I've got some good quick clean decorators I can share - I've decluttered quite a few hundred pounds today as they have painted my bathroom, kitchen & lounge (one wall to be papered tomorrow). The decluttering has already started as I begin to put things back & decide I don't need to keep everything 😁2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Argh, just lost my post -- dilemma whether to get rid of one of my 2 xmas trees. One has dodgy stand and can fall over but had years so sentimental (not sure good to be sentimental over a xmas tree) and other doesn't fall over but not quite as full.
Large pinboard picked up by neighbour.
Few frogs including helping DD get phone mended (faulty after repair and trying to charge her again - so I was taken to put a stop to that). Phone mended with no more £. Difficult email sent, and complaint to broadband for poor service, calling once today and not calling again but instead sending a text saying will call on the 8th December!
Counting as 4 - will add later, and may pass on a tree9 -
That is broadband people called and didn't call again but texted me. Problem is landline is so poor that if anyone calls me on it they can't hear me complain properly8

Slow going here, but progress is progress. Had Tuesday and Wednesday off as wasn't feeling at all well and no heating at my house (found the number for DS3 and he phoned the boiler man and paid for getting it fixed). Fell asleep about 8 pm on Wednesday but was wide awake at 1.45 am. Did a move round in this bedroom (at mum's bungalow). Only rubbish and recycling out but now have a wide path from the bed to the door, rather than having to tip toe/ twister across (and nearly falling when the next toe hold was at an awkward angle). Mostly from moving stuff from other rooms out of other people's way.
I went through a bag with sheets and found my pillowcases, so am staring the process of making sure all my bedding is clean and dry and will then take it home and use mum's bedding. I have some cube shelves at home with space so am going to use it for bedding, some clothes and maybe my box of embroidery fabric (already in a cube box here so just a matter of putting it in the taxi with me one day). Need to start moving things across as and when there is space (and areas have been cleaned). Area in this case means a shelf, drawer, wardrobe or floor space.
I am going to count each box as an item out, even though most are just being relocated. It's such an enormous job, I need some way of measuring progress so I don't lose heart. It took me a week to move here (to mum's bungalow) at the start of the pandemic. Stuff I'd packed but hadn't time to move (those poor taxi drivers) came in stages when people were available/ it was permitted. We went from national lockdown, had a couple of weeks to emerge from our shelves before going into a local lockdown and then the highest tier. I was just looking forward to the possibility of going to town/ home once a week then we had the October lockdown and then 'allowed out' but not safe according to the scientists.
Meanwhile the normal messy but liveable state of my house descended into utter chaos and none of us had the physical energy or mental health to tackle it. Didn't help that someone stole the bin at my house.
I also have several large items (fridge/freezer, ceiling height bookshelf, large footstool, large analogue only tv) mostly acquired when DS3 moved in with his gf and they merged households, so i will need a man and van at some point. In addition when I moved in, mum decided I could take on the cleaner's duties but that she wouldn't pay me - but all the purchases for the garden (polytunnel etc) would be mine to take home . Roof repair is back on the agenda (should have been done 4 years ago, roofer is good but has a very long waiting list) so want to keep the yard clear for scaffolding. I used several items from the fridge/ freezer yesterday as that needs to be emptied before moving.
Current totals 15 for Wednesday, 30 for yesterday, 326/ 2021 for the year.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage9 -
Before & after pics - the toffee colour was all the same paint & hadn't been applied behind the fridge freezer or heated towel rail so gave a rather odd two-tone effect:

Morning all. Love the new paint @Floss we need to decorate our kitchen in the new year and can't decide what colour to go for - currently have a really dark purple that the previous owners left, along with random black tiles in amongst the white ones 🤷♀️
Put our Christmas decorations up on Wednesday night - don't know what it is about a Christmas tree but the house feels more cosy now. Still staying on top of the cleaning-ish: last load of laundry for the week is currently on, have another load to put away later and will deep clean the bathroom this evening, ready to just wipe it all over before our guests arrive tomorrow. Still haven't got round to listing things for sale, really need to get on top of that.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 201710 -
