Hello Ladies,
I managed to find the used solid oak nest of tables that I needed for my Living room for £10 on eBay yesterday and they were delivered today. I gave them a good clean with Flash lemon gel and hot water and they look great.
I gave my old red devil vacuum cleaner a good clean and I put it on the Estate I live on for anyone to help themselves. It went quite fast.It was too heavy for me to take to one of my local charity shops.
I had my 2nd Covid vaccine yesterday and I feel fine apart from a sore arm.5 -
Yet more bargains sugarbaby. Although they are hugely expensive compared with the sofas! 🤣 Great idea to give the vacuum cleaner away. I think it's such a kind gesture but the recycling is great for the environment too.
I don't count calories either. I think you can get obsessive. Although I first lost weight with Slimming World, that was 10 years ago and I still follow the basic healthy eating plan to maintain my weight . Meals are roughly made up of a third each, lean protein, carbs and vegetables, filling up on extra vegetables to make sure I'm not hungry. I do have treats but I try not to snack between meals. Personally I like to have wine at weekends but others prefer a few cakes or chocolate. It's a good idea to act now before it gets out of hand pixie.
I hope you enjoyed your spa treatment. I think I'll start looking out for Groupons for beauty treatments again as I haven't bothered for over a year. 😊6 -
Thanks for the diet tips, I won't bother with calories then. It sounds like my meals aren't a problem, I like lots of veg so that is probably closer to half the meal, I do eat meat but generally a small amount and I'm teetotal so that might help? My weakness is a sweet tooth and I think too much cake and chocolate while watching TV plus not going out much has been the problem. I'll see how it goes.
The Spa was lovely, they can't fully open as their main business is spa breaks or spa days and as they can't give you any drinks or food it doesn't work so they are just doing a few treatments for locals. It worked well as they weren't pressed for time so I had a very nice facial for dry skin, while the goodies were soaking she gave me a head massage which was lovely and then at the end she gave me a massage. I felt very thirsty afterwards which was weird as a rarely feel thirsty and don't drink enough really, I'm not sure what that means hopefully positive.7 -
Glad it went well pixie . Apparently, thirst and hunger can be confused and some people eat when what they really need is a drink. That aside, it's good for the skin and general health to drink plenty of water.
I love my vegetables too and Incidentally they are lower in calories. It's just having to keep counting that puts me off.
I use how my clothes fit as a guide, just as you've noticed. There's nothing like clean jeans to tell you how you're doing. 😉6 -
I am glad that you had such a lovely experience at the Spa Pixie.
As Maman says healthy eating is the key to losing weight rather than any particular type of diet.
Maman getting that leather sofa for 49p was a real surprise. It was an auction, so I was expecting other people to bid against me and push up the price. I spent all of 2020 saving hard to ensure that I could make the changes to my home that I wanted to and to ensure that I can afford the party for my son's 21st birthday/Graduation. I have had to pay for removal men to collect and deliver each of the used furniture items that I have bought from eBay recently, but I have still changed my Living room in the way that I wanted to and bought household goods at really good prices on eBay. It does take a lot of looking and patience to find the really big bargains. Even though I could have afforded each of the solid oak pieces of furniture that I have bought new from Oak Furniture Land or similar retailer after comparing prices, I preferred to buy used and keep costs down for myself.
i did buy my large solid oak bookcase new from Oak Furniture Land as the cost of delivery of a similar used one from eBay meant there was little difference between the one I wanted new and the used one. I am looking forward to delivery of my bookcase in June.6 -
I don't know my weight, I just think if my clothes fit it is fine. It isn't drastic as my clothes still fit, just feel a bit tighter. I don't want to lose too much as I think my face actually looks better so it is a bit of a balancing act, face or bottom as they used to say take your pick but remember you can always sit on your bottom.7

Purplepixie , I think any massage, or osteopathy etc makes you thirsty as things are shaken up and I think toxins released so drinking water helps to flush stuff out. Not very technical but always told to drink plenty of water after massage etc. Sounds excellent7

TC77 that's interesting. I was very thirsty and as I said very unusual for me. I am pleased with the facial, my skin does feel much less dry, I might have to think about treating myself more often. I slept really well for 6.5 hrs which is really good for me so I am feeling bright and cheerful this morning.5

I used to get massages at a place I worked as they had a mobile masseur round at a discounted price. She always used to say to make sure that I drink plenty of water after she finished giving me the massage.
The green boots with mud on them I bought came up fine after I washed and dried them. I went to the charity shops today and yesterday again. I went in another shop yesterday that I hadn't been in since about 2003! I bought two pairs of sunglasses, a black trench coat, a brown corduroy short skirt yesterday and today I bought a green necklace, a black dress and four light grey tops to dye as I have two colour dye pods left. I'm just doing one load red now. I also dropped off a load of stuff to donate today. Oh yes, I bought a London themed cup as well as I thought I won't be here soon.
It was mild enough for a vest top today although I took a light cardigan too. I used up some serum as a moisturiser after my bath this morning.
I watched some of the Brit awards last night. I just wanted to see Taylor Swift really! I'm going to watch Rag N Bone man now. I read he was meant to be performing with the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS choir.

I'm glad your treatment has encouraged you to have more pixie. I've often fallen asleep during a massage or facial. I just wish I could have a masseuse come round at bedtime! 🤣
It's well worth the shipping charges to get the furniture you want sugarbaby. Aside from the bargain prices I think it's better to have some real wood and recycle than buy new whenever possible.
I thought of you when I was reading the fashion pages this morning Wednesday. One feature was on the trend to wear ankle boots with dresses. For the time of year, the boots should be colours so you're very on trend with your green ones. 😁 I'm glad they scrubbed up well.
The other article was about how to disguise the extra pounds gained during lockdown. Most tips were ones we'd have thought of before like bright lipstick or showing a bit of flesh (like ankles or neckline) that you are happy with. What I thought could go horribly wrong was belting something to give the illusion of a waist. I saw a photo of Princess Beatrice, dressed up for an outdoor lunch, earlier in the week and thought she'd made herself look bigger than she really is.

Maybe she had too many layers underneath! 🤣
You're really going to town on the house fabbing pixie. To finish off the outside decoration, we're having a new outside light and door number. The light has arrived but we're waiting on the number plate. We've ordered a French style one and it has to be specially made and shipped.

It's a lovely, sunny day here too. I'm not doing anything special but it certainly has a feel good factor. 😊😎5
