Welcome to the gang SC .You have some good ideas already .Good plan taking before n after pics too 😁
LL have a nice pamper day hun, you deserve it 😉
LATTL sounds like you had a great day yesterday. I was laughing about the straw 🤣🤣
I put a face mask on yesterday, came downstairs, n Bon ran straight into her crate .She also hates me having my hair in a turban towel .High maintenance pooch 🤣🤣🤣"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"
