Hi Toni'sfriend. I think lots of things have changed in lockdown, we'll all get back on track I'm sure. Glad the hair appointment went well, I've got a cut and colour next Monday.6

I haven't done anything at all since we got the new freedoms as I've been really tired from my husband doing nights. It wasn't very good timing!
I am looking forward to my hair cut next week as it needs a good two inches hacked off. I was thinking how lucky I am not to have any grey as that would have bugged me during this lockdown. I just sent her a text to make sure it is still booked. My husband's hair looks a right mess.
I have been using the aromatherapy steam each night and my sinuses have been feeling a little better in the mornings. I have been using my serum at night as my skin is looking very dry on my face. I am having a pyjama day today and I was waiting for a delivery which has just arrived. I think I am going to wash my face, put on a moisturiser and get into bed to read my paperwhite kindle.
I did just try and book an Indian Head Massage but the guy has retired since I saw him last! It has been quite a while since I had one. I will have to find somewhere else.

Sugarbaby - I'm just a shade over 12st (the heaviest I've ever been) but I'm only 5"1" so I look rotund to put it nicely. I realise the excess weight isn't going to vanish overnight so, you're right, I have to start making the best of what I have and start pampering myself. Hopefully, that will increase my confidence (which is at zero at the moment) and lift my mood.
So, little things today:
It was cold and misty so I put on comfy shoes, sprayed on some perfume and went for a walk in the park. It's not very far but it was at least some exercise. I was happy to hear yesterday that our travel restrictions are easing in Scotland from Friday so I will have more choice on where to walk. Not a lot of parks around here.
I have a really nice casual jacket (Joules, I think, is the make). I've washed it to start wearing for walking. It looks quite smart and it fits.
Looked out all the lotions and potions I need to improve my skin and started using them this morning. They are all on top of my bedside cabinet so no excuse for not using them morning and night.
Filed my nails and rubbed on hand cream. They are short but look much better. I don't think I can grow them very long anyway because they split and break. I think I have some pale polish somewhere I can use.
Had a salad for lunch and having home made celery soup for dinner. That's pretty healthy. And I've started taking a multivitamin a day again.
It's not a lot, I know, but at least it's a start.
Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.8 -
Toni's Friend you have made a great start. Every step that you take on your journey to being your most fabulous self will help you to achieve your goals. Just take one day at a time. If you stumble, feel too tired to be bothered one day, then just get back on track the next day.8

We've been out for lunch today. The meal was acceptable but not brilliant as I they'd gone for a limited menu probably as they couldn't guarantee how many covers they'd get and didn't want wastage. Chatting with the owner afterwards and he said some of his former suppliers had gone out of business so he was having to source new ones.
In the end I did play safe with my outfit and wore black skinny jeans (with leggings underneath! 🤣) but I did wear a nice burgundy mohair jumper (over thermal vest 😉) and my black suede boots. I took some care with my make up and my hair is still looking good. The best part was how much we enjoyed chatting with our friends. We've made another date for next month and (data permitting) we should be able to sit indoors next time.
Ironically the fashion feature in my paper today was all about how to dress up for alfresco dining. I could have written it myself! layers were very much in evidence especially under midi/maxi dresses. They reminded me very much of the ones I like in Nobody's Child Wednesday. This dress:
LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Black and White Ditsy Willow Wrap Midi Dress (nobodyschild.com)
I probably wear as often with leggings, boots and a camisole or black vest underneath as I do on it's own on a hot summer's day.
I got a reminder email for my eyebrow wax and tint and it's supposed to be tomorrow afternoon. The appointment card says Friday but I'll go tomorrow and hope for the best. It'll be good to wander around in the city centre anyway. It's only 3 miles away so if I have to go twice I won't mind.
Progress is being made on the house. Today they've put scaffolding up at the back ready for outside painting. It'll look good when t's done as at the moment it looks odd with a pair of semis in two different colours.6 -
I'm off to work today! Nice to get a bit of work coming back in and it means £200 in the bank tomorrow. It is also a nice place so I will get to catch up with people so a bit of a social occasion as well, I'm sure there will be tea and cake at some point. It is nice to feel there is a purpose to the day.
Well I'll be off now, I was just waiting for the traffic to clear a bit.7 -
I love celery soup. With nice crusty bread. Now I fancy that.
Maman - it sounds like you had a lovely day. I do like that dress. It's funny but I wouldn't think of that dress as midi. I never click on midi dresses online as I picture them being an odd length on me so maybe I should look at them in the future.

Hope you have a good day pixie. It's surprising how much we've missed doing fairly normal things. 😊
I agree about the dress description Wednesday. I'm 5 ft 9 and it's long on me so definitely more a maxi dress. It has a dipped hem at the back so it would trail on the floor for a shorter person. That's one of the great things about actually being able to see items and try them on in the shops. Online works OK for buying some things but not really for clothes unless there's a free returns facility.
I heard a piece about Charity Shops on the radio this morning. Apparently they've reported record breaking sales this week already. Another plus is that they don't have to quarantine donations this time so that should help. I'm still going to check before I take things along though.
There are a couple of CSs in the city centre so I will take a look, if they don't have huge queues, this afternoon.6 -
