Floss - Hmm, I only contacted HMRC after 2013 so I have no idea why they said that. It's the only cheques I have sent in years. Obviously I spoke to a moron on the phone.
I will look online next time.
LL - I know I should pursue but I can't believe how much they have already annoyed me. Someone told me yesterday that I need to send a GP report that apparently costs £40 so I will call again Monday.
I'm about to have a bath with a bath bomb and shave my legs, exfoliate my face and use a pore strip. Listening to Katy Perry at the moment.8 -
I think Fabulous February is an excellent idea! I find it's great to have a plan. 😁
I think, if I were you, Wednesday I'd try to pursue the organisation that offered help with applying for the benefit. It might be less stressful for you than going it alone. Well done on the weightloss.😊 A steady 1lb a week is far better than crash dieting. I don't know if you decided about that indoor cycling machine. I think they could be useful for anyone who's forced to sit at a desk all day long but I think getting out for exercise has so many other benefits. So I'd stick to your walks whenever you can and maybe when things ease up a bit you could join a group exercise class of some sort. I know I'm desperately missing my dance classes both for the exercise and the social side.
Good idea to get dressed properly LL. You were really unlucky with the leisure clothes from Asda. I was only thinking yesterday that I've been wearing the same 4 pairs of leggings (in rotation!) for almost a year at home and some could maybe do with replacing. I actually like Asda and Primark leggings best. I had some from M&S and they were so uncomfortable. They had a high, wide waistband that seemed to cut into me. They went to the CS long ago. 😉
It's now well over a year since I had highlights in my hair so I'm pretty confident what I have now is my natural colour. It's in good condition and I'm really pleased with it. I have been using blonde shampoos and other products but that's just brought out any natural (or lingering🤔) highlights. I've had highlights for years and years but I'm glad that my natural colour isn't as much the boring old mouse that I thought it was! 🤣9 -
This morning I did the hour bird watching for the Garden Birdwatch RSPB. It was a pretty poor showing - we have had rain non stop for almost a week now and the garden is sodden. I spied two starling, two great tits, two sparrows and a robbin.
Tonight I am giving myself a spa treatment. I have a foil fask mask to try and then will have a lovely soakie bath with some cocounut bubble bath. I am really looking forward to it.
I'm afraid I have fallen back into the trap of wearing the same old thing each day. Can't wait to welcome February in tomorrow and hopefully a bit less rain.Debt free and Keeping on Track8 -
When I was applying for attendance allowance for an elderly relative Age UK were a brilliant help, it went straight through and I think it was 2 weeks until she got a letter confirming it all. I'd already been told on the phone. I don't know if there are similar organisation that would help for younger people, not sure of your age group Wednesday, but maybe Citizens Advice.
The thing they helped me with particularly was describing her disability, in some ways I was think well this is bad but this isn't too bad for an 80 year old and they said no if it is a problem you include it. I went back to thank them, in the days when you could go places, and the woman who helped me was as pleased as I was.
I had to appeal when I got it for my mother but they did back date it.
I hope you get it sorted.9 -
Thanks, I'm 44 Pixie. I will call the charity back on Monday morning Maman to see what they say. He did tell me when I first called that you need to provide as much evidence as you can. I signed myself off from my psychologist and psychiatrist last year and now the GP doesn't even have my medication on record. I will ask him what he thinks I should do.
I have suddenly felt really cold. I just went upstairs to get a cardigan. It was much chillier last night when I took my dog out for a quick walk.
I have a YouTube thing this afternoon so that will be something to break up the monotony.
I have started watching some of my favourite films the past couple of nights. Zodiac and then Martha Marcy May Marlene last night. It must seem like I'm obsessed with horror and true crime. I do watch other types of films and TV shows, haha.

Hello Ladies 👋
Sorry I have been AWOL for most of January - it has been a very trying month 🙁. Straight after New Year we had a burst pipe which came through the lounge ceiling (this is now going through the insurance), then we had some very sad news with the sudden and unexpected loss of a friend. To cap it all, last week the roof started to leak in the heavy rain - luckily enough a very friendly local roof man came and fixed it without charge 😀.
Due to all this the fabbing has been placed very much on the back-burner so I am definitely up for Fabulous February 😉.
Have washed and styled my hair this afternoon and sorted out a lovely burnt orange nail polish to put on this evening - I intend making much more of an effort from now on. I have fallen in to the same trap as MrsPorridge and been just wearing the same old things 😱😱😱. I think I only bothered putting make-up on about twice this month and used to make the effort every day.
My fabulous 2021 starts from today 😀🥂
Apologies that this post is all a bit ‘me-me-me’ - I just needed to write it all down and get it off my chest.6 -
Sorry about your friend sukeyboo. What a start to the year you've had, I hope it is all on the up now.5

Thanks pixie - I hope so too.
My nails turned out quite nicely - well I like them 😀
