Bad shopping day - £78 spent today but We couldn't get a shopping slot until this evening.
I already purchased a lot of stuff for this week but we needed to do weekly shop as well...it came to £33.00 but Tesco wanted to chared £4.00 due to it being under £40 so my hubs said bump it to £40 and keep some stuff for next week or lunches etc...

Completely unplanned but first spend of the year. Called into Morrisons for on offer port/sherry for dad. None on offer but half price chicken breasts acquired, left the whole chicken due to lack of freezer space. Also acquired custard as none in stock in lidl for a while.

£3.54 today on a few YS portions of salmon fillets - it’s my favourite so I wasn’t saying no - and some YS bread and crumpets.

Suffolk_lass thanks for the welcome. Wasn't sure if anyone I remembered would still be on here. I didn't give up my money saving ways while awol. Been very busy in my Church - meetings galore. 2 new Grandchildren have arrived - Mabel and Nora. Really got into my crafting - for fund raising.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Humongous shop to start the year of £88.20, which included lots of fire stuff. Plus milk £3.24, the weekly bill. Most of this should last 2 weeks.
I've been experimenting with the instant pot my brother got me for Christmas! It's amazing! All the recipes out there are a bit American, so need adjusting (their sausage to pasta ratio is ridiculous). Made a chilli, and a sausage pasta thing (to use up Christmas cream) and used it today to cook a swede, carrot and kale mash (to use up the kale), and the way it cooks swede is very well indeed. It part-cooked potatoes for roasties excellently, but need to tone down the blast on the parsnips. Plus points, have doubtless saved lots of energy as well as time. Negative points: have learned to point the steam vent away from the veneers on my kitchen cupboards a tad too late.
Keep reading books!

Another speedy day today, but, we shouldn't need to go to shops now throughout the week. Spent a whopping £69.86, but most of this was in fire supplies. The radiators are being removed tomorrow for plastering for about two weeks, so supplies for wood burning stove were required which have come out of our grocery/household budget.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

First spends of 2021 today - £11.70 between Morry's and my corner shop. Actually did a half shop, but had a voucher to spend and got 10% off with my Blue Light card (ends 5 Jan). Hoping to not spend until near the end of the week now. Littlies back to school Tuesday, me and DH back to work tomorrow. He takes fruit and other bits, I'm taking some of LO cheese & onion tart from tonight's tea (enough left for the kids' lunch).
