I went into TKMaxx and bought my new socks! They were reduced too so only £5 for 2 packs of 3. I don't think Rishi will be pleased with my spending today. I'm hardly going to refloat the economy. 🤣
Funnily enough Priti Patel went to my uni. Not at the same time, believe me we were not friends!5 -
Thank you Ladies, for your compliments and for my lovely birthday messages. I had a surprise birthday visit from my older daughter and my son in law and I ended up having such a wonderful day with my family5

I have lost 2 pounds this week already. That has given my mood a lift.
I thought there was something off with my thyroid but the scales have finally moved in the right direction.
I had a healthy breakfast of fresh fruit and soya yoghurt today. I am making a vegan burger with a load of roasted veg and a salad for lunch when I get home.
I ordered some bits from Tu this morning. The navy dress with the rainbow stripe I posted on here, a black maxi dress, an animal print maxi dress and a yellow bag. I wouldn't normally buy that colour but I thought with a bag it gives a pop of colour without having to wear that colour as I don't think yellow suits me in clothing. I'm hoping to wear the blue dress and the bag next Friday when I go out.
Chanie - is the public transport in central London completely back to normal now? They are not limiting the number of people on buses or anything? I have to get the tube and the bus next week when I go out.

Wednesday I don’t often get busses, so I couldn’t say, but looking at how busy buses are where I live, I’d say no.

Wednesday the buses in London all have restrictions. Everyone is supposed to sit on their own on a 2 seater seat, which I love, as I feel much more comfortable when other people are not too near. It is not 2 metres apart on a bus, as that is not workable. On most buses, the 2 seats nearest to the driver are out of use. You are not supposed to stand on the lower deck any more, but drivers use their discretion at busy times. They have designated school buses to take the strain off the usual buses, as you now have less than half of the passengers you used to have on a bus before this pandemic. Everyone has to wear a mask and thank goodness drivers do their best to enforce this policy, although they will back down if a commuter is too aggressive.4

I'm going to North Greenwich station to get a bus to Greenwich market and I was just wondering how busy it will be and if there will be a big queue for the bus. I did get a bus the other week to the vet and back but I just didn't even notice. I saw there was a sign saying only 14 or 15 people at a time because it was a single decker bus, but I didn't count the people to see if that was right. I did notice the seat behind the driver was closed off. Hmm, I might go early so I'm not travelling in rush hour.

Can I just say thank you again. I really appreciate it.
Exercise - We walked the long way round to the fruit and veg shop. Just a shade over 2 miles. Hoping to increase that next week.
Skin - Keeping up the regime. You are all absolutely right. It doesn’t take long and getting into a routine is the key.
Hair - I think I will invest in hot brush. The straighteners are making it too flat. In saying that two neighbours said separately how nice my hair was and asked for the name of my hairdresser. So something must be right.
Wardrobe - I’ve been rummaging in the cupboards and found a rather nice Joe Brown knitted jacket which would look quite smart with a pair of jeans or black leggings (if I can find some that fit) and a white top. So it’s been washed.
Diet - Tuna salad from lunch and chilli burgers from the local butcher for dinner. Not the healthiest but no snacking so I reckon I can get away with it.
Early days but I’m feeling more in control.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Great progress TF. Those are quite long walks you're managing and your meals are good. The burgers from butchers are often 100% meat so better for you than many. I like the sound of the jacket. It's been a perfect day for washing. I got all the bedding out on the line and just brought it in. It smells so fresh compared with drying indoors. 😊
I think there must be standard Covid compliance rules for buses across the country sugarbaby. I used a bus yesterday to get into the city centre and it was just like you said. The front seats were taped off and there were stickers encouraging you to sit by the window for a better view! 😊 I'm sure you'll be fine Wednesday.
I've got no plans for the weekend but I suspect bars and restaurants will get busier with people off work and the weather set to get a bit warmer. DD1 came round today and we sat in some garden chairs. She brought her own coffee as a take away coffee is her treat. Unlike her mother, she doesn't touch any alcoholic drinks. 😉5 -
@Wednesday2000 not sure if its today you're going to Greenwich. I drove through and quite alot of people around, compared to lewisham but buses outside peak times are OK and trains and dlr I think. Have to go to Stratford for jab and dlr busyish but have empty seat next to me.
Enjoy reading the posts and must get out of my elasticated trousers. Have covered up blemishes on face ( having flare-up), earrings and lipstick for.jab and then outside drink with friends. First since last feb . Need to reduce waistline ( tipped into red zone) and then can go through clothes and declutter and keep those that make me feel.good.5 -
I had a day off work and went to Westfield for a bit of in person shopping. It wasn’t as busy as I expected, but there were queues when paying, because most shops have less staff on tills due to social distancing.
I was really looking forward to shopping, but it was a bit meh. I guess after spending so much time in lockdown, you realise you can do without so much stuff. But I didn’t come away totally empty handed 🤣.5
