I've been watching loads of you tube vids, with Pressure King Pro veggie recipes.I got one the other day, but cba even taking it out of the box. Unmotivated doesn't even begin to describe me at the mo
That's weird about the musk CHANIE.I used to love patchouli oil, back in my punky days ❤🤣"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

It's funny as when I was looking at the perfumes today I saw CK One and I was thinking that reminds me of sixth form and uni. Everyone I knew wore it.

Braved the dentist and I didn't need anything doing. It looks like the pains I have been getting are down to a cold sore that has inflamed some nerves on that side of my face so teeth were fine I just have to wait for the nerves to settle down. I should have realised as it has happened to me before, the clue was the pain being very clearly defined to one side of my face. The first time it happened I was in much more pain and was begging the dentist to pull a tooth and was told it will settle it isn't the tooth and of course it was true but if you have raging tooth ache you do tend to think it is the tooth.
I had perfume for Christmas, as well as all the chocolate, it was Daisy. It is quite nice but very sweet, I feel like it is more a young girls perfume but it is lovely on my pillow. Sweet dreams!
Candygirl that made me laugh, I can just imagine that box looking at you trying to make you feel guilty. I often feel like buying things like that but I think my kitchen just isn't big enough for them all. I like the look of the Pressure King Pro, I also fancied a breadmaker but I'm one level past you, I can't even BA to buy one.
Agree with Maman on the exercises for frozen shoulder, I broke my shoulder over 30 years ago and it still troubles me but the physio exercises really help. The worst thing is hanging curtains, I've been known to sit and have a cry after hanging a pair of curtains. Hope your's feels better soon LL. Where I am you can self refer to the physio, don't know if you have that but it is a good system and they normally see you within a week.7 -
I have a pressure king cooker. I use it loads. I cook soaked beans in it (35 minutes), daal, soup, and casseroles.
It is super easy. Just one tip keep a note of which away the lid goes. there is a inner lid and the instructions is not clear which way to replace it. I put it back upside down once and it look ages to cook.
Overall they are really easy to clean and cooks really well. Just one other tip pepper seems to intensify- all other spices are ok, but black pepper seems to become more powerful so go easy with it.
I know you can cook porridge in it but it's messy to clean and goes into a mush texture.
There is not a week that I don't use it and it makes cooking brown lentils so simple.5 -
Thanks for the tips SFT, it's still in it's box, but might be coming out later today, if I cba 😉"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Good Mornjng lovely ladies. Thanks for the shoulder exercise links. Some new ones there but yes, they do help. It feels a bit easier today but typing does aggravate it so I'll need to be careful in future.Pixie....glad the dentist went well. I have a list of personal care appts stacking up once I've had my vaccine. Along with getting to see either a physio or Chiro, there's the dentist, opticians, chiropodist, hairdresser, skin clinic. None are urgent but definitely needs not wants. Some serious maintenance is required, Tbh I feel like a full body MOT is needed. 😂. Maybe that could be my 70th birthday present, 😂🤣.Feeling a bit philosophical - watched 63 Up last night. It was a repeat but was being shown again as a tribute to the director who recently died. Nick, the boy from Yorkshire, who grew up to be a scientist, also died within a few days of the director. I loved Nick, he was such a nice man, very clever but unassuming and a kind and gentle soul. He was always one of my favourites.I don't know if anyone else followed the series but personally I think it's one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. A documentary series following a group of people from the age of 7, with a new set of programmes every 7 years, following their progress through life. Based on the old Jesuit teaching of "give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man", it is, more than anything, a study of the class system. The whole series is available on Britbox. Well worth watching.
Like many of my generation I sort of grew up with these programmes, getting to know the participants and watching their lives unfurl, so losing Nick feels a bit like losing an old friend. Certainly makes me realise I have less road ahead of me then I have behind me. 😟
I am more determined than ever, that once our lives return to something resembling normality, I'm not going to waste a minute of it. I feel like I've got an awful lot of catching up to do. If lockdowns have taught me anything it's that time is precious and life has to be lived to the Max. Looks like this lockdown is on for a good while yet and even then I think restrictions will be lifted much more slowly than previously. It's finally stopped raining, the rear garden has flooded again, something else to sort out. It obviously needs better drainage, but that's one for a professional Gardner. A bit beyond my scope.Candy.......That CK One review was funny. It's still one of my favourites fragrances, because it is so light. When I was younger my favourites were Mitsouko by Guerlain, Chanel No 5 and one by Lancôme, can't remember the name. Unfortunately I found something must have changed in my physiology because they now give me headaches, in fact a lot of smells do, even certain flowers such as Lillies, sweet peas and hyacinths. Can't have them in the house.
Does anyone remember Este Lauders Youth Dew. That one made me throw up, literally, even if someone else was wearing it. I once went to see Dr Shivago at the cinema and a woman sat in front of me who was drenched in the stuff. It's a very long film with an interval in the middle. By the time the interval came I knew I was in trouble but couldn't leave because we had taken some Belgian visitors to see the film so I had to stick it out. On the way home my dad had to stop the car several times for me. I was ill for days, 😂. I can laugh now but it wasn't much fun at the time. Now that's it's finally stopped raining I am aiming for a walk today. There's even a bit of weak sunshine at the moment. Can you believe January is almost over. Thank goodness. 😂Have a great day y'all.7 -
I remember one of my ex-boyfriends used to wear Brut aftershave. Any time I smell that scent on a man I think about him. We went to the cinema when I was about 14. We went to see Karate Kid 3. 1989, no I was 13! My husband watched Cobra Kai and anything to do with that film/series reminds me of my ex-boyfriend still.
I think I saw that programme once about the people they followed since they were 7. I can't really remember it.
I feel like I lurch between being extremely bored to feeling panic at having too much to do and not doing it! I realised I haven't had the PIP form yet and HMRC haven't cashed my cheque either. I don't understand how they can both be so slow. HMRC are always useless every time I've had to deal with them.
I had a warm shower, did a hair treatment and got dressed and put on stud earrings. I was going to go for a walk but it started raining.
I made up a bag for the charity shop for when things reopen. I put in three tops, a pair of jeans, two books, a notepad and an ornament I don't like.
I'm just going online and burning one of my new scented candles. We watched two films last night, well one and a half as we didn't finish watching Searching. It was on film 4. I'm going to go for a walk when the rain lets up. It's very mild here, I almost didn't need my jacket yesterday.
I might try and carry on with this book on my kindle. It's pretty stupid and far fetched. I'm 51% in and I might give it one more try and then delete it if it doesn't improve!

Aww my Nana wore Youth Dew, so I always remember her when I smell it.It is very heavy though 😯😯.
If I smell vanilla or coconut, I feel so sick , n yet I love vanilla icecream 🤔
LL I loved the seven up series, but didn't know Nick had died
Have had a horrid, between the eyes headache for a couple of days now.Not like me to get headaches usually, so hope it goes asap .
Mum's having her jab today. Her friend had the Pfizer one on Monday, n is quite poorly, with flu like symptoms. Could be a coincidence but ..... 😯😯"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

wednesday.....I know exactly what you mean about lurching between panic and boredom. I have so much I need and want to do but just can't seem to find the motivation at the moment. I can only put the lack of motivation down to Lockdown because I have never felt like this before in my life. Its just not me. It's not depression, it's just a total lack of "get up and go". I am hoping that as the days get warmer and lighter I will feel more inclined to get stuck in.One thing I have done recently is restructure my finances. I have actually been pleasantly surprised with the results, so much so that I have decided that I might just buy in some help this year if I need to, especially in the garden. Have it landscaped to make it easier to maintain (and improve drainage). Same with deep cleaning. In the future I might get a cleaning company in say every three months or so to do the jobs I either hate or struggle with......oven cleaning is not my favourite past time. 😂Having said that, I'm going to start my spring/deep cleaning today. I've just bought the step ladder in from the shed so I can reach the top of the wardrobes. I want to get everywhere nice, ready for when lockdown finally ends and I can get out and about more. Problem is I have bags and boxes lying around ready for the charity shops and recycling centre. I'm hoping that once I have thoroughly Marie Kondoed everywhere cleaning will be much easier anyway. I'm also thinking I might get a joiner to build in extra storage too but I'll wait under after I've finished decluttering.Right that's it. Time to get going.....8
