Hello Ladies,
Thanks LL. It is always flattering to be admired Wednesday. He looked incredibly young even though he proved he was in fact 45 years old, he looked more 30 years old. It was not that I did not find him attractive, he was just not right for me, so no point in exchanging numbers and starting that dialogue.
Being admired and applauded as a writer and performance poet is far more flattering and gratifying for me though.
Arthritis is now playing havoc with my grip in my hands. I just dropped a mug and broke it.

Well done for drawing that line LATTL. I think it helps to treat yourself as a project. Self care is so important and I work best with goals to tick off, literally from a list if it helps.
It has been increasingly difficult to keep motivated through the lockdowns LL. Every day felt like Groundhog Day and no incentive to get anything done as there was always tomorrow. Normally (remember that??😉)I have busy days with various appointments and meeting people and then fit all the usual chores around them but there has been this endless nothing with no structure. Fortunately I found that sticking to my habits like meal planning, healthy eating, alcohol free during the week, pampering sessions etc. gave me back some control. I'm so pleased that with the help of this thread and a couple of others that I use, that I'd ingrained these habits beforehand.
The Miracle Mornings sound interesting. I'm not sure I'd want to do journaling but like all programmes I suppose it can be adapted. It's like MK. I think it's brilliant but really couldn't get the airy fairy parts.
I'm a big football fan but I really think the media has gone OTT in the past few days. I suppose people are desperate for distraction. I'll watch tonight and enjoy it but I've been trying to avoid reading/listening to/watching all the hype. It doesn't help that I'm not English but Luke Shaw was from our academy before being sold to Man United so I'll focus on him. It makes us laugh when commentators are going on about him running down the left wing and making crosses into the box as they've only just noticed whereas he had that ability years ago which was exactly why MUFC bought him from us and now try to claim credit! 🤣
Great compliment to have such a persistent admirer sugarbaby. 😁
We're having a roast today. It'll have to be beef and horseradish! 😉6 -
Here we go........save you all some time and/or money.
The miracle mornings six steps programme. Just remember this acronym.S A V E R S
S...SILENCE. Enjoy a quiet cup of coffee or tea in silence. If you like to pray or meditate then do so......if not then just sit quietly and enjoy a few minutes solitude. If the weather permits and you have outdoor space then sit outside, failing that sit by a window.A.....AFFIRMATIONS. If you want to chant affirmations or Buddhist style mantras then do so. I don't bother but what I do is listen to a podcast or motivational speech. I sometimes combine this with part of my exercise routine. The motivational speeches keep me committed and on track by strengthening the mind/body connection, working my mind in conjunction with my muscles.V......VISUALISATION. To help Focus on your goal, and your future you. Try to envisage what the new you looks like, what is your new life like, how does it look, how are you feeling. A picture paints a thousand words.E......EXERCISE. If you do it first thing then you won't be distracted by your to do list or "forget" to do it later. Do it before you get too tired or get the chance to talk yourself out of it.R.....READING. It could be a chapter of book, or a magazine or blog article or some motivational quotes. Stretch your mind and feed it with new information. Try to make it positive rather than negative input. Remember just as we are what we eat, our brains are also what they consume. So feed your brain good stuff. Remember CNN stands for Constant Negative News. 😂. You don't need it.S......SCRIBE......journal if you wish. If that seems alien then maybe just have a little notebook on hand to jot down your ideas. If you are feeling sorry for yourself, try writing down three things you are grateful for. If you write down your goals you are more likely to achieve them. Putting things on paper is a form of commitment. Writing things down helps commit them to memory and programmes the brain. There you go.........The condensed version. 😂🤣7 -
A vegan YouTuber was talking about the Miracle Morning book the other day and she said it was good for her to develop healthy habits and a morning routine. I know I have read it before.
I definitely make sure I get daylight everyday and now I want to exercise every day too. I can't remember if I said this but when I was walking around the coast the other day I was on my own as it was when I had just viewed a few houses and one was the one we want to buy. I walked down the road to the beach and three people jogged past me and I would say that they were all older than me and it made me think I should be in better shape as I'm only 45!
I read a good book the other day called How to Be Yourself and that is why I'm going out to meet people as the pandemic made me aware that I have spent so much time alone the past few years, even before the pandemic. I got into a rut caring for my husband and then we had a great time going out for a year and then Covid hit.

I am going for the Italian meal this week with the new group I met and someone else wants to organise regular coffee mornings too.I was thinking about volunteering too but I think I will do after the move as it seems a bit pointless doing it now.

He is looking forward to the actual match but as he said to me, "What else is there to say, we keep hearing the same thing."
I'm a football philistine so can't really judge, the last professional football match I saw was George Best playing for Man U. I have to say that I don't think any of the teenage girls I went with were interested in the football.5 -

Morning fabbers.
Another day in the office. It feels surprisingly ‘normal’ considering last night. I remember going to work the Monday after Princess Diana died and feeling the sadness all around.Like purple’s grandson, I was only really interested in the football because it was something different. I do support England, as my birth country, but am not normally bothered about football. We all watched the match together as a family, so that was nice.
I’ve had a busy weekend. We had DS year 6 leavers party, which I have been helping to organise. It went well and the children really enjoyed themselves. We also bought DS secondary school uniform, which cost a fortune and we still haven’t bought it all. The uniform shop gets really busy over the summer, with 2 hour waits, so I wanted to get the logo’d items quickly.Plus, we visited DN at her University.I told her that she is going to find it really different moving from London to somewhere smaller. She decided she wanted to go to the cinema at 10pm and I pointed out to her that unlike the huge cinemas we are used to, where you can just decide on a whim, to watch a film, it would be highly unlikely that anything would be showing at that time. Also, many shops on the High Street would be shut on Sunday’s!!!Finally, I had my first jab yesterday!!! I could have had it done weeks ago - there was no particular reason for not doing so. As they are doing walk ins, I just turned up and got it done. There was no queue, either, so it was very quick.5 -
Well done on getting your jab Chanie.
I'm in pain this morning, not sure if I've done something to my foot in the night. It doesn't seem right that it is getting more painful.
I didn't watch the football but feel sad for Gareth Southgate and the players. It must be hard to lose on penalties.4 -
God, that was awful last night.
I was gutted.
I was so hungover this morning but I had to get up for the chiropodist this afternoon. It's a small business so I didn't want to cancel at the last minute. I was thinking that is probably the last time I will ever go there as I should have moved house before I would need to go again. My feet feel all fresh and tidied up now.
I just stopped off and got chips, salad, pitta bread and a coke from the kebab shop. It went down very nicely for my hangover.
I got a new electric toothbrush and some dye to dye that navy dress I wear all the time as it has really faded. I am dyeing a couple of my husband's combat trousers and a couple of vest tops too. When I was decluttering my clothes the other day I realised I had nearly 20 vest tops! I got it down to 15. I found £20 in his trousers too.
I got my dogs some new red collars and a carry bag to take my cats to the vet. I thought it might be big enough to carry the dogs but it isn't.
There are 8 of us going for the meal this week so that should be good. I don't know what the restaurant is like but I will wear one of my dresses and ankle boots.

Hi, hope everyone is well. Lovely morning here. After two bad nights I gave in and took painkillers last night, I slept for 6.5 hours which has made me feel alot better. I do feel a bit nauseous but that is what pain killers do to me but I think at the moment it is probably worth it to get some sleep.
I've got family coming to visit at the weekend, I've warned them that the house is a tip and I won't be waiting on them as I can't, they've said they are going to cook for me. I'm hoping someone might offer to vacuum.5
