Woohoo, beautiful sunshine out there. At last the cat is happy to go outside. It has been like wacky races here for about a week.
Lynnsey30 congratulations on your new grandchild.xx
Regarding my fave curtains, they are not wide enough for any of the windows at this house, and you are right Mrs SD I would like to move again at some point. This house is Edwardian, the last 70's the one before 30's and the one before that Victorian! They are the only curtains that I have taken on every move.
The corner cupboard in the kitchen took far longer than expected as I have to sit on the floor and contort myself to reach into it's depths. Most of its contents are wrapped in bubble wrap and are in handy size wine boxes. Think tea sets and coffee sets. I love the coffee set ( Port merion Pheonix) and will display it at another house,it matches the unused curtains . The tea set I used a lot before covid as I often hosted my craft group here. Some things that had been packed for the move that didn't happen brought back into use. I discovered a small glass vase inside a large glass vase, both broken. Today I will excavate the massive airing cupboard.

Really trying to get my mojo working, but at the moment all I want to do is sleep. I feel physically and mentally exhausted... must give myself a kick up the butt and try to do better.
Sending (((hugs))) to all who need them. XX
Thankyou for my 🏅Mrs SD. It has took YEARS to start giving back and getting rid of the kids stuff. In the loft is schoolwork. That will be the next thing down when I go in again.
My new dresser arrived today. We part exchanged the older less attractive one. It is a lot smaller and we will be getting rid of two pieces of furniture too. Going to load it up now. I am very excited

Sorting the dresser also meant sorting the stuff in the drinks/DVD/CD cabinet. This has lead to sorting out the dvd storage in tv cabinet. I now have 1 box of stuff to sell, a small pile to watch then sell or donate. A few keepers and a third box DH is going to work through and take record for out media player and then they will be sold or donated. Over a hundred discs and albums never mind the box sets.
👏
I know I have more to do with the selling of discs but to be honest these will go where all my other sale items are .
In the night I couldn't sleep so cleared and valued a second bookshelf. Who would have thought all the stuff I have been collecting has two values. One the pleasure of letting it go (one way or another) and a financial value that will contribute to my retirement plans.
I have been thinking lately 1. What would happen to all that stuff if I died now? I don't want my family sorting it all. I want it gone before I am.
2. I also realised that I don't enjoy the weighty tomes that are a lot of sci fi and fantasy books I used to read. I can never remember the stories and it hurts my wrists to hold them to read. They are all going without being read.
3. That all those books and other stuff were a psychological protection and a throwback from being poor as a child. I was a great lover of jumble sales and started piling up stuff as soon as I had money. The stuff has filled a hole over the years but..........
4. I don't enjoy the clutter. It isn't cosy any more, just a mental drag. I feel so overwhelmed with it all at times that I can't do anything. Of course that doesn't help anyone especially not me. I has definitely been affecting my relationship with DH recently.
Right, now I have that off my chest I am going to go and get my walk in for the day.
Take care all.
