I like vinyl for the bathroom floor, sheet or tiles. Completely redoing a bathroom isn't cheap is it. We need a new floor first, one of my kids flooded it years ago and it is squeaky and you can feel it give in places when you stand on it. I am swapping the toilet and basin which adds to the cost compared to just leaving them where they are but I think it will work better. I am happy with the bath, vanity unit and basin, towel rail and toilet. Still not sure about tiles, I would love to be brave and do something eyecatching and then I think I have to live with it for a long time and maybe I will grow to hate it so maybe neutral is best. I have to pick taps but I'm not too worried about that. I think I might be overthinking it, anything is going to be better than what we have but I have been thinking about it for over a year, we were about to get quotes last year when we went into lockdown, and now I've got 2 more months to fixate on it.
Happy Easter everyone.7 -
Positive thought for today:
No matter how hard the past, you can always begin again (Buddha)4 -
Happy Easter to you all. 🐰
Thanks for the compliments on the bathroom. It was expensive but we love it so was worth the cost. We moved the toilet and washbasin too pixie. As the pipework was so old we had all that replaced too including water supply from the road so it all added up. We have sheet vinyl but with a tiled pattern.
I had a good pamper session this morning. At last I've finished the Veet hair remover. I won't be buying it again, horrible smelly stuff.
We're having a 'Christmas' dinner today. Turkey (crown) is cooked and resting. We have pigs in blankets too but I'll pass on sprouts. DH can eat my share. 😉8 -
You can't see much of the bathroom, but the basin is on a washstand, opposite the bath. To the left of the door is the walk-in shower and the loo is under the window (to the right of the basin).
I love the heated towel rail behind the cat & the simple lever taps - Grohe ones, as is the shower which runs off the boiler (hidden in a cupboard next to the loo). It cost a lot, but previously it was a hideous pink suite with pink & green wallpaper & a green carpet 😳 so the investment was needed!

Positive thought for today:
I will focus on what I do have in life, rather than what I do not have. I have wonderful people and good things in my life - I will remember to show my gratitude and never take them for granted (Katie Piper)3 -
Hello Ladies.
I have had such a lovely Easter with my son at home. The 3 of us have played games together that resulted in a lot of fun and laughter. My son and I have won £25 each in the April premium bonds draw3 -
So pleased to hear you've had a good Easter sugarbaby. What a pleasant coincidence that you both got a Premium Bond win in the same month. 😊
I've had a very lazy day today. I decided to finish the silly book I've been reading, for what seems like an age. It did warm up a bit towards the end but I wouldn't recommend it. I have a Marian Keyes to read next. She can be a bit intense but writing is of a decent standard.
I went to Sainsbury's briefly. It was quite busy there for a Monday afternoon but I suppose what there is to do on a cold Bank Holiday in the middle of lockdown is limited. I noticed that they have a number of new lines in the Tu clothing (In my store it's just inside the door so you can't miss it). I particularly liked some of the animal print items. Next time I go I think I'll buy this skirt.

I've used Flaxseed oil as a serum today for the first time in a coupe of weeks, fortunately with no ill effects. Since I had the reaction to the Olay moisturiser I've been very careful.
DH is, at last, showing some enthusiasm for a kitchen extension. At the moment we have a large conservatory across the back of the house. It's been very useful extra space but I want something more permanent. It won't be an easy or quick job as we'll need planning and consent from the conservation officer but at least we're taking a first step. We had hoped that a new owner would extend the house next door ( other half of semi) and that we could have worked with them but the developers wanted a quicker, cheaper job. Apparently it's now finished and goes on the market tomorrow. They have left the garden in a bit of a mess but I suppose it's all about profit. Our garden is being cleared currently but we won't redesign it until after the extension.
Sorry this is a bit 'me, me' today. It helps to think aloud. Not seen Wednesday for a few days. I hope you're OK? 🤔

For our bank holiday we have driven and hour and a half up the motorway, DD and DSIL drove an hour and a quarter down the motorway and we met at the services. Chatted for an hour, had a McDonald's lunch, it was too cold to sit outside for any longer so not a long visit but hadn't seen her for six months so it was wonderful to see her. I wore a new top I bought in an online sale during lockdown and DH wore a suit with waistcoat, it was nice to dress up but possibly a bit OTT for McDonalds.
Your extension sounds a good idea Maman. I think lots of us are looking at things to do with our homes, I suppose we have spent so much time in them for the last year. My plans are by the end of the year we will have:
1. New bathroom
2. If bathroom goes well new ensuite
3. Hall stairs and landing decorated
Small jobs I need to sort:
1. Clear gutters
2. Get drive pressure washed
3. Spend some time getting ride of weeds and moss in the lawn. It is so much better than last year but I haven't won the battle. I heard if you've had dandelions it is 7 years to clear them so this is year 2, 5 years to go. Having said that I would say we have 25% of what we had last year. I'll never totally win as our council believe in wilding grassy areas to the green area behind my house will always have lots of them and they do spread.
Thinking about getting the patio relaid as it is a bit wobbly.
Love your tiles Floss and the cat.
I've got an appointment to get my hair done on the 19th, I'm not desperate as mine has grown past the awkward stage, it is now a below the jaw bob and looks OK but the colour needs doing.
I've got a restaurant booking for May.
Hope everyone has had a nice Easter.
