Tuesday is a lot duller but also quite a bit warmer than of late 🙂 DH received yet another birthday card this a.m. 🙂 Our steak dinner last night was delicious as was the cake DSis made 🤤 It was also like my birthday as DSis did the wudupa 👏🥳 I have had a little flurry of activity - finally binned my birthday flowers 😉; mini sort out of my cardboard box collection & dumped the remainder in the the Room of Doom (will sort properly over the next week or so); dusted & tidied 4 table top surfaces; cleaned & dusted lr windowsill.2171 - 2184 Kitchen recycling, 2 cardboard boxes, 5 newspapers, scraps of paper, 2 glass beer bottles, 3 plastic containers - recycled
2185 - 2188 Kitchen, lr & dr detritus, dead flowers - binned
Good work EnergyShifter 👏Thanks TC77 👏 We are rather pleased that we have made the most of the family gatherings as, since Doris announced mandatory face masks, I am leaning towards the idea that Doris will be announcing another lockdown. Of course he will leave it to the last possible moment so that he destroys everyone’s Christmas AGAIN 😖 😔 Sorry to hear that RL is weighing you down ☹️ but well done on clearing frogs 👏 As you say, with the clutter being visible it does make one more inclined to clear it 😉 & I know you will do it 🙂
What a great way to clear the decks Floss 👏 I do love the description 🙂You are welcome ruby_eskimo 🙂 You have been very busy & I see you have today planned out as well 👏 Hopefully you will find time to list items for sale amidst all the cleaning 🤞Absolutely brilliant florianatwobob 👏 Your carpenter sounds like a keeper 🙂 Excellent work on finding such great tradesmen 👏 and keeping them all sweet 😉Glad you asked about the carpenter vulpix 😉 You probably have so many birthdays that it is surprising you only got one date wrong 😉😉 Reminds me that after I write the Christmas cards I need to sort all next years birthday card purchases 😔 Sounds like the snow has ignited the Christmas mood & you are getting organised 👏 All your previous decluttering is paying dividends - you are keeping on top of the tidying & it is feeding your happiness 🙂👏Sorry you are not feeling too well Wednesday2000 ☹️ but great work on the tidying & decluttering 👏 You are on a mission & even feeling unwell is not going to stop you 🙂👏
mothernerd, I fell off the sofa I laughed so hard 🤣 that is absolutely the best divorce story I have ever heard 😂 Excellent work sorting out the cardboard box collection 👏 & I like your elastic sided recycling bin 😉 You have been very busy cleaning, sorting & organising 👏 & I am pleased to hear that DS3 is pitching in 🙂 Even if he is a bit like a wrecking ball 😉 only joking 🙃 Trying to organise 2 houses, take care of your mum & organising your DS3 sounds absolutely exhausting 😔 no wonder you are unwell 🤒. Whilst I appreciate you wish to get lots done, please try to rest as much as possible 🙏
Thanks for the birthday wishes balabooberlies 👏 belated or not they are always gratefully received 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇🥇 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Decluttering Target: 2021 2188/2021

Mothernerd, to cut down on the amount of shed hairs all through the house: tell DS3 en Beloved to brush their hair while standing with their calves against the bath or shower stall. The loose hair will fall into the bath/shower stall, can be flushed to the draining hole with the shower, and removed with a piece of toilet paper (I hate touching anything in the draining hole with my fingers!). Make sure there is a filter on the draining hole.

Pulled out my cooker and cleaned it thoroughly- I hate that it’s not built in. I also washed my kitchen rug and doormat. My landlords inspection was postponed until next Monday so, with a final push to get my paperwork sorted by the end of the year, I think I’m just about decluttered and on top of things. I have some more planned spending on home decor and the garden, but it’s time to start some projects/hobbies 😃
I quite fancy making Roman blinds for my kitchen and bathroom and I’ve got a few really nice pieces of clothing that would be easy to copy. I think a trip to Southampton is in order to check out some fabrics and explore my options 😃 hopefully I will be able to come across a decent sewing machine along the way – nothing fancy, just reliable (unlike me 😂😂 )
i’ve still got quite a lot of things to sell – framed medals, some pictures and some military bronzes, not decluttering as such but more along the lines of Swedish death cleaning/liquidating assets to enjoy their value😉 😂😂 i’m at that point in my life where I don’t want my dead father’s war-stuff hanging on my walls - I want cute pictures of my children and grandchildren 😊 I shall need to do a bit of research and to be honest, I’ve done enough this year!I couldn’t of done this without a lot of support so, thank you guys 😃
it’s a bit of an anti-climax to reach the ‘end’ 😐9 -

DH went out to do a small sm shop + picked up duvet set for DSis’s Christmas present. I finally sorted the overnight bags - everything put away or put in laundry basket; made two focaccias - DH’s DSis, DNiece & DGNiece are popping in tomorrow after a trip to the Swedish store. They will be dropping off DH’s birthday hamper & stopping for a cuppa & a bit of focaccia with mozzarella, tomatoes & olives. I hope the focaccias taste as good as they look 😉🤞Dinner was oven baked salmon fillets, boiled potatoes and peas. Wudupa twice today 🙂

Sorry your cough has worn you down GrannyKate ☹️ Everything you counted IS decluttering - you have stopped all those jobs turning into frogs 👏 Well done on the recycling 👏
What a great idea Siebrie - thank you for that 👏
Excellent work Vascodakarma 👏 It must be marvellous to see the end of your decluttering is in sight & incorporating Swedish Death Cleaning sales to fund some projects 🙂🥳 Definitely not an anticlimax 😉 just an opportunity to bask in your success & let us see that perseverance will get us to the same happy outcome 🙂 I really hope that you stay with us next year, as I for one loved hearing about your life & holidays 🙂👏 Maintenance decluttering/cleaning still counts 😉
Well done on coming out of your comfort zone, EnergyShifter 👏 You do know that a webinar counts as an item decluttered 😉
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏

Morning all. @EnergyShifter I feel the same after webinars and presentations; I absolutely hate doing them but pushed myself out of my comfort zone by taking on a job that I knew involved giving a lot of them 😳 Luckily my schedule is fairly flexible so I can make sure I don't too too many in a week (and never more than 1 a day) and then just collapse in a heap with a cup of tea afterwards 😆 Well done for taking it on at short notice though!
Bedroom is clean and tidy apart from the pile of stuff to sell in the corner. May leave it till the weekend now, although we might be going to help clear out DH's godfathers house on Sunday which will mean bringing a bunch more stuff back here.
Today we're putting up the Christmas decorations after work, and I'm going to give the hallway, stairs etc. a quick dust a vacuum afterwards. Then it's on to writing Christmas cards!Emergency Fund - £7992.62 / £10,000 :: Total Mortgage OP - £34,692LISA 24/25 - £0 / £4000 :: NSD 2024 - 13 / 180 :: Moving Fund: £838.83 :: Decluttering - 143 / 365Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20179 -
