I am looking for a used 3 seater leather sofa now on eBay. Once I get the sofa, I will look for the new rug for my Living room.6 -
Those are lovely, Sugarbaby. We rent from our local authority. It's a nice area and we have the best neighbours ever. Every single one of them would do anything to help the others out. The plus side of renting is that we don't have to pay for any maintenance or repairs. Some of those who own their properties have made quite stunning internal alterations but I'm loathe to spend many thousands of pounds on something that isn't mine. We're not going on any holidays at all this year so I'm going to concentrate on getting a bit of decoration and general fabbing done instead.
On a personal level I'm still plodding along getting into a routine. My skin is definitely looking clearer and I've had a go at tidying up my eyebrows. Not as good as having them done professionally but better. I must confess that I have been struggling just a bit with snacking over the last few days but renewed determination today.
We won't get for a walk today as we're waiting for some deliveries so I think a bit of serious housework might be in order to keep me moving and burn up some calories.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.7 -
I just went to two charity shops for the first time in ages!
They had a lot of winter stuff which surprised me. I thought I may as well get some jumpers as the cold spell we had in the winter made me think that I don't have enough warm clothes.
I got a dark grey F&F jumper, a red New Look jumper and a Clockhouse at C&A black cardigan with fringe around the neck. In the other one I bought a silver cushion for my bedroom and a black and white long sleeved Primark top. It was all less than £10.I got in nearly 7,000 steps walking there and back too.
We have booked a pub with outdoor seating for Friday. I'm so excited about going out somewhere and to get my hair cut first!6 -
Just catching up as we had some Wi-Fi problems over the weekend so couldn't get online much. 😊
That's really solid looking furniture sugarbaby and a style plain enough to suit any decor. I particularly like the light oak. 😊
I think TF was right when she said that fabbing goes beyond just personal grooming. How we treat our surroundings can reflect how we feel about ourselves. It's the same as clearing out 'stuff'. I find it really cathartic as well as the obvious making space. I suppose it all comes down to being in control.🤔
I'd like to make some changes to my sitting room. I'm happy with the basics but I'd like to have different side/lamp tables to give the room a lighter look. I was looking at some in TKMaxx last week. The style was right but not plain enough for me. My current tables are a bit dark and heavy.
I've not ventured into charity shops yet Wednesday but I will now you've mentioned them. It's interesting but there weren't any winter coats available when I was in John Lewis last week (I looked, hoping for a bargain). I wonder whether they've put them away for next year whereas the CS just wants to clear stock and make space. It's a gloriously sunny day today but you never know when you'll need a jumper or a cardigan.
It's good to have something to look forward to. I think the fine weather is staying all week. 😁

I think the charities are probably desperate for some money Maman, their fund raising must have taken quite a hit over the last year. They might have alot of stock as well, people doing a clear out in lockdown?
I think it is amazing how quite simple things can give a room a lift, new cushions, rugs, lamps or a coat of paint can really brighten things up.
I'm getting my guttering cleaned today, you can't get more fab than that can you. Getting my hair done later so hopefully that will be fab as well.8 -
You're right Maman. It's warm but I still have my heating on so I might need the jumpers before autumn. I really like the red jumper I bought. It's cropped and a really nice shade of red.
That will be nice to get your hair done Pixie.
I'm going to go back to one of the charity shops later this week as it has a half price sale on. I didn't feel like looking properly today as I was holding the bags and they were quite bulky with the cushion in there. I can't go tomorrow as I've ordered some new bed covers and some sun cream and my husband is doing overtime so I have to wait in for the delivery. Oh actually I can't do Wednesday either as my husband has a medical appointment so it will have to be a trip back on Thursday.
I don't need anything for Friday to wear but it would be nice to get some summery stuff. I have lots of vest type tops but not many short sleeved ones. I did want some navy blue boots to wear with my dress but black will be fine. I think the dress, tights and boots will be okay to wear as the weather is supposed to be similar to today. It might get chilly sitting outside for a few hours with a dress with sandals, especially if it's in the shade.
My husband has an optician appointment this afternoon so I am going to get him to drop off the donation bag to the charity shop there.
I wore my new animal print maxi dress out yesterday and today and I caught the sun on the top of my chest so I remembered to put on sun cream today. It's nice to be in sandals again.
I just went out again and bought salad stuff, fresh ginger and a bottle of wine. I wanted the ginger to make a curry one day this week. I just got in more steps so up to 10,000 steps before midday now.
It's amazing how much easier it is to get in steps when you are actually walking towards a location. When I was just walking for exercise I found it much more boring!

I'm very happy with my hair and hairdresser made my day. About 18 months ago I was getting worried about my hair thinning, tried some products which I thought helped then switched to something else which I've been happy with. Today hairdresser said how much thicker my hair was, she said a year ago my hair was alot thinner particularly on the crown. I am so happy, I was really worried but I knew it had improved but somehow getting that confirmed by a professional is so encouraging.
Guttering all cleaned out so another job done but I didn't manage to make my appointment at the beauty salon so that is a job for tomorrow.
You sound like you are doing lots Wednesday, hope Friday is fun. You are right there is still a bit of a chill although it is sunny and bright so you are wise to prepare for that.
I have my 2nd covid jab on Friday so I am looking forward to getting that done.6 -
Hello Ladies,
Toni's Friend, I rent from a Housing Association, so I have never bothered to decorate the maisonette I live in. I have good neighbours and before this pandemic there was a real sense of community on my Estate.
I am buying birthday cards and presents for various female relatives. I just need to get them all gift wrapped, so that I can easily see who I have already bought presents for. I wrote out all of their birthday cards this evening.
I had a long relaxing bath this morning with Epsom salts and it really helped soothe my joints.
It was glorious weather here in South London today, so no need for central heating. I had a day of minimal housework and just relaxed reading and watching television.5 -
Yes, Sugarbaby, we have a great sense of community. I was on holiday in the UK when the first lockdown was announced and had to come home unexpectedly and in a hurry. Neighbours put shopping in the house for me and even a bunch of flowers.
My new cushions arrived today. Oh, they are lovely! A theme of burgundy and gold. Very opulent looking. They will really make a difference. And I've found jeggings which actually fit. One denim and one black. They look quite smart and are comfy. Goodbye to the baggy granny trousers I've been wearing.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Glad the cushions are a success and the jeggings. My parcels of bras, pants and socks arrived. The bras are a great fit, I got 4, all the same style but in black, flesh, white and a very pale pink. I've got to have a sort out now and throw out the old stuff, particularly the badly fitting bras.7
