Saturday all 3 of us had a bath, packed & were ready to depart to catch our train but when DH checked the train was cancelled 😞 So we had an extra 20 minutes at home 🙂 Bus to DLR station, DLR to train station then slow train to Rainham (19 stops 😱) Happily DH’s niece (S) picked us up from the station 👏 as it was bitterly cold with a high wind 💨 Hot drinks & chatting to S & DH’s DSis (W) whilst dinner was cooking (the men folk C & T were at a lodge dinner 😉😉) We had cottage pie, broccoli & carrots 🤤 & a couple of drinks. Although DH & I had been there 2 weeks before we still had plenty to talk about & with DSis in the mix there was even more to chat about 😉 C & T got back about 9:00 p.m. & we carried on chatting & laughing + DH received a birthday hamper containing crisps, engraved glass, jokey mug, St. Lucia guide book, apron (Old Lives Matter) + half a dozen bottles of beer with special labels 😉 W & T went home (next door) at 10:30 p.m. Then more chat until midnight when the rest of us went to bed (whilst the wind raged outside). Sunday we were all up by 10:00 a.m. - DH showered & then each had a bit of toast for breakfast. S, W & T headed off to The Great Danes about 12:15. C took DH, DSis & me in his car 20 minutes later. Not quite the same family members as at DSisIL’s (M) 80th but well attended 🙂 - so W, T, S, C + W’s son (P) & his two boys (L & Ty) + S’s daughter (Sh), husband (D) & 3 year old son (R) Also M + daughter (G) & her husband (E) & their daughter (H) + fiancé (Cr) & their 3 month old son (He) + birthday boy 👦, me & DSis = 19 of us 🙂 Another glorious family get together - lots of chat, laughter & hugs + great food & plenty of drink 🙂 My hug bucket is now overflowing 🥳 The ‘cake’ was lots of iced cup cakes on a 3 tier cake stand (made by DH’s great niece Sh 👏 ) DH opened his cards + received a few more bottles of beer (the party was the present 👏) & then made a lovely speech - all about how lucky we all were to have such a wonderful, loving family 😌 A great 4.5 hours 👏 DH, DSis & I went back to S & C’s to get changed into warm clothes + coffee & cake. Then driven to station in time to catch 7:00 p.m. train - home by 9:00 p.m.
Another wonderful weekend 🥳 & we still have DH’s actual birthday on Monday 😉
Straight into cheerleading.

Morning all. Hugs to those that need them and happy birthday to your DH Mrs_SD! Sounds like another lovely weekend surrounded by family.
Had Friday off work last week and decided to finish a frog - sorting out all our paperwork and mementos. It's all condensed down now into one box for essential paperwork and another for memories / sentimental things. Managed to get rid of 28 items straight into the recycling and a lot more into the shredding but I'll count those when they actually get shredded (which should be this week...). Also had 5 large boxes which have been lying around that went into the recycling this morning so not a bad weekend really for someone who sat on the sofa for most of it!
Have some friends coming over on Saturday with their 4 month old baby who we haven't met yet, so going to give the house an even more thorough clean this week. Living room on the agenda today and for once we're up to date with laundry, just have a load on the airer to put away later on. Also need to get back to listing things to sell so setting a target of 5 items today.
Hope everyone has a good day and stays warm.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20178 -
In a surprising turn of events, dd2 (13, 2nd year secondary school) told me she had taken a handful of condoms to school with her, to show classmates. Purely academically, because due to corona they missed so many sex ed classes, and during a break she and a few of her classmates started discussing the sex ed they had (not) had. DD2 volunteered to show them condoms and a pregnancy test. She's a sweet girl, but should have come to me first.... Anyway, husband can stay a bit longer.

Hi all, it's been rather hectic here, mostly work related, however we do have builders joining us during the day as they do some work on the roof - so extra cups of tea & coffee required. they are happily using a fair bit of the timber we bought earlier in the year for this job so when they are finished the driveway will look much better and any remaining timber will be stored in the garage roof space ready for use next year.
Sorry to read people's bad news, thinking of you.
Encouraged by lots of positive stories and motivated people.
Thank you also for my gold stars @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I've definitely moved into Christmas mode so decluttering is taking a back seat but some more to report:
309-312 Socks into material recycling
313 DD's puddle suit. This was replaced as she'd outgrown the last one, the new one should do possibly 4 winters
314-317 Google drive - storage full and not receiving emails. I photos are on a memory card backed up on an external hard drive so don't need the additional storage. They suggested 4 different categories to clear down and i actioned them all.
318-321 Garden \ driveway clear up. Large quantities of rubbish added to the skip pile and additional items moved to their correct resting place. 2 hours of solid cleanup, claiming 4June Grocery Challenge £0/£250

I have another two bags to go to the charity shop tomorrow. I got rid of most of my paper books. I think I only have two left now.
I went through my kitchen drawer and disposed of a few things there too that I never use. It's strange when you buy kitchen stuff but never use it. My husband was saying that yesterday about the air fryer. He uses it but I never do!
2025 GOALS

2173: drat, broke a plate
2174-2182: 2 GB date and 350 emails
2183-2222: items to bin and recycling (including sticky tape that was only sticking to itself)
2223-2228: card and presents delivered.
Apologies for my absence: went to visit Bath for a couple of days then started a mad few days at work. My work week started last Friday and finishes Thursday nightI'm just about keeping up with the laundry but that's it; the days seem to disappear!

2 items into CS box
Some personal care items taken out of drawer to use up.
Summer clothes taken out of wardrobe to make space for winter clothes. In the future this won’t be necessary as I have too many clothes overall but won’t be sorting them until the papers are all done. The existence of the papers are definitely causing me more stress than the clothes so they are my decluttering priority.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅9 -

Back again 🙂 Monday is an absolutely freezing day 🥶 I am wearing several layers & have the CH on as well 😱 DH opened the rest of his cards, tried on his jumper which fits perfectly & opened presents from the niece (we had lunch with the Friday before last) - a handy gadget - magnetic wrist strap for use when doing DIY that requires screws/nails etc. + very thoughtful presents from my DSis - a scratch off wall map of the U.K. (for the RBR), a foot massager, a mug “You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy a f…… big bike (and that’s pretty close)”, a 5 piece magnetic telescopic maglight (for use in the garage) & a couple of bars of chocolate orange 🙂 She is now in the kitchen making her lovely chocolate & coconut cake 👏 My contribution to the cake making was to test the eggs for freshness 😉& lick the bowl 😉 although I did make fish finger sandwiches for DH’s lunch 🙂 DH’s birthday dinner will be steak, chips, mushrooms, tomatoes & peas. Just had a box delivered for DH - another present from the great nephew who was unable to be at yesterday’s lunch party - a box of bottled beers 👏 DH is sorted for Christmas drinks 😉😉
2165 - 2169 Three cardboard boxes, paper packaging x 2 - recycled
2170 Embossed wrapping paper - binned
Nice post Floss 👏

Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 & I have every faith that you will reach your target 🙂
Lovely to see you Finstickle 👋 Life definitely sounds hectic 🙂 Two decluttering jobs in one - roof being sorted & timber being used 👏 You might be in Christmas mode but you are still getting lots of decluttering done 👏 I am especially impressed by the electronic decluttering 👏
Great work Wednesday2000 👏
Great work short_bird 👏 especially the electronic decluttering 👏
Excellent work oceanspirit 👏 & well done for prioritising paperwork over clothing 🙂👏 You are tackling the hardest task first & when completed it should mean that the clothes decluttering will be a doddle 🤞
