I've lost another pound this week. It's still going in the right direction. I'm eating lots of fruit, fish, salad and vegetables and I'm feeling so much better for it. I've not had an alcoholic drink since the middle of May - just low calorie tonic with a slice of lemon or lime and do you know I don't miss it one little bit. I'm not noticing the weight loss to look at but I can definitely feel the waistband getting looser.
I bought two new tops for my holidays as a reward for reaching my first medium goal. Quite summery and pretty in a style I like wearing. When I reach the next goal I think I'll buy some new trousers.
I really need to get a grip and start looking after my skin properly. It was looking quite good a while back but now it's looking a bit dull and blotchy. I've got all the products I need. Just need to get the motivation.
The great cellar clearout continues. I think I've just about reached the stage where I'm going to need some help to disentangle the mess. There are three vacuum cleaners in there and nobody can even remember us having one of them. I dread to think what's at the bottom of the pile.
Well, must get on. Hope everyone is OK and fabulous.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.5 -
I'm doing well today, I have some flowers delivered that some friends sent with a get well message. Very pretty selection of yellow flowers including yellow roses. I've also had a £30 refund. I complained about a delivery that was messed up, before my accident, that left me waiting for a delivery on 4 separate days. I suppose if you add up my time £30 isn't much but I think we will use it to go for a meal when I'm a bit more mobile or to buy some new flat sandals with a rigid sole which I will need when I get out of my Beckham boot. Any suggestions welcome. Apparently the two important things are it needs adjustable straps for the swelling going down and a very rigid sole.
Well done on the weight loss Toni'sfriend.5 -
I'm so pleased your son could have an occasion to mark moving to secondary school chanie. It's an important right of passage I think. Well done for helping to get it organised.
Was it you had reusable make up pads? I want to get some, particularly for mascara, but was wondering if they wash clean OK? I'm not ready for them yet. I've used up all the lint type ones now I'm finishing off some wipes.
I don't know if anyone has seen the information about soft plastic recycling.

I've been keeping stuff since about last Friday and it's surprising how much I've accumulated. It's mainly the bags that fruit and veg come in. I know that many people choose to go to a greengrocer but the price is so much higher around here.
I do hope your family all rally round to help pixie. I'm sure they will and make sure you let them! 😉
I've had a good pamper session this morning. When I'm sitting down later, I need to file my nails and cream my feet as my heels are a bit rough. I've not found it easy blow drying my hair since it was cut last week. It's so much easier to get it round a brush when it's longer. I was thinking that my mother had the right idea, getting her hair done professionally every week! 😁6 -
Well done on the weight loss Toni.
That is nice to get the flowers and the money back Pixie.
The dyeing turned out quite well, my navy dress came out much darker and so did my husband's trousers. One of the vest tops was pink and it came out a dark blue/purple colour.
My skin has been quite dry lately. I think it is the new foundation I bought which is annoying.
I'm making a vegetable pasta for brunch today. I'm not sure what to wear tomorrow night as I thought a dress, tights and boots might be too warm. It feels muggy to me.

Oh I missed your post TF. Well done on the weight loss. 👏👏👏
It's well worth trying to get into a good skincare routine. Try to set yourself some time every day and it will become a habit. It won't cost you anything if you have the products. You may not have overnight success but it's worth it just to pamper yourself. Even on days when I'm not going to wear makeup, I always cleanse and moisturise. I'm lazy and always do it in the morning (rather than at night) but I love the fresh feel. ☺️6 -
Thanks for the Sainsburys link maman, my local store is one of the 500. I've got 4 different bins/recycling boxes, DH will be flummoxed with another one to sort out. I don't know why he can't get his head round it but I have all these boxes and have to sort them again when I take them out as inevitably things will be in the wrong box. Mind you GS isn't much better.
I've been having periods of feeling really down but I had a read on the net and apparently that is normal after this sort of break, mixture of pain and boredom and frustration so I guess I have to ride that out
I don't have very friendly neighbours but one saw me today and asked what had happened and amazed me by offering to help if I needed anything. So that is a positive isn't it. It's only taken nearly 25 years but maybe we are being accepted!

maman thanks for the info on the soft recycling. It’s something I’m definitely interested in doing myself. We recycle glass, plastic bottles, paper and food waste, so our waste bin is normally filled with the types of plastic that Sainsburys will now take. I’ve always hated seeing our bin full of plastic wrappers.
I do use washable face pads, but I use mine to apply toner to my face when it’s clean, so they are still lovely and white. I’ve had mine for 2 years now and they are have lasted well. There are lots on ebay/Amazon. You may want to try some dark/patterned ones if you are going to use them to remove mascara. Ebay sellers will sell them in small quantities, cheaply, so I bought a couple to try out and then bought more once I was happy with them.

Hello Ladies,
Toni's Friend, well done on losing more weight, you are definitely on the right track to reaching your next weight loss goal.
I had Music Appreciation yesterday afternoon.I am going to Walthamstow this afternoon for my poetry workshop and I am really looking forward to it.
My washing machine has broken down again, but I have washing machine insurance, so I am waiting to hear from the washing machine engineer. I hope it will be repaired quickly.
Pixie, just ask your family who will be visiting to do your housework for you. Do not be shy about asking, when you really need their help. Try to rest your foot, even though you find it frustrating to be incapacitated. I hope you had another good night of sleep, as it makes so much difference.6 -
Thanks Sugarbaby, I will take your advice. My DH is going to drive us down to a local beach this afternoon, there is a little open air cafe right by the disabled parking spaces so hopefully we will have a cup of tea and a cake and enjoy the view. It is lovely here today so it will be nice to be out.7

It is very warm so I'm going to wear a short sleeved dress, leggings and sandals to the restaurant tonight. It's about a 30 minute walk there so I will do that instead of getting a bus.
I have washed and deep conditioned my hair and I'm just doing some laundry. It feels even hotter with the tumble drier on in here! I will do my fingernails later. I don't know if I can be bothered to do my toenails. I'm just charging my new electric toothbrush. I was thinking about whitening my teeth but I don't know if it would make much difference between now and going out.
