I've been busy, ihired a carpet shampooer and have lovely clean carpets, taken all the cushion covers and washed them, cleaned skirting boards. I've decided to have some new vinyl flooring in the downstairs loo,it isn't big so won't cost alot and we have to pay the fitter a minimum fee to do the bathroom so thought we might as well. I'm going to redo the woodwork and emulsion it before the floor is done. As you can probably imagine I'm feeling tired but the house is starting to look how I want it to so it is worth it.
I've been and voted, always do as I feel it is disrespectful to the women who fought for us to waste a vote.
Had a cry last night, watched Coronation St. I've got a soft spot for Roy and he made me cry. Feel a bit of a fool, maybe I was too tired.
Hope everyone is well.9 -
Purple I haven’t watched Corrie in years, but I do remember Roy. He is certainly a memorable character.
Wednesday I hope your husbands tests go okay and that it is good news.
maman beach pyjamas sound amazing. I googled them and saw some examples of 1930s ones, which would have been made to measure. It would be so amazing to have clothes made to fit your body exactly, so flattering. It’s a shame it’s such a dying art.I was working in a polling station yesterday and I’m feeling quite tired now. Like purple I agree it is so important to vote. In addition to the women who lost their lives to get the vote, there are so many people living under regimes where they can’t vote or are forced to vote for certain parties under duress. Although I’m hugely disillusioned with all parties, I still believe it is important to vote anyway.7 -
This is my badge/brooch I wore on my coat yesterday. 😊
I can cope with simple dressmaking chanie, but I can't do proper tailoring. It does help when I'm shopping though as I know what's worth paying for and what I can do myself.
I think it's a good idea to have new vinyl pixie. I've had every type of floor covering in the bathrooms and kitchen over the years but vinyl is by far the best IMO. There's so much choice of design now too. 😊7 -
Hello Ladies,
I managed to buy another cream leather sofa for my Living room from eBay. Another unbelievable bargain at only 49p!!!
It is installed in my Living room and I think it looks great.I am so pleased that my perseverance paid off.

Morning, dipping my toe in here, although I read most of the posts.
Agree so important to vote, and always took my daughters and explained how important and the battle for women to have the vote. I feel so frumpy the last few years and my house so on the decluttering thread. I do put earrings on in the morning - just studs but makes a difference, and had my haircut a couple of weeks ago which helped.
Lockdown love handles + mean I can't get in 90% of my clothes (a little problem before l/d which got worse) but just started swimming again good for my mental and physical health. Most of my clothes I like although summer clothes more variable as some patterns and colours which I'm not so good at.
@sugarbaby125 so amazed at 49p and love the footstools.
One of my goals is to get more sleep which means bed early which is difficult, and woken this morning by the bins being emptied - 6 is too early on a saturday.

Hi TC77. I love decluttering but I am married to a hoarder so it is a bit of a sore point to say the least.
I have found a new moisturiser that really suits my skin. It is L'Oreal Hydra Genius. It is a slightly alarming shade of blue but I've been using it for a few days and it is great for me. I have been waking up with a tight itchy feeling to my skin however much cream I put on at night but this product has cured that. It is water based not oil so I don't look like an oil slick when going to bed. On a money saving site it is also cheap. The only downside is no SPF so in the morning a put a cream with SPF on top.
49p!!! I can't believe how you do it Sugarbaby. It looks new, what a bargain.
I did vote yesterday, only voting for the Police and Crime Commissioner here and we haven't got a result yet so not very exciting. They looked bored to death at the polling station as I was their only customer, maybe it got busy later.
Rain and grey skies here, we did intend to go out but not sure if we will bother.6 -
Thanks Chanie.x
Sugarbaby - 49p. OMG.I think I will look on ebay for furniture when we move house. I didn't realise you could get such bargains!
Hi to TC77, I recognise you from the other threads.
We have been decluttering to take some things to the dump today. We left some stuff outside yesterday and I said to my husband to obviously bring it in if it rains. I woke up today to pouring rain and the stuff left in the garden! Oh well, it is him going to be carrying the wet junk to the tip in his Mum's car, lol. He has to go to the vet afterwards as well to pick up some things.
I will be doing the bedding and laundry today and using the tumble dryer. I usually air dry clothes but once in a while I use the tumble dryer as it gets out all the pet fur properly.
I have a grocery delivery later and then we are going to watch some more of a show we started. We watched the first series and just started the second. I can't remember if I mentioned it on here. Men of a Certain Age.
My brother bought us tickets to a show next year in September. Hopefully it is far enough away that everything will be back to normal so that won't be postponed or cancelled.
There were tickets to a band that I haven't seen before (Royal Blood) that came out on Friday but it was for next March and I didn't want to get tickets as I can't really predict what life will be like that soon. I don't know where I will be living either.

I don’t know how you do it either, Sugarbaby. That’s gorgeous.
I love your brooch, Maman. l always vote too. My father instilled it into all of us from when we were little and my son is very politically minded. There has been a very high turnout here. I spent all day yesterday watching the results come in and I’ll probably do the same today.
Just stepped on the scales. Weight is going down very slowly but it’s in the right direction. Still a long way to go.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6
