Maman and Chanie such a shame for those children. What a horrible time it's been. I look at my GS who is 16 and he seems to have missed so much although he seems happy and has started a summer job and is loving the money. He was so excited when he got his first pay. He's got his induction day this week for 6th form college but leaving his school was a total non event, no leavers assembly, no prom. Hopefully finishing sixth form in two years will be a bit more exciting.
My two little GC, both pre school, are so clingy now, I hope all the children recover from this.5 -
I haven't lost any weight this week. Not quite sure why. I guess that just happens some times. I hadn't told anyone other than Himself and the Boy what I was doing but yesterday a neighbour said to me "Have you lost weight?" and other said "Have you just been to the hairdresser?" I hadn't. I'd just got the straighters out and done it myself. It fair gave me a boost.
Maman - I've taken your advice and started getting into a proper skin care regime. Just a simple one, morning and night, but I'm sure I'll see some results in a few weeks.
Now that we don't have to wait in for the court contacting Himself to report for jury service we've started walking again. Two miles yesterday and three today. Gradually building it up again. It's so hot, though that we're going out at 8.00am before it becomes uncomfortable to walk in.
I'm having a prawn salad for lunch. Really looking forward to that. I love seafood.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
Shame about the residential chanie but glad your son was able to get back into school for his last week.
It could be the heat that's stopping you lose this week TF, possibly some fluid retention. 🤔 So pleased for you getting compliments like that. It's great when other people take the trouble to comment. Just taking time to look after yourself is worth it, a bit of pampering never did anyone any harm. Improved skin is a bonus!
How are the house sales going Wednesday? It's all gone very quiet with the house next door to me. I suspect it's because of the end of the stamp duty holiday.
It's far too hot for me at the moment so have been largely hiding indoors for a few days. I can manage it when we're in Turkey but then we have a pool and a boat and an air conditioned bedroom! 😁
I do hope your washing machine is sorted now sugarbaby. It seems your insurance proved good value for money. I'm almost ashamed to admit that, although I've had my machine for years, I found a programme this morning that just takes 20 minutes including the second fastest spin. It's perfect for just refreshing clothes that aren't dirty but you want to change from feeling hot and sticky.
I'm out for lunch with friends later in the week so will get the chance to dress up a bit. My sleeveless dresses are coming into use at the moment but I'm more comfortable in the loose ones rather than anything too fitted. Next week we'll probably be moaning about rain!🤣7 -
Toni I love reading about the compliments you have been getting recently.I’m so pleased you have started a skincare regime. I think it is important to look after your skin. It is trial and error though, so if you find the products aren’t working for you, try something different.
Maman what type of food are you going to eat with your friends?
We are planning to take DS out for a meal the evening he finishes school to mark the event. Not sure where we are going yet.7 -
It's a lovely country pub chanie in a village north of Winchester.
The Fox Menu May, June 2021
It's definitely British type food and, to be fair to them, they've not bumped their prices up which many local places have post lockdowns. We've eaten there often but always in colder weather before so I've had lamb shank or something else quite hearty. Looking at the menu, I'd probably have bruschetta followed by seabass but they often have specials so I'll wait and see what's available.
What sort of meal would your boy enjoy? There is so much choice available. 🤔6 -
Hello Ladies,
I have a very busy week planned this week. I went to my Music Appreciation session today and it was really enjoyable. It was the last one in a 6 week course, but they are hoping to get the funding to do another one in 6 weeks time.
I have my creative writing sessions tomorrow (Walthamstow) and Thursday. On Friday I will be performing some of my poems at the Open Mic event at Black Cultural Archives, run by Poetic Unity.
On Saturday night I will be returning to the pub I used to go to before the Pandemic put paid to dancing in pubs for an night of dancing and Sunday I will be returning to Karaoke in Thornton Heath.
Toni's Friend, you can be content with not gaining any weight this week. You got those 2 compliments, because you are taking fabbing to heart now.
I got a compliment today about my dancing. The female tutor for the Music Appreciation session said 'Dolores you are a very good dancer, you dance from your soul' and I thanked her.7 -
That was a lovely compliment sugarbaby. Just had to say, have a good time when you return to the pub. I'm curious to know whether the famous Wayne will be there. 🤔🤣7

Hello Ladies,
Yes Maman my washing machine is working well since it was repaired thank goodness.
Wayne does go to the same pub. I am not alerting him to my proposed visit, as then there is less chance of hime being aware of my presence in the pub. Over a year ago, they moved the tables for dominoes, cards and the pool table upstairs to another room, so now it is just those who want to listen to the music and dance that are downstairs.
I have spoken to Wayne very infrequently over the last 2 years, but he always ends up going on about how much he misses me, which annoys me, so we have never spoken for long. He made his choice and if his choice did not make for a happy life for him, then tough. I moved on and I soon realised how much better off I was without him, so I will never take him back, no matter how much he begs.5 -
His loss sugarbaby but I'm sure you know how to handle him if he does appear! 😉
My DGD tested positive today despite 2 vaccines. She hasn't any symptoms and only went along for the PCR test with her mother just in case. DD is still negative despite being in very close contact with the child in her class that resulted in them all being sent home. So now they are both isolating until the end of the month.
I went to pick up some shopping for them today. They weren't going to starve but I bought them some treats to cheer them up like ice lollies! Fortunately they have a comfortable home and large garden so they'll be OK. I was more comfortable in Sainsbury's this afternoon than I've been all week thanks to the air conditioning. I noticed that the majority of people were still wearing masks. It's obviously optional for staff now too.
i wore a loose sleeveless dress today, It's well washed but really cool. I have a dress I want to wear tomorrow for my lunch with friends but it really needs ironing and it's so hot to get the iron out! I might brave it later this evening! 😁7 -
Hope everyone has been enjoying the weather. I enjoyed my DD and SIL visiting, gave me a boost. My foot is healing well, it is going much faster than they said. The pain is much less and I am walking quite well, not long distances but we went down to the beach and I walked from the car to the benches on the prom and it was lovely. I was able to manage without walking sticks all day. I'm looking forward to being able to drive.
Hope your DD and DGD are doing OK maman. We never stop worrying about them do we. I wish my DD was closer.6
