Hi, happy new year! It's been a while since I've done the grocery challenge but I'd like to join for January if you'll have me back please!
There are 5 of us (2adults 3 kids) in our house. We have a full freezer and lots in the fridge and cupboards and I need to start "shopping from home" to use up stocks. I would like to go for £150 as my target. We are saving up for some house renovation so every penny counts as I don't want to be back in debt!
Good luck to all for the coming month 😊👍mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊7 -
i'm going to try for $200 USD. we spent $19.38 today for salad and onions and a spice. Food prices are the highest they've been in 50 years here.
Spent another $16,99 for a set of silicone spoons because if i have to listen to my husband beat the bottom of his dish tomorrow (as he does every...single...day) I cannot be responsible for his safety.9 -
Hi all!
First spends of the month today. Spent a fair bit in M0rris0n’s but most was on presents and Dad’s birthday tea (budgeted separately) so officially spent £8.38/£200 on groceries. I am hoping not to buy anything but sandwich fillings for the rest of the week though - really need to kick my fizzy pop habit otherwise I’ll have spent up by Friday! 😬

DH picked bread up after work and spent £8.94. No idea what else he bough but I can see bread, tube crisps (for dd2, she only eats ready salted and we have loads of other flavours left from christmas) and 2x ready burger packaging 🤢 in the bin so it's all from the grocery budget.

joedenise said:@VickyV how about buying fizzy water (you can buy that in the SMs for less than 20p) and add it to some squash - would that help the fizzy habit? At least it would be a lot cheaper!Grocery challenge:December 2022 £151.96/£400 . Advent decluttering challenge 47/240.6

Expecting a Mr T delivery tonight, should be the main shop for the week, bread, milk, fruit, some storecupboard, and my weekly fizzy pop. I'm going to try and swap most of it for diet lemonade as it's cheaper.Grocery Challenge 2024

First spend and a rubbish one £40 not even on food, coal for the fire to save on the heating. Firelighters and logs and cat food and a sandwich box. I'm not going to log all my spends just my NSD at the end of the month and total but feel a bit curve balled as I have loads of food in so why don't I budget for this with grocery it comes out of the same money. Well done everyone see you near the end of the month. Just made the barley soup recipe on here gorgeous although I added lots of garlic and turkey all frozen now.DF by 2023 No 17 £1,644 /£6000 Total debt £18,000 at the start of DFW Journey. 201814TH JULY 2021 DEBT FREE now in control365 1p challenge No 497
