Hello, may I join? I am budgeting £400 for a family of 5 and 3 guinea pigs. We get milk and egg deliveries and pay for some school meals which I budget for separately. I also am a childminder so I feed little ones lunch 3 times a week. My own children are 14, 8 and 5. The 14 year old eats like a horse and my youngest is lacto free which adds a little extra cost but we are really in the swing of dairy free meals now and she isn't so bothered about much milk.7

Hi!
Back again for another go. Need to be really strict on this as I have £1950 to spend on food, toiletries and cat food. I’m going to split it down by the length of the month so can you put me down for £200 for January please? I’m hoping to keep it well below as I’ve got cupboards and freezer full to bursting but the kids go through milk, eggs and snacks like there’s no tomorrow!Thank you elsiepac for keeping this challenge going! 😊Grocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . Can I also join please? Budget is £260. I read the info on the first page and have to say this is significantly lower than what I currently spend; however I work in a shop, and the I’ll just pick this or that up after my shift mentality causes me to overspend dramatically. This has to stop because I can’t afford it and feel like this could keep me accountable.Saving for Christmas 2023 #51🎄

Hi,
Excited to start fresh for 2021.
Our average 2020 £pd on food/toiletries/cleaning/alcohol was £19.50 - I'll be aiming to achieve £17.50 - an overall saving of £730.
Unfortunately my OH's business is being impacted by Covid, and if we go back into Tier 4 he may have to try and find different work (however easy that may be!!!!). On the flip side we are also looking at doing an extension as we have huge damp issues in our house and extending would actually fix them. Either way, 2021 is not looking like our best financially so any and all savings needed.
I've shopped today which is coming out of 2020 budget and will set a budget of £490 for January.
I need a good sort out of my stocks to see where I am on bulk items like lentils, rice, flour etc. I have meat and fish in the freezer and will continue to bring in veggie/vegan meals. I don't batch cook as such but do always try to have leftovers, whether for a full meal or a lunch. I'll also be going back to porridge for breakfast - since working at home egg on toast had become a favourite - which then meant I never cooked those nice, easy, cheap meals in the evening of omelettes etc.
