Well done pixie. I've been using local supermarkets throughout with no problems. I went to Sainsburys last week and it was interesting that most people were still choosing to wear masks. The few that weren't seemed to have a definite challenge in their body language. It may have been my imagination. 🤣
I've really been missing galleries during lockdown. My art appreciation class has done a few bits online but probably won't start up again until October as they always have a long summer break. Now you've reminded me that our local gallery has a new exhibition with some pictures borrowed from the National Gallery matched with some from the city collection. What sort of artists does the GS like best?
Lots of animal print in the fashion pages today. I have some shoes and a camisole I bought for the holiday that never was. 🤣7 -
Well my weight has stayed the same for the second week in a row. I don't know what's going on! But every time I feel a bit despondent I remind myself that I have lost and plod on.
I'm still keeping to my skincare regime and in addition I've bought a deep cleansing face wash. That does seem to be making a difference.
Hairdresser this morning. That always spurs me on.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
Maman very few wearing masks, I wore mine. I haven't been to supermarkets much at all for the past 18 months or so but not being able to get there under my own steam was really depressing. I have one supermarket I could normally walk to but my foot isn't healed enough for that, well I might get there, I probably wouldn't get back. That's where I drove yesterday so very short drive but I was starting to worry about losing my nerve. I know other people in my age group, late 60s, who have had that happen and I'm not ready to give up driving just yet.
Going out for a family lunch today, just a local steak house but looking forward to meeting up with people.7 -
Toni'sfriend, that must be disheartening. Do you think the weather might be part of it? I'm far less active in very hot weather so maybe that could be an issue. I'm sure if you keep going you will suddenly get a drop, I hope so anyway. Good luck.8

Believe it or not, Pixie. I was getting up early every day and going for a three or four mile walk last week so it can't be that. I'm sure it will sort itself out.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6

Sometimes exercise can work like that @Toni'sfriend. It's something to do with building muscle. Or I have heard that some people have been retaining fluid in the hot weather. Do you feel any thinner or perhaps notice it in your clothes rather than on the scales? Sometimes it's possible to be more toned from exercise while not losing weight. 🤔 Just keep plodding on, you'll get there. Hope you're pleased with your hair.
Your foot is taking a while @thepurplepixie but if you can drive that's a help. Strangely, I'm a confident driver but the world's worst passenger! 🤣 My DH drives well but I hate not being in control of the car. I hope you enjoyed your meal with the family.
It's our wedding anniversary in 2 weeks time. DH has talked about going away for a couple of nights but I'm not sure considering it's school holidays. Last year we just went out for a meal in our favourite restaurant. It was a super, balmy evening and I was able to wear my strappy Zara dress for the one and only time. Maybe I'll get to wear it again this year.

Toni'sfriend sorry that wasn't helpful. Hope it works out.

Hello Ladies,
Pixie, it is good that you managed to do a short drive so soon.
Toni's Friend, it is puzzling if you are eating healthy meals plus getting so much exercise, that once again you have not lost any weight. All I can say, is that all of us that are losing weight have had the same experience. When it happens to me, I try not to be so disheartened, that I start sabotaging my own efforts, I just keep plodding along until the weight loss starts to show on the scales again. As Maman suggests, my clothes are an even better barometer that I am on the right track, It is the best feeling wearing a skirt or top that 4 weeks previously was too tight, when for some reason my weight loss stalls for no discernible reason.
Last night was the Word Soul event in Walthamstow. I performed 3 of my poems and they were really well received. My younger son and daughter came with me to support me and that made it a very special evening for me.7 -
Every suggestion is helpful. Pixie. So thank you and please keep suggesting. It all helps.
My clothes do feel a bit looser especially around the waist and bust. Previously if I had stopped loosing weight I would have given up but not this time. I'm sure it's just a temporary hiccup.
I got my hair cut and coloured yesterday and I'm really very pleased with it. It looks lovely and shiny and straight. A few people commented on it.
So I'm off to have some fruit for breakfast and then go for another walk. Weather looks quite settled for walking today.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
I've managed a trip to Sainsbury's and I took two big bags of soft plastics for recycling. I wouldn't normally have as much but we had a new mattress delivered yesterday and the wrappings off that were almost a bagful without anything else. I was happy to see it all going to recycling and amazed at how quickly it has mounted up. Thanks to Maman for the tip.7
