2021 MISSION DECLUTTER and CLEAN

Hi All,

You are all doing so well.

Since last Tuesday my count has increased slightly

11  Chipped cups to the dustbin
12  Magazines to recycling
13  Leaflets to recycling
14  Wardrobe sorted, many items to clothes bank and some to be listed for selling
15  Carrier bags recycled

As I said not much, but it was quite cathartic sorting the wardrobe and applying some learned behaviour.  Out have gone items I have not worn for some time, either they do not fit or I no longer like them.  Others which do not fit and I like are back in the wardrobe on reversed hangers, if they are still like that in 6 months they will be going to the CS.

Next step is my drawers, but will tackle them one at a time, there are 10 to do. 

Don't even get me started on what's under the ottoman bed, handbags, purses, hats, photos

Hello all, lots of inspiring posts, it’s great to be participating, rather than just reading along like I used to!

I cleaned the shutters and window in our bedroom , I was supposed to do the front room too but I have sat down with a cuppa and some Christmas chocolate biscuits.....

I have a box of clothes outside awaiting to be picked up by charity. It’s been there all day and they haven’t come yet. Worse thing is as the day has gone on I have found more and more stuff to put in it so now it’s full to the top of the flaps whereas before the flaps fitted over each other  IYSWIM

so 2 pairs of sandals and a pair of shoes went in and some strange looking basket weave bag with birds on it that MIL filled with Easter eggs for my LO in April and it’s been in the bottom of the shoe cupboard ever since.... hopefully someone will like it. 🤭

Toaster, trainers and a book have all left the building. Will count is as half a bin bag. 
That's 9 1/2 so far for me. X

A bed throw and cushions gone £5 kerching, an assortment of baskets and trays from town, already moved a few things about, find you need to live with something to find out if it works, will declutter some cups/mugs and bits tomorrow, trying to free up at least one cupboard for my herbs and spices etc.

1. KITCHEN WILL CONTINUE TO BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT

2. JUST DO ONE THING EVERY DAY (courtesy of bit_by_bit) OTHER THAN DAY TO DAY CLEANING & DECLUTTERING 
3. CLEAN ONE ROOM (TOP TO BOTTOM) EVERY MONTH (hopefully 3 weekly by the end of the year)

Tuesday is another grey, dreary day with the threat of rain. Up & dressed by 11:00 a.m. & made sure DSis was up 😉 She was - actually in the bath getting ready for appointment at doctors. Arrived on time & came home with an hospital letter for an X-ray for her shoulder. DH took her on the motorbike about 2:15 p.m. - he will post my letters/cards which saves me a trip out 😂 (Got back 4:00 p.m.)
Meanwhile Earnest joined me in the kitchen 😉 Roasted enough vegetables for 3 soups & fried up mirepoix for 3 soups. 2 lots of each have been bagged & frozen - with a quick sort out of the garage freezer. All the fridge los together with a couple of boxes of bits from the kitchen freezer & the 3rd portion of roasted vegetables & mirepoix have been bunged together for a soup which is currently cooking. The washing up has been done. Bye bye Earnest 😉 now watching TV.

Chrystal, not the intention to make you feel guilty 😞 but it did ‘inspire’ you 😉😉 Sorry you are so exhausted 🙁 there seems to be a lot of that going around ☹️ No kick up the butt is required - just a bit of tlc 🙂 I agree with balabooberlies- you should be proud 👏

Well done balabooberlies 👏 keeping on top of daily activities ‘is’ a success - you are stopping new clutter establishing a foothold. Now that everything is out, you can see what you have & can pick a couple of items to deal with completely 🙂 sounds like the Marie Kondo system 😉

Decluttering is off.
I appear to have decluttered my  work diploma portfolio thinking it was the copy. And it’s all gone to the paperbank so can’t be retrieved,
My own fault for not checking more carefully but I’m not happy. There’s no way of getting a copy.
