1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)Another Monday over & done. Earnest attached himself to my DH 😉: cloakroom window frame re-sealed; coving glued back in place; picture put up in cloakroom; shelf sourced from our garage, cut to size & put up in cloakroom - shelf is good quality so no need to paint but the supports - block of wood at each end do need painting. The shelf is now full - toilet rolls, cleaning products & the automatic air freshener. The only item left on the floor is the toilet brush in its holder. The window sill now only has a toothbrush, toothpaste & mouthwash on it. My contribution was to hoover up the dust from drilling, cleaning the mirror & stacking the shelf 😉 Why it took me almost 22 years to have the idea of a shelf is one of life’s mysteries 😉😉 I have started another beanie. Dinner was lo cheesy pasta & lo spaghetti Bolognese.
88 - 90 Kitchen recycling, Cardboard box, glass jar - recycled
91 - 92 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
93 Pair of slipper socks (that I bought for myself but don’t fit round my calves) to CS bag
Good work oceanspirit 👏 Fingers crossed 🤞 that the freezer is emptied & defrosted sooner rather than later 🤞
Good work bit_by_bit 👏 Great idea for repurposing plastic bottles 👏 One medal 🏅 is on its way - I am just wondering how long it took you to get comfortable with saying “no” to your DS2?
elsien, I have to sort my freezers again 🙁 There is an advantage to doing it at this time of the year - nothing will defrost 😉
You have been busy the_cross_rabbit 👏
Good work gettingthrifty 👏 steady progress 🙂
Good work Nicnak 👏 YES you will get on top of it 🙂
Hi one_legged_wonder 👋 did you have a different name? as you appear to be missing from my list 😞 Regardless, well done on your decluttering & the judicious use of a spare cardboard box 👏
Excellent work moneyonmymindsam 👏 I did have to grin at your reference to plus one 😂
Great work short_bird 👏 Fingers crossed that you have no problems with the overflow pipe 🤞 Is there any way to lag it?
You are welcome E.m.m.a_2 🙂 Great decluttering work 👏 surprised you could do so much along with the homeschooling 👏 Perhaps you could camp in the back garden when the weather gets better 😉 - less hassle than packing for a camping trip away from & still an adventure 🙂😉 Pat on the back for being organised & putting your procrastinator persona on ice 👏😉 ‘NO’ is definitely a hard word to master 🙁 By the time I learned to say no in the workplace, I was just about to retire 😉😂
How very ‘clever’ of your parents, -taff 😉😉 Excellent advice re keeping other people’s clutter in the car until it can be disposed of 👏 one medal 🏅 on its way. This is what I love about this thread - hints, tips, advice 👏 2021 is definitely OUR year - ALL of us will be successful in our decluttering efforts - after all it is our new Hobby 😉 Unfortunately Double Handling doesn’t only apply to other people’s clutter ☹️ I am guilty of moving things from one place to another BUT I am getting better at only handling items once😉🤞
Nice to see you Barny1979 👋 Great start 👏 decluttering & earning 👏
Great work VickyV 👏 another one going down the cash for clutter route 👏MrsSDDecluttering Target: 2021 93/2021Savings Pot:Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £299.00

Crikey! It's taken me hours to read through all these posts, and made me feel really guilty in the process.
I have managed to do a bit. Emptied all of the books from the bedroom cupboard onto the bed (and floor and every top available) and made a start on sorting them out. Have started a pile to go to freecycle and started putting some on bookshelves which I cleared of 'things'. Going to get the app on my phone for webuybooks, Music magpie etc to get some others out of the way, but going to have to keep some that are very old friends.
The cooker has been decluttered of lots of gunge! Oven Pride worked wonders and it now looks like new (it's about 30 years old so I'm really pleased with that)
Really trying to get my mojo working, but at the moment all I want to do is sleep. I feel physically and mentally exhausted... must give myself a kick up the butt and try to do better.
Sending (((hugs))) to all who need them. XXI Believe.....
That it isn't always enough, to be forgiven by others.
Sometimes, you have to learn to forgive yourself.

Today is a gift. That's why it is called the present.

Hello Chrystal. Feel proud of yourself.
Other than the normal daily stuff (cooking washing shopping, walking the dog etc) all I have managed to do the last few days is make a worse mess moving things around and pulling things out. No sorting and nothing out. So you have done well.
However, today is a new gift...........that I will use with 'just do something'.
Love to all

Decluttered a pair of curtains £5 ker-ching, I price them cheaply to guarantee a sale, these were a beautiful damask lge pair, but red and black, not an option for many, squeezed new bathroom trolley into available space, by means of leaving one tube loose, now need new baskets, use the old ones in kitchen cupboards and fridge, must list the old shelf unit later.Do I need it or just want it.8

@MrsSD yes you were spot on. Been having a lot of password problems so when I saw that it had used an old username from quite a few years ago (one legged wonder) I was really surprised as that was a nightmare when that went wrong. Should be back as Happy Kitties now with my neutral items in tow!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Morning all. Not managed to declutter things so to speak but finally pushed DH to send his sister's birthday present off to her so that's one thing that's left the spare room of doom 😂 Did also defrost most of the freezer over the weekend and organised it all so I can see what we actually have in there now and weave it into the meal plan accordingly. Also trying to get on top of the housework so restarted Team TOMM yesterday - day 1 done and still have a clean and tidy lounge and kitchen 🙌Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201710

9-30. Little lampshades that go on the bulbs of chandeliers and wall lights (my mum has just moved into new place and I acquired anything she didn't want/need). Bagged up and going to tip (realistically no one is going to want/need them!)
Note to self: Do not acquire anyone else's clutter! Then I won't need to feel guilty about not re-using/cycling/purposing it!
I feel your pain! My family used to do this all the time.
Then one day there was family "discontent" shall i say because much later ..and im talking years! the said item was wanted again.of course it was long gone.
It took a long time to learn to say but whenever im given anything i now i say...
" thats really kind of you..if i cant find a use for it are you happy for me to pass it on?" If they hesitate i say " you best keep it then "15
