Good good Morning Lovely Ladies
Hi Sukey, welcome back. Sorry to hear you have had such a difficult month, hopefully there will be better times ahead. Love the nail colour.Well here we go. Fabulous February. Time to Focus on Us. In the nicest possible non selfish way of course. 😂.Just listened to the news. Carnage on the high street again. Top Shop etc to close. Basically Philip Greens empire has been broken up with Asos and Boohoo buying the brands but closing the shops and shifting the business online. I'm really looking forward to "proper shops" opening up again and having a good mooch, although I'm not sure what shops will be left. I think Debenhams will be gone too.Looks like a nice sunny day here today.Have a good week.8 -
Morning,
My Fabulous February is off to a good start. I have to go into the office today to sort something out so I’ve put on a dress, which feel great. OH asked me if I was going shopping whilst I was going in. I said he knows me too well and normally the answer would be ‘yes’ but the shops are still shut 🤣.I was shocked to hear about TopShop, as i thought that the Arcadia Group was making a killing on the High Street. TopsShop seemed to be well thought of and the flagship store on the corner of Oxford Street/Regent Street was full of buzz. But maybe that business model of disposable fashion was its downfall. No doubt Sir Phil had protected his personal assets.9 -
They showed the Oxford Street shop in the news, said it was definitely going. I would image because it's such a prime location it will be snapped up by another retailer but I don't think the same will apply in other towns and cities. I think there will be a lot more empty shops.Well my Fab February has got off to a good start too. Wearing one of sweaters I usually keep for going out......well I'm not likely to be going out for the foreseeable future and I'm aIming to be two sizes smaller next winter so I'm just going to wear my going out clothes now and then do a restock next winter. It's a sort of banana yellow and I'm wearing it with grey and black sort of leopard print trousers. Look quite good together. And I definitely look better in pale yellow rather than having grey next to my face. I'm wearing light make up, earrings, nail polish and of course perfume. My hair looks nice, not too straggly yet although I could do with trimming my fringe soon. I'm just about to wash my make up brushes. I've been through my make up and made a note of what I need to replace soon.
it would have been my wedding anniversary on Thursday. Time for some treats. Definitely some flowers. I know there aren't many shops open but I think I will visit Sainsburys and have a look at the clothing and maybe buy a couple of bits to tide me over till spring.8 -
Well I am far from Fabulous February. We had torrential rain yesterday. We have a 3 car drive and it is on a slight slope so we have a drain like this in front of the garage doors.
With the heavy rain it was overflowing and going under the garage doors. Today I've had to got the grating off the top, it was several separate lengths and all tight fitted so not easy, then shoveled out all the muck that had built up in them. Lovely compost I think but not fun getting two bagfuls out. At least it is all running free now but what do I look like, well I'm wind swept and needed a shower and clean clothes. I looked a bit like someone who has been on their hands and knees shovelling muck which isn't surprising. I'm having a cup of tea and a tea cake as I think I deserve a treat. My next fun activity is a pile of ironing.
Who said lockdown wasn't a barrel of laughs.9 -
Sukeyboo your nails look fabulous. I can never get nail varnish to look like that. I wouldn't dare show my nails today, broken and probably harbouring all sorts despite me wearing gloves to do the drains and scrubbing them afterwards. I still feel grubby after a shower and change of clothes.10

What a horrible job Pixie, but at least its done now.Debt free and Keeping on Track7

That sounds like a horrible job pixie - I bet you are glad it is finished.
Thanks for the compliments about my nails chanie, LL & pixie - it is amazing how a little thing like that can make you feel better 😀.
It is such a shame about all the high street shops - there won’t be any left soon ☹️. Shopping online is very useful, especially during these times, but there is nothing like a good wander round the shops.
As part of my new fabbing routine, I started my exercise DVD today and will aim to do it Monday-Friday as well as going out for a long walk when the weather allows.
Your outfit sounds lovely LL - I am going for a walk to the post office in a little while so will put some light makeup on and change into something nicer - I am wearing joggers & a light hoodie at the moment as I haven’t long finished the DVD.
I am envious of you chanie - I am still job hunting after being made redundant last year - it would be great to get dressed up to go back to the office again.
Have a good day all 😀7 -
I used to have lovely nails like you Sukey. Since we got the dogs they hardly ever grow long like that. It's all the extra hand washing. The pandemic hasn't helped either.
Someone from the charity called me back this morning and I have a phone appointment with them next week. I had to drop the form off at the office (not filled in) and they fill it out for you at the phone appointment and then send it back to you and then you sign it and send it off to the DWP. I said about the GP surgery not being particularly helpful with sending me information about my health conditions and he said most times the DWP don't even bother reading the pages of medical information people enclose! He said it is much more about how you fill in the form itself. Oh well. I'm not going to stress out about it.
I have been on two walks today and it is very chilly here. I fancied getting some fresh flowers today. I didn't bring enough change out with me so I will get them tomorrow. I think they had tulips at the shop near me which I love. I'm enjoying using the bath bombs and my scented candles daily.9 -
That's a step forward for the application form Wednesday, will keep my fingers crossed.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
