Thanks @sashybo. The starter retinol suggested in the article is from The Ordinary at Boots too. I'm going into the city centre on Thursday to have my eyebrows done so I'll look then. We have branches of Boots nearer but they don't stock much.
Not seen @Toni'sfriend or @thepurplepixie for a week or so. Is all OK?🤔
Hope you're not feeling too unwell today @chanie.
A friend gave me some Boots No.7 serum to try. It's OK and I'll use it up but not a fraction as good as my favourite Clarins. I'll need to buy some more of that soon. I always buy it (and all my branded make up) in Boots as the Advantage points are worth having. It's a shame because the customer experience is better in John Lewis. At one time I watched out for the 10% off days in Debenhams but no longer. ☹
Any news on your house buying @Wednesday2000? The house next door to us has been put with another agent and the price dropped by £5K as of yesterday. I'm not surprised as the developer was being greedy. I think he probably lost his previous buyer because he wouldn't compromise when the stamp duty holiday ended.
It's a glorious day here, dry and sunny. DH and I are planning to get out for a walk this afternoon to make the most of it. 😊

I haven't heard anything more about the house move Maman. We paid for the searches. I can't remember if I said that already.
It's very hot and sunny here too. I just went out for a walk to Tesco and I'm not sure if the sun protection I'm using is working that well.
I was just doing some cleaning as the house looks really scruffy now we are not having any people round to view our house. I need to do some vacuuming too.
I bought some bottles of sparkling water from Tesco and then bought a kindle book for £1.99 that someone I follow on Instagram recommended. I ordered some (cheaper end) hair straighteners from Amazon that are arriving later but that really has to be the last purchase in a while. I have spent loads of money since my dog died and I know we need the money saved up to move house.
We are going out Friday but it should be quite reasonable as it is happy hour for cocktails and I think we will just share a meal between us. My brother is taking care of my dog so we don't need to board her at the vet. We have got our haircuts next week but I have put the money aside for that already. I do have another local meetup next week too but everyone is bringing a dish to share so that shouldn't be expensive either.

I think they have Clarins.
Every so often they do a 20% code off everything on the site, and they have just started one of those offers.
Its free delivery for orders over £30, they are on Topcashback, and they do their own version of the Boots points that you can use against future purchases.
I like several products from French Pharmacy ranges, every so often they do 1/3 off those. So for years now I have put in an order a couple of times a year to stock up.
It's not the same as a nice mooch about in a beauty hall, but is certainly cheaper6 -
Hello Ladies,
It was great going to visit my elderly aunt in the care home that she resides in. I had to book a slot for the visit and I had to take a lateral flow test last night, so that I had a text on my phone to prove that I was negative from the NHS. I could not stay long, because of ongoing Covid restrictions, but it was so lovely to finally visit her. She has cognitive and physical health issues, but she enjoys the interaction. She does not recognise me, she constantly thought I was my sister M, but I did not mind. We even had a laugh together about it.
I received my Boots online order today. I bought 6 boxes of Bassets adult multivitamins on buy one get one free and saved myself £16.50. I also bought 2 No7 Lash Impact mascaras that were half price saving me £13.50. I then got the No7 Limited Edition Bronze Heat face and eye palette worth £25 for free as I had purchased 2 No7 products. I also got free delivery worth £3.50.
I am retuning to Karaoke tonight! Yeah!4 -
All go for you @sugarbaby. 😁 Have a great time at karaoke.
Excellent savings on your Boots order but I'm going to look at the Escentual site that @littlegreenparrot posted about (Thanks😊). Just buying my serum could save me £15. 😁
That sounds like a good balance of spending @Wednesday2000. Of course you'll want things for your new home but you do need a bit of a social life in the meantime. We've stayed in for long enough.
We're going out for a meal on Friday night for our wedding anniversary. It looks like the weather will be good so I can wear one of my dresses without needing to wrap up. We had a good, brisk walk with some friends this afternoon and heard that our Thursday morning walking group is restarting so that'll be good to get back to.5 -
Thanks for all your kind words, I’m feeling okay. I think my case was a mild one, as it just feels like a cold but I still can’t smell or taste anything.5

I've had a really good pamper session this morning including a defuzz.😊
I was quite surprised how much my toe nails had grown when I took off the polish. I've made an appointment for next Monday with the podiatrist. I may not bother to put more polish on before then as , even with a base coat, I find it's hard to remove. That's the benefit of a pedicure, they do the polishing!
Another lovely day.😁6 -
Hello Ladies,
I had a lovely evening at Karaoke last night. There were so many singers present, so I only got to sing 2 songs. I sang Hurt So Good by Susan Cadogan and It's Now Or Never by Elvis. It was great singing along with the other singers, but I make my voice low as I do not want to sing over the other singers.
It was such lovely weather that I wore a cerise pink short sleeve top with a simple black skirt and took a cardigan with me for the journey home after Karaoke. I wore a pair of Van Dal black patent leather sandals.6 -
It's good to know that people are returning in numbers to their favourite haunts @sugarbaby125. I don't know if you made a deliberate choice but Elvis died on 16th August 1977. I met my DH on 13th so it was very much in the news that week with his music being played everywhere. We married 3 years to the day we met so it's our anniversary tomorrow. 😍
After I posted earlier, I decided to try and get a pedicure appointment instead of the podiatrist (which I need to cancel). My feet are in pretty good condition so it made a nice change. Unlike the podiatrist, they use a foot spa and a massage chair so it's a lovely experience. I went for a bright red on my nails so now I can wear sandals if it's warm when we go out tomorrow evening.
I ordered the Clarins serum from Escentual to take advantage of the 20% off. I added in the Benefit High beam that I like to highlight my eyes and cheekbones as well so saved about £17 altogether plus free postage. Unfortunately The Ordinary retinol was out of stock so I'll look in Boots for that tomorrow when I get my eyebrows done. 😊6 -
sugar am pleased to hear you had a nice time at karaoke and got to sing a few songs.
maman happy anniversary for you and DH.
im feeling better, but the cabin fever is really starting to get to me. I can’t wait until we can go out. I have some holiday booked for next week and have a few ideas for outdoor trips (socially distanced of course).
