sugar I can imagine you and your family sitting around your new table having lots of fun.
i had my facial this week and really enjoyed it. I had a dermaplaning facial and whilst my skin isn’t fully clear, I can see an improvement in its texture.4 -

Made an investment for my nails. I read about crystal nail files and how much better they were for your nails so I have bought myself a Leighton Denny crystal nail file. £12.50 seems alot compared to a packet of emery boards but I've used them and the finish is great and it is so fast. Everyone probably knows about them but if they don't then it is worth considering them.
I've been lazy, was supposed to be starting to gloss the skirting boards today but I haven't done anything. I had two of my kids, their partners and GC visit for the weekend. I suppose it is lockdown but it felt quite daunting to cater for 8 of us and I feel tired so decided to have a rest today and start painting tomorrow.
Glad you enjoyed the facial Chanie. It is a lovely treat isn't it.4 -
I'll look into that diamond nail file pixie. It may be expensive but will soon pay for itself compared with a professional manicure. I'm really pleased with my fingernails at the moment. I've been caring for them myself throughout lockdown and they're looking good and healthy. I have a white pencil that gives the impression of a French manicure. I can't remember where I bought it but it gives a good, groomed look.
It's bright and dry here at the moment although yet more rain is promised later! We got out for a walk this morning. Only just under the 6000 steps but it was worth making the effort. Yesterday I cleaned all the bathroom tiles and it was good to see them sparkling in the sunshine earlier. The room is fully tiled and while I clean the ones in the shower cubicle regularly, some of the others just get an occasional wipe. It's about 18 months since the room was refurbished but I still love it so much that I take a lot of pride in keeping it pristine. 😊
We're going out for dinner with friends on Friday so another occasion to look forward to. I'm really enjoying wearing dresses again after months in lockdown wearing leggings. It should be warmer and drier by the end of the week too so I may not need boots!
Hope all is well with everyone. 😊7 -
Hello Ladies,
Pixie, I use Avon crystal nail files. I bought mine on eBay, so they were very inexpensive. I bought 10 of them which came in their individual plastic sleeves for less than £5 for the 10 including P & P . They proved to be so much better for my nails. I had previously used emery boards, but they suddenly started to cause damage to my finger nails. I am still using my 1st one, so it will be a long time before I have used all 10 of them.
I won £250 in a Tesco text to win competition on Friday. I was so surprised and pleased. It made my weekend.
It is my younger daughter's 29th birthday today. We are having a lovely relaxing day together, eating lovely food treats including fresh strawberries. She has opened her cards and presents already. We will cut the cake when her brother arrives.6 -
I might get that Leighton Denny crystal nail file too.
I got my PIP payment awarded. Hmm, I had read so many horror stories about claiming it but they made the payment fairly quickly after my phone assessment. I probably should have claimed years ago when I was diagnosed with the first condition. Oh well.
My husband has his cancer checkup procedure this weekend. We are trying to be positive as we can't do anything about the results. I have my second Covid jab on Monday too.
I have decided to go to a community meet-up in July. I think the pandemic has made me want to engage more with my local community.

What a nice win for the weekend Sugarbaby. Glad you found the crystal nail files good. I'm really impressed with mine, I normally spend ages with an emery board and still find rough bits. I think it took about 1 minute to get all nails smooth. I'm really hoping it will make a difference. If anyone is interested in the Leighton Denny one it is buy one get one half price in Boots so my daughter has a little present when I see her at the weekend. She has inherited my dodgy nails. I could kick myself because I meant to look at that tinted moisturiser when I was in Boots and completely forgot about it.
I've spent the day stripping paint off the stair handrail, what a mess! I think it will be worth it as the finish will be better but it hasn't been fun. Tomorrow I plan to paint the stair hand rail and do the skirting boards, then Thursday do some (maybe all) the doors in the hall. I will then have a weekend break again, it isn't a race so it's OK to time myself.
Congratulations on the PIP award Wednesday. I hope you get a good result for your husband as well.
I'm off to take GC to McDonalds, I'm not keen but I don't feel like cooking so they got to choose where we go.

Hello Ladies,
My son and daughter helped me to unpack my new solid oak bookcase. I still have room to fill with more books. They helped me to break down all of the packaging into manageable pieces, then they took the bags of packaging material and cardboard and put it into the communal dustbins

I'm loving the bookcase sugarbaby, but I fear that's only a fraction of your books! 🤣 I really like the way you've gone for all light colours in your new furniture both the light oak and cream leather. Is that all you need now? 🤔
When we were out today we went into a bric a brac/antique shop. I have to stop myself buying 'stuff' but I did notice they were selling upcycled side tables. They were just like my dark oak ones but painted in light colours. 🤔🤔🤔7 -
Thanks Maman. No that is all of the books I own. The other books are on the 2 shelving units in my Living room. I am happy that I have space on the bookcase to be filled with some more new books5
