How long have you had equifax?xlnc99 said:Also - tip for anyone using clearscore (i use that aswell) but log into to Equifax, create a membership but dont pay. Go to the credit report section and go to update for free. It will update your credit report on a daily basis for free. So instead of waiting for monthly updates with clear score you can get daily updates with EQuifax.
*Your first 30 days are free then it’s £7.95 per month.
You can cancel at any time.
Is there a way of signing up to equifax that avoids ticking the box?
Please tick the box to confirm that you agree to the Terms and Conditions (including a £7.95 per month charge after a 30 day free trial period if you do not end your membership)

It was never a crisis in the first place! Just a delayed data update that appears to be next to resolved before it even became a problem.xlnc99 said:Crisis Averted.....2 -

For those interested, Equifax have got back to me. There is no mention of the councils being delayed (which means the nonsense on their website is lies). They have stated there is a delay for Equifax in loading the ER data for next year and that all data will be loaded on the system by 1st Jan 2021.What lies? You already said that your council wasn't one of the ones on the list.
xlnc99 said:Those councils are the only ones that have bothered to tell equifax, you can guarantee it is the majority of the UK that is effected. For example out the 31 councils that told EQUIFAX my council was not on the list and yet its been reported on my credit file.
You made an assumption that has proved to not be true and blame others.0 -
Ive had equifax for many years but i dont pay any monthly fee. The trick is to sign up initially- i.e give your card details and then become a member within the free 30 days trail period. Then just before the period ends, cancel your membership. However, your login details will still work the only difference is you wont see the made up credit score by Equifax. Continue logging in daily and you can upgrade your membership your credit report for free on a daily basis just as you would normally if you were a member but you just wont get the credit score. This is better then clearscore because if gives you real time updates not monthly updates.phillw said:

Also another added bonus, as you will login details, you can make any dispute request direct to equifax in their member centre rather then go through clearscore. They tend to deal with complaints quicker if you are a member.

They have lied because on their website they state its due to councils delaying. However, ive been told by Equifax it was nothing to do with that it was due to Equifax being slow loading data on their system. Also, isnt it funny how Transunio and Experian dont have issues with ER - just Equifax. Councils are reporting to them without any issues.phillw said:xlnc99 said:UPDATE - 31/12/2020

Lets wait and see if EQuifax actually fix the problem before we go down that road. I am not convinced they will.eskbanker said:
Perhaps worth doing so by editing the thread title then?xlnc99 said:

I wonder how many people check their credit score on a daily basis? Perhaps this level of paranoia explains your apparent over reaction to this whole issue?xlnc99 said:
