maman said:It's good to know that people are returning in numbers to their favourite haunts @sugarbaby125. I don't know if you made a deliberate choice but Elvis died on 16th August 1977. I met my DH on 13th so it was very much in the news that week with his music being played everywhere. We married 3 years to the day we met so it's our anniversary tomorrow. 😍
October 1993.
What type of restaurant are you going to for your anniversary?3 -
Glad you feel a bit better Chanie.
I think I will wear my favourite navy dotty dress tomorrow night for the meetup.
I might go out to another local meetup on Sunday, some people are meeting for a picnic so that should be cheap too. I will have to take my dog along as my husband is working but it is in a park so that should be okay.2025 GOALS

Hello Ladies,
Maman I did not make a deliberate choice to sing an Elvis song. I was not aware of the anniversary of his death that evening. Happy anniversary. I hope you had an enjoyable day with your husband
I had another ultrasound scan on both of my hands this morning which was more comprehensive and it has now been confirmed that I have Osteoarthritis in both hands. The Rhuematology consultant seemed sceptical when I was detailing my new issues with my hands and grips. Well now she has irrefutable proof.
I was asked to be part of a Windrush Project at Blackfriars Settlement which will be a collaboration with the school next door. I found the meeting really enjoyable and I know a lot more about what my participation in the project will mean to me and the other participants. The project is due to start in September.

That sounds like a really interesting project @sugarbaby125 and a hugely important thing for all schools to learn about. I'd love to hear about it as it progresses.
Obviously not good news about the osteoarthritis but good that you have a proper diagnosis.
Thanks for the good wishes all. Tomorrow is our anniversary and we're going to an Italian restaurant that we like very much. I'm going to wear a spotty dress too @Wednesday2000. It's the Zara one I bought 2 years ago but haven't had many chances to wear.
I'm glad you're getting to a number of those meet ups. The picnic with the dog sounds fun and a bit different.
Not too long before you can get out now @chanie.
I've had quite a high spend day today. I had my eyebrows done. That was the last of the 3for2 package. They're really good value so I bought another. Then I browsed around in John Lewis and bought 2 tops. One is a cashmere jumper in a sort of oatmeal colour from Hush. The other is a zip up, hooded cardigan in a blue marl that will look good with jeans. I'll post a link if I can when I'm using my PC.
Still no luck with the Ordinary retinol. They don't stock it at either JL or Boots which for large branches is poor. I'll try click and collect from the website.
We had a good walk and coffee with friends this morning which was good as we've not seen this group since before March 2020. Unfortunately there was a dampness in the air so my hair was wrecked! 🤣4 -
Happy anniversary maman.
maybe try the Deciem website for the retinol. I buy my products directly from Deciem as Boots are often out of stock. Otherwise, Next stock some of the products and you can order with click and collect.
Sugar your Windrush project sounds really interesting and it’s nice to see that people are taking an interest in hearing thr voices of people who were directly or indirectly affected.Wednesday I was never a fan of River Phoenix, but loved Johnny Depp. I used to read all the teen magazine in the 90s - Smash Hits, Big, just 17, so i knew all the gossip (or rather, I believed all the PR).I’m now halfway through my isolation period. I had a lazy first few days and yesterday I decided to clear out of our paperwork and post, which has built up over the last year. It has given me a big boost to do something productive. I think I’ll do some fabbing this weekend, so I look good for my end of isolation 😂. Like Sugar, i stock up when things are on offer, so despite having to self isolate, I have enough stocks of beauty products to keep my going for a while.4 -
I used to read those magazines too Chanie.
Happy Anniversary Maman, hope you both enjoy your celebrations.
I have to go and get ready as my brother is coming over earlier to my house than I expected.2025 GOALS

We only have a few more days of self isolation (yippee), thanks goodness. It’s really strange to be without your sense of smell an taste for a prolonged period of time. OH said there was a funny smell in the kitchen and thought it was the cat and I had to tell him that I couldn’t help him locate the smell. Also with regards to taste, for the first few days, I relied on my ‘taste memory’, so if I was eating chicken, I could remember the taste, but that’s starting to fade now. It’s really strange because I can feel the sensations on my tongue (eg if I eat something spicy, I can feel the burn in my mouth, or if it’s sweet, my tongue tingles in a specific spot), it’s just I couldn’t tell you what that taste was.

I have had a busy weekend. I went out to the cafe on Friday for a meal and drinks and then out to an outdoor concert last night. I have got a walk planned for this week with another local group and then we have a supper club meetup Friday night and then seeing live music with some of them on Saturday night.
I am so glad I have made the effort to meet new people before the house move as it will make it easier to do it again when I live in the new area.

Wednesday your weekend sounds every enjoyable. I will be visiting your new area soon for a day by the seaside. I have a couple of other trips planned, but I have been holding out for a nice sunny day. It doesn’t look like that will happen. But we can still have fun, as long as it is dry and warm.I ordered a pair of heels last week. Possibly my first pair in years. I don’t know what came over me, but i just really wanted them and they were cheap.Edit - I just looked at the shoes again and realised why I bought them. They remind me of the style of shoe i wore in my teens in the 90s with a platform and block heel. I generally obey the rule of ‘If you remember it the first time around, you shouldn’t wear it when it’s in fashion again’. So I’m skating in thin ice ice 😂.4

Hello Ladies,
Wednesday you have a busy, fun filled weekend. Good on you. It is so good that some aspects of our lives is now a lot more like it was before this Pandemic.
Chanie, I hope you enjoy wearing your new heels.
My younger son is home for a week. Yippee!
I went to the pub on Friday night for a night of dancing, despite the fact that my hips and knees were both playing up and somewhat painful. I had to do a lot of my dancing sitting down, but once again I had a really enjoyable evening.
I am going to Karaoke tomorrow evening and one of my sisters who will be visiting family in London has decided to come along, so that will make it even more special for me. She is a better singer than me and she is really looking forward to singing in public again.5
