No it does not matter if you have moved or not. The electoral roll is not being updated so you wont be on it for the year.Asghar said:
You mean everyone in the UK has moved recently and their records won't be updated? Well it does not have an effect on me whatsoever.xlnc99 said:it is dramatic! This is huge and its not a lie!0 -
Also OP it's not affecting all UK residents, just those registered to vote.0

All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
A decision made by some local councils rather than being UK-wide as suggested, as made clear at https://help.equifax.co.uk/EquifaxOnlineHelp/s/article/When-will-my-2021-Electoral-Roll-Registration-be-updatedxlnc99 said:So i just logged into my equifax credit report and noticed that there was a red flag next to my electoral roll section. Considering i lived here for 15 years i found this odd so i looked into this further and was about to make a complaint to EQUIFAX when i found out on their website due to the COVID situation the electoral roll wont be updated as per usual in Dec 2020 and will be sometime in 2021. A decision made by the local councils.Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, legislation has recently been passed to allow local authorities to delay publication of their registers in order to allow the annual canvas to be carried out safely.
Publication of electoral registers is at the discretion of the individual local authorities and they may be published any time between December 1st 2020 and February 1st 2021. Once we have received their annual electoral register information and uploaded the information, if you have a subscription service with Equifax you will receive an alert to let you know this has happened. Please note that we are unable to make changes to the electoral roll information until we receive the update from the local authority.
The following local authorities have let us know that they will be delaying publication of their electoral registers until early 2021.
Local Authority Barnsley Manchester Birmingham Monmouthshire Blackburn With Darwen Nottingham Brighton & Hove Portsmouth Cambridge Sheffield Cheshire West & Chester Slough City of London Solihull Coventry South Lakeland Crawley Southampton Dudley St Albans Exeter Telford & Wrekin Fenland Torbay Glasgow West Oxfordshire Greenwich Wolverhampton Hackney Wyre Forest Isle of Wight
You seem to be assuming or asserting that delaying the annual refresh means that the old data is effectively wiped or inaccessible but I don't see any support for that opinion? The councils feed updates to the credit agencies every month, so it's not an exclusively annual process....xlnc99 said:

31 Councils out of over 300 Local Authorities0

Those councils are the only ones that have bothered to tell equifax, you can guarantee it is the majority of the UK that is effected. For example out the 31 councils that told EQUIFAX my council was not on the list and yet its been reported on my credit file. Go figure! I would imagine 90-100% of councils in the UK have made the decision to postpone and thus effecting majority of the UK.
I am not sure what has happened to the old data but i know on my equifax i am no longer on the electoral roll for the first time in 15 years0 -
However you have been for the past 5 years, and you can evidence your currrent address. A solid foundation.xlnc99 said:

I don’t think I’ve ever come across anyone who makes such sweeping assumptions with such ease.xlnc99 said:Those councils are the only ones that have bothered to tell equifax, you can guarantee it is the majority of the UK that is effected. Going back to an earlier assumption that credit will be withdrawn for those not on the electoral register. My wife and I remortgaged recently and neither of us were on the electoral register. She’s not even a UK citizen. Your assumption is misleading to say the least.5
