Hope you had a good time last night Wednesday. It was a beautiful evening so good for a walk to your restaurant. 😊 It's warm here again today although not as sunny. Weekend looks good too. I'm so much brighter when the sun shines.
We had a surprise visit from DH's sister and BIL yesterday. They did phone to ask and it was really good to see them for the first time since March 2020. We had coffee then went out to lunch and fortunately I'd got dressed yesterday in one of my White Stuff skirts and the leaf green White Stuff top that I bought from the CS the other day so looked quite presentable for a country pub. I might have chosen one of my dresses but didn't want to make my SIL feel uncomfortable by going off to change. We were able to sit outside on a terrace in the sun so had a really good time.
Hope your foot is improving pixie. If not, maybe you should call the GP and ask if it's normal to hurt after a week or so?
Have you had a go at that allegorical writing yet sugarbaby? I was wondering how you'd got on. 🤔
I got weighed this morning and I'm exactly the same weight as I was 8 weeks ago. I'm delighted with that as it means I haven't succumbed to snacking or, in my case, extra drinking during this last lockdown. 😇5 -
Hello Ladies,
Maman, I did a piece of creative writing at the weekend. When I read it out to my daughter, she was not sure if this piece of creative writing really qualified under the banner of allegorical writing, but my tutor was happy with it when I read it out in today's creative writing session.
I went to the other creative writing workshop in Walthamstow yesterday. More women and one young man turned up, so there was 9 of us in total. It was another fun filled session. We had to write a poem as a group, each of us writing at least 2 lines of the poem each and the result turned out good for both groups. I wrote a new poem when I was there and I also wrote another new poem on my tube train journey to Brixton.4 -
That sounds like a nice trip Maman. Funnily enough I had a telephone consult with the GP today about something but we did talk about my foot, he seems to think it is doing OK. I am at a stage now where when I get upin the morning it doesn't feel too bad after 8 or 9 hrs rest with my leg elevated but as the day goes on it gets more painful but the GP said it is right to keep using it and in the long run there will be a better result as long as I don't do too much. They never really explain what too much is which makes it difficult but he said the pain will stop me if I do too much so I will go with that.
Your trip sounds lovely. It is really hot here today and I suspect everywhere is going to be very crowded. I'm hoping to go out with DD when she's here. I can come out of my Beckham Boot next week but need to find suitable sandals.
Sugarbaby your writing groups sound like good fun. I do miss some of these opportunities you get living in a big city.6 -
You're RIGHT pixie, it is difficult to know the balance between rest and exercise but it's good that you had some reassurance from the GP.
It's absolutely glorious here, hot and sunny. I've been dancing this afternoon and it was hard work but enjoyable all the same.
We haven't got anything planned for the weekend but if I'm around the house and garden I'll wear my new sundress from Matalan. It's far too short to go out in. I bought it with sunshine holidays in mind. 😁6 -
Hello Ladies,
I am feeling really relaxed, because my washing machine was repaired today. As I had remembered to buy annual washing machine insurance after the last repair I had to pay for was so costly, then I did not need to pay anything today.
As it only broke down on Monday, it is good that they were able to send a washing machine engineer only a few days later. I am going to spend today and tomorrow getting all of the different loads of washing and drying done until it is all clear. Then on Sunday my son is going to bring his laundry, which I will get done on Sunday, then start next week with all of the washing and drying complete.

I love my new bathroom. I just felt the need to tell someone. I had a long shower, I'd love a soak in the bath but I'm a bit worried that I'd get stuck so will wait for foot to improve but it is the most perfect room I've ever had. I could stand and look at it all day.
I think the painkillers are affecting my brain.10 -
No, it's not the painkillers pixie, because I feel the same! We've had our new bathroom for almost 2 years now and we still love it!! 😍7

It's great isn't it. I love it every day. The only downside is I feel the whole house needs a refresh, well apart from the bits I've done recently. I need a new ensuite and a new kitchen. I think a lottery win would also be useful.7
-
You've done a fair bit of the house recently pixie. Don't be despondent. Obviously a kitchen is a big outlay but perhaps the ensuite could be next to save up for. 🤔
I got to wear my new sundress today. On holiday I'd wear a bikini underneath but the shoulder straps are wide enough to cover my bra so I'm happy. I hate bra straps showing.
A child in my DD's class has tested positive today, just 8 years old. So they all have to isolate for the last week of term and she has to teach remotely. Not the way they wanted to end the school year. ☹️7 -
pixie am pleased you are enjoying your new bathroom.
maman also pleased you are getting to wear your new dresses.
DS was supposed to be on a residential last week, but someone tested positive the day before he was supposed to go, so his class have had to isolate and the trip was cancelled. Luckily, the isolation is over and he gets to spend his last few days at school, before he leaves for secondary school.6
