Reading about your purchases pixie I decided to wear my jeggings today. Mine are black and I bought them originally because they fit so well inside boots. It felt like I'd made a bit of an effort to dress up!
I tried the M&S tops on today and probably will keep them. They only cost £5.50 each and would make good 'one mile clothes' in hot weather. I'm still going to check out the top in John Lewis but that's far more expensive so I'd not wear that for housework! 😉
The tree people did another few hours today so that's coming on. Although none of the trees in the garden have preservation orders, we still have to make applications to get work done and it takes 6 weeks for a council decision! So it's a job that won't be finished for a while.
Hope everyone has had a good day. I like Fridays. I always do my food shop so it feels more normal than any other day of the week. Then we have a nice meal and wine! 😁6 -
1st May already. Where is the time going?
So, today we had a walk - just over three miles. I am (hopefully) within my calorie allowance. I find it a bit difficult to calculate when cooking from scratch but I don't think I can be that far off. I've got a kind of a meal plan for next week. Healthy, I hope. Actually it is healthy. Lots of salads, fish and vegetables.
My underwear that I ordered what seems ages ago arrived yesterday. It's really comfortable and still quite pretty and lacy (I love lace and floaty fabrics) but it has made me look at my body. Definitely fat and lumpy. I'm definitely not a gym type person but I do need to seriously get into some moving around.
So everything is going OK. The proof will be when I weigh myself at the end of the month.
I really will need to get new glasses. I have quite a round face. Any suggestions on what kind of frames will flatter. I don't like wearing glasses but can't tolerate contacts and if I'm honest I don't really have a clue as to what is best for my shape.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Got my hair done today. I was due 19/1 so long overdue for my 2 colours. Everyone said mine looked ok, even the hairdresser! but I had used clairol dark blond root touch up on top to cover silvery bits! only had a bit took off, its a nice shoulder lengthToni's friend, I take my Daughter with me, try loads on and she helps me choose.I'm looking after my Daughters dogs for 2 nights (last night and 2n) she's gone glamping! got a 40 min walk in with them earlier, so got my steps in6

Toni'sfriend glad the underwear was a success. I need glasses as well, I should have had a test about six months ago so I need to do something. I have varifocals, I normally get the dearest ones but I'm wondering what the cheaper lenses are like, don't know if I should give them a go or just bite the bullet and buy the expensive ones.
I've been working trying to clear up some paint splashes on the drive, the drive looks cleaner than it has in a few years. The house looks nice which is the main thing. I'm ordering some stuff for the bathroom this weekend as some places have got bank holiday deals on, it will be awkward having to find somewhere to put it all but saving a bit makes it worth it I think, more money left for the next step in sorting the house out.
My feet are looking tatty with skin peeling off but that's what the footpeel is supposed to do so I hope it will be worth it.
Hope everyone has a good bank holiday weekend.5 -
I seem to have got by so far without colour too sheila. Fortunately no grey but I've been using John Frieda products, including the highlighter spray, which has kept my hair looking quite fair.
Reading your posts reminds me that some of my bras are looking a bit worn TF. I generally buy mine in TKMaxx but styles/brands can vary so much that they really have to be tried on. It seems shops vary about trying things on at the moment. 🤔
These are my current glasses from Boots opticians.

I like to buy them there as they do my 100% favourite Ray Ban sunglasses and also some sort of offer. When I first tried tortoiseshell glasses (instead of metal famed) I had a cheap pair from Specsavers to just make sure I liked the look before splashing out. I have my eye test at an optician that's part of a small chain locally. The actual optician is very good and makes me feel confident in his judgement. I don't buy glasses there though as I think they're ridiculously expensive.
I tried on some of my summer clothes earlier. It's not that I'm thinking of wearing them yet but I wanted to give any I don't want to the CS and I hadn't really worn many of them since Summer 2019 . I got rid of a dress and a skirt. There are other things like beach dresses that I'd like to replace but I've no idea what's about this year or if I'm likely to get anywhere near a beach to wear them! . I think I need to get into the shops and browse a bit. 🤔5 -
I like your glasses. I'm just not sure what suits my little round fat face.
Right now it would mean going into the city to get a "chain" optician so I'm going to bit the bullet and try the local independent one. So long as they fit properly and the lenses are right I'll be happy to pay.
Still trying hard to watch the calories. A bit more difficult on a Sunday when I'm being temped by roast chicken, roast potatoes, etc but I'll do my best.

Probably your best idea is to try on different frames and be adventurous. It's tempting to just go for what you've had before. There are websites that suggest frames for different face shapes.
A roast dinner can be very healthy. Fill your plate with lean meat and veg and go easy on the potatoes. 😉 We don't eat until about 7pm and you're making me hungry! 🤣5 -
@Toni'sfriend I think Specsavers do a try-on thing on their website where you upload a photo, so you can see how different styles look on your face.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I avoid round glasses as they make me look like a pumpkin! Generally I go for more angular shapes, thicker frames. My fat face does better with some structure.
I've always found the staff in opticians to be very helpful with suggestions.7 -
Hi fabbers,
I hope you all are enjoying the bank holiday weekend. We went to another Theme Park, which was great fun, although we had sun and rain throughout the day.Other than that, I don’t have anything else to update.6
