Toni's Friend thank you for the compliment. I love all of my furniture purchase. My Living room looks the way I always wanted it to now and it is even more comfortable for the whole family

Lovely photo sugarbaby, it looks like a really good quality bookcase. I give most books away when I've read them but I have a classics collection that my Gran bought me in the early 60s. Bless her she didn't have much money and it was one of those buy a book every month things. Probably cost a fortune. I've told my daughter they can do what they like with my things when I did but if she throws granny's book out I will haunt her forever. I also use the library which is very MSE and with so many libraries being closed I like to support them.
I'm having a break from painting, I'd forgotten how the fumes can make me feel ill so I think I need a break.5 -
Oh meant to ask has anyone tried one of those window cleaning things, they are electric and I think you wash the window and then go over it and it sucks everything up and leaves no streaks (hopefully.) If anyone has any experience I'd love to hear it.5

My DH is another with masses of books. He mostly reads nonfiction so keeps the all.

Fortunately now that the girls have left home we have the space for a study. There's another room which has bookshelves at picture rail height so that keeps them fairly tidy. I'm more like you Wednesday in that I mostly buy fiction from the CS and then donate them back when read or pass them on to family and friends.7 -
Maman your husband's study is great. So organised, he is a man after my own heart. If I had the space, I would have more bookcases full of books.6

Do you mean this sort of thing pixie?
Buy Karcher WV 1 Handheld Window Cleaner | Window cleaners | Argos
We have one that came 'free' with a vacuum cleaner or other appliance that we bought some while ago. It does work but I find an ordinary squeegee just as effective.

We have Georgian style windows with 6 small panes so DH has cut one down to fit perfectly. I keep one in the bathroom as well as it's brilliant for the shower screen.
It's a gorgeous day here, 20 degrees and bright and sunny. I'm so pleased that the weather has changed just in time for the Bank Holiday and Half term. I think it's going to be a bit dull tomorrow and then really lovely all next week. 😁6 -
Thanks Maman, I'll give that a go.
Beautiful day here as well, it seems really busy so must be lots of holidaymakers.

Maman I love the organisation of your bookshelf, it looks like it was made for your stuff.
sugar I’m please you have finally got the bookshelf of your dreams.
I don’t like having lots of books at home. When I’ve finished with a book, I normally drop at off my local train station as it has a book exchange. Or, I read books on the Library app. I haven’t read a book for a few months now. I go through phases where I’ll read obsessively for a few month and then stop for a few months.5 -
I've always got books on the go, both paper & Kindle. My fiction books live on shelves I put up at the top of the stairs (sharing space with my Covid tests and ivy), non fiction are in a bookcase beside the back door & cook books between my kitchen & dining table 😁
