Thanks for the concern floss. The conservation area where we live is unusual in that neighbours are jointly liable for the boundaries. So any fencing repairs/replacement are jointly funded on both sides of the property. Previously we had fencing half way down the garden and hedging beyond that. The fencing has been (jointly) replaced but the hedging has become overgrown and frankly past its best as my neighbours got older and then died. It's now been removed and the logical solution was to extend the fencing but the developer has just left a gap and (politely) refused our suggestion to pay half for extra fencing. We're going to fund it ourselves rather than risk someone coming in and planting Leylandii or a cheap fence. For us, we'd rather do this than wait and hope that a new owner agrees. If we're lucky and the gaps put potential buyers off then maybe the developers will change their minds. 🤔

I have woken up to the sad news of the death of Prince Phillip. I cannot begin to imagine how devastated our Queen is.

Yes, sugarbaby. It doesn't matter how much of a public figure you are, losing your husband after all those years must be devastating. And I suppose, like everyone else at this time, she won't have her family around to comfort her. I was thinking earlier that it was good she was able to meet up with Prince Charles last weekend outdoors (saw a photo in the newspaper of them walking in Windsor Great Park ). Maybe they knew then it was coming. 🤔

I woke up today and thought I have two weeks until I'm going out in London so I really have to lose this weight I gained. I had a black coffee and then did 5,000 steps and then had toast and a protein smoothie when I got home. I have got the last of the lentil soup I made for lunch and I am going to make a veggie casserole later.

I wore a black jumper out today that I forgot I bought. I must have bought it the last time lockdown ended.

I am going to go out to the chazzers next week. I want to get some blue boots and grey boots, a new handbag in a Spring colour and hopefully some dresses and tops.

I want some new sunglasses too, but I will probably have to buy them new.

Our neighbours are unhappy with our fencing situation.  We are the middle house in a row of three detached houses, the house to our left is responsible for the fence that divides our gardens, the house to our right is responsible for the fence that divides our gardens.  So they each have three fences to maintain, we just have the one at the bottom of the garden.  If they were nice we might offer to split the cost, as they aren't we don't.

Not long now until the shops reopen....

I’m in desperate need of a wax.  I could have done it myself but as I knew the shops were reopening, I’ve been holding out.  It does mean that I’ve had to keep my legs covered during the nice weather, so I’m looking forward to being able to bare my legs.

I’ve booked a day off work this week so that I can have a wander around the shops and have a nice lunch.   I cant wait.  Other than Christmas, I haven’t had any time off work since I started my job in the autumn, so it will be nice to have some time to myself.

I'm sure you'll really enjoy your day off chanie. It's surprising how we've come to value simple things that we previously took for granted.

I want my eyebrows waxed and tinted. I had an appointment booked during lockdown so need to call them (Benefit at John Lewis) tomorrow and see what/when they can offer. I suppose we're lucky that our John Lewis is still there, many aren't. Not sure if our local Debenhams is going to have a closing down sale. Some are but I don't think it will involve concessions just own brand.

I tried on the animal print skirts this morning. Not sure which size to keep. I like the loose feel of the 14 but the waist is enormous. I'll try again with different tops.

Bright and dry here but not very warm. 😊

maman have you decided which skirt you are going to get?  If I’m choosing sizes, I think a slimmer fit works better as the larger size often had too much material

I’m just doing a coconut deep conditioning hair treatment.  I’ve been meaning to do it for ages but finally got around to it.

purple I’m now having trades person issue.  We had some plumbing work done and now have a leaky pipe.  I’ve been texting the person who did that work for us and twice now he has failed to turn up at the time he said he would.  Luckily, we have plumbing cover, so I’ve had to arrange for someone else to sort it out.
