Hello Ladies,
Thank you for all of your lovely comments about my bargain buy cream leather sofa. It looks squishy, but it quite firm when you sit or lie on it. It was an auction sale, so, I was astonished when I won it at the starting bid. It has no cracks or tears in the leather and once I had washed every inch of it down in Flash lemon gel and water, it came up a treat. Even though it is a 2 seater (had to make sure it would fit through my front door) I can lie down on it.
I too love the 2 footstools, they are such an elegant design. They were from another eBay bargain buy and they look great with this sofa.
I am looking for a nest of solid oak tables on eBay at the moment and I am also looking for a chest of drawers for my brother H. I have found that at the moment, there are far more furniture bargains to be had than usual. I think that lot of people have been buying new furniture in this pandemic and just want rid of their old furniture. This is great for those of us who want to revamp our own homes on a budget. Plus it means that all of this furniture is not ending up in landfills.
I took my favourite black patent leather Van Dal sandals to the shoe menders yesterday, as they were the only pair of shoes or sandals that needed attention. Now of course there is just so much rain in South London today. I hope we get a really hot summer this year.
Toni's Friend, I find losing weight takes a lot more effort now that I am 59 years old, but I will keep going no matter how slow my personal progress is, as I really want to lose weight.
Maman that brooch is great. I always vote even when I feel none of the parties do not have much to offer, as my right to vote was so hard won generations ago and should never be taken for granted. I have always encouraged my adult children to vote as well. We never discuss our political view points but I doubt all 4 of my adult children share my political views, but I always raised them to have their own opinions about the World around them and their local communities.5 -
good morning all. Well done Sugarbaby on your bargain! wet and miserable here. I am going to an event 5/6 , a Mama Mia murder mystery with SIL and friends 5/6 and decided to wear a dress that I haven't worn yet and some heeled sandals. I have very pale legs. In the past I have bought gradual build up lotions which have worked great , except for my legs! I have been recommended Bondi products, I decided rather than go for a fake tan I would try the gradual build up milk, so I have ordered a bottle off Amazon. I need some colour on my legs. I will start using it soon, if it doesn't work I can then try the immediate fake tan. I used my nail machine last week, I had a lovely shade of blue but one's come off, going to re-do them tomorrow in either coral or deep red.

I've never thought of looking for furniture on ebay. Last year we got a bargain chest of drawers from a local charity shop, they were a good buy but I don't think i can compete with Sugarbaby's 49p.
This week I am having my Christmas 2019 present, just a bit late. It is a facial or something at a local spa, quite a luxury place. I've spoken to the manager on the phone, I wasn't sure what to book but we have agreed that she will look at my skin and make a recommendation. I'm quite looking forward to it. The main thing I need dealing with is my hairy legs but I'm too much of a coward to get them waxed so that will be a razor job.
I've booked a little trip for August. Just a long weekend, we can't really manage more as DH struggles but it is still nice to have a break. I'm thinking of maybe having a weekend away with DD, my eldest GS would stay with husband so I could get a break.
So lots of little positives going on.6 -
purple I hope you enjoy your facial and you come out looking and feeling like a superstar.

Thanks Chanie, that is very kind. I am looking a bit like a scarecrow at the moment. I couldn't sleep so was up at 6 am, put on my messy jobs outfit, very elegant, and I've scrubbed the downstairs loo (the room not the actual loo) from top to bottom, painted all the woodwork and plan on doing a bit of repairs to wallpaper that is loose at the edges later and then on Wednesday I will emulsion it. It is going to be so brilliant white you will need sunglasses to use it.
So scruff today, spa day tomorrow and then scruff again on Wednesday. Maybe I should try to do the emulsion today, means I need to get out and get the adhesive to repair the wallpaper. I'm going to have some breakfast and a sit down and then decide.
It is grey and miserable here this morning so a bit of fabbing the house is good. Jobs are getting crossed off the list, outside all painted, bathroom ready for renovation, downstairs loo well on the way. Things to do, finish loo, get bathroom done and then find out if this man is coming to do the patio or else find someone else. After a year of feeling very unmotivated I'm much more full of life and looking forward to a meal out next week and then 3 weekends running I've got grown up children visiting. My one son I haven't seen since last August and in the meantime he has worked so hard on a covid ward and had covid himself so it will be nice to spoil him for a bit.
Hope everyone is well and full of beans.7 -
I looked on ebay a little bit yesterday but couldn't see any bargains, hmm. There probably is a trick to it. My front door is very narrow so we only have armchairs at the moment.
I hope you enjoy your facial Pixie and you liked your mystery day out Sheila.
I want to go to the charity shop later this week. I have a couple of books to read this week that I will donate afterwards and I'm going to look through our wardrobes again and get rid of some clothes. I want a new top to wear with one of the new chazzer skirts I bought. It's next Friday night that I'm going out but I am so looking forward to it!
My husband did my bikini line last night. I would like to get a professional wax but I feel shy, haha.

I looked through my wardrobe and found two vest tops and two jackets to donate. I also realised that I have two tops I was thinking of wearing next week when I go out. I have quite a smart black top that I haven't worn yet, a silver grey Oasis top (that I'm not sure I like) and my two new short skirts from the charity shop last week. A grey chiffon skirt or a New Look plaid skirt. My husband said the black top with the plaid skirt.
I went out for a walk and decided to go into a few charity shops. I hadn't planned to go so I only had £5 on me when I looked in my purse. I was looking for some grey boots again. I couldn't find any in three shops so I settled for a pair of very dark green New Look ankle boots. They have mud on them but it looks like they could be cleaned. I also got two black and white cushions for the armchairs when we are selling the house. £5 exactly for all three things.2025 GOALS

Sounds like you have some nice things Wednesday. I am looking terrible, the paint in my hair is a nice touch but on the bright side I have a very bright clean downstairs loo. I need to tidy it all up and when the curtains are dry I need to get them back up but the worst is over. When the new vinyl goes down it will look very good I think.
I think tonight will be a long soak in the bath. I'm hoping I will sleep well tonight. I haven't been sleeping well and it is getting worse, I was awake until after 1 am and was awake at 5 and up and doing at 6 am so I should definitely be tired enough to sleep tonight.
I'm hoping I might find some nice ankle boots, mine are looking a bit shabby. I live in them all winter so they get alot of wear and I find if I buy them at this time of year I can usually get a good buy. I've got low ankle bones and shoes tend to rub so it is ankle boots in winter and sandals in summer.

I'm off for my facial in a few minutes. I've decided to wear my new jeggings with the top I bought with them, it is a very pale cream with a bright patter, quite loose with three quarter sleeves. I think I look quite smart but casual and I'm looking forward to my bit of pampering.
I think I might need to go on a diet for the first time in my life. Bit daunting. I just feel my clothes feel a bit tight so I think I should do something now rather than let it get worse. Maybe as life opens up I will go back to normal. I do think sitting down watching TV and snacking through lockdown is probably the culprit. Maybe it is the time of year or things opening up but I am feeling more energetic. So any tips welcome, I don't know anything about calories, is that where I should start by learning about calories and making sure I don't eat too many? I'm pretty sure some of you have talked about weightloss in the past so any ideas of how to lose maybe 6 or 7 lbs? Preferably fairly painlessly!5 -
@purplepixie enjoy your pampering. I'm against calorie counting and think its back ton3 meals a day and healthy snacks and being aware if eating fro.boredom / stress rather than hunger and portion control. I'm trying to make sure I sit down to eat. Have more than you to lose but focusing on get waist down as unhealthy fat but can tell by clothes rather than scales. Others may have other ideas but all calories aren't equal, its healthy eating. Need to follow my own advice !6
