Hi all, the flooring is done and today the carpet on the stairs and landing was layed. It is amazing how good it feels underfoot after living with bare floorboards for so long, I don't have to wear slippers all the time now for a start
. I am giving it a day to settle and I will give it a hoover tomorrow, the fitter said it was ok to do this, to pick up the bits of fluff. I have a bag of small offcuts that need to be taken to the tip as my bin is full and a few large offcuts that can be turned into mats. There is somewhere I know that used to do this pre covid but I am not really sure if they are still in existance I will have to investigate tomorrow. I am very impressed with all the fitters and even though the shop is not the closest to me I will definitely use them again and definitely recommend them.
@vulpix re hotel toiletries, there is a lady where I used to work who collected them for a charity who help homeless new mums, often in a refuge. It is called baby basics and they take baby clothes and things for new babies up to 3 months old but they also took hotel toiletries to make up a little care pack for the mums. I think it's quite a small charity and I only heard about it through this lady at work but they seem to be linked to the women's refuges. That is what I did with any unopened hotel toiletries I managed to bring home
Today I spent a stupid amount of time sorting out some football tickets. It used to be so much easier but I am a bit of a Lucite. I have also hopefully sorted a partial refund on some tickets as I was charged full price but I have a concession ticket. They are supposed to be phoning me on Monday to sort it out, we shall see.
Tomorrow I have some union things to do but hopefully it won't take too long.
Off to bed now as my eyes are drooping and my brain is failing to function properly.
Take care everyone9 -

Thursday was another dry, cold day. I accompanied DH to MrS on the off chance of finding a top but nothing suitable ☹️ We stopped in at D*n*lm to find a duvet set for DSis but not in stock 😞 although did manage to find something that I hope DSis will love 🤞DH & DSis finished their Chinese from yesterday. I had lo lasagne & a small portion of cottage pie. Wudupa.
2152 - 2159 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, 5 takeaway boxes & lids, plastic bottle - recycled
2160 Kitchen detritus - binned
Nice to see you chirpycheap 👋 Well done on the wardrobe declutter - great work 👏 You should never waste a pretty diary 😉 nothing to do with hoarding 😉 May your sales be plentiful & time wasters few 🤞
How exciting florianatwobob 🙂 carpenter starting on Monday 👏 Perfect reason to declutter 🙂
Very frugal vulpix 👏 I am currently transposing recipes from scrappy notebooks to a very pretty notebook that my DSis bought me as a Christmas present a few years ago - a time consuming job but once done the next stage can begin - transposing recipes from the internet 😱 Good luck with the ironing & finishing your crafting 🤞
Sorry to hear you are rather poorly bit_by_bit ☹️ Sending healing vibes your way. You are so right bit_by_bit, fab days are definitely so much more precious now 🙂 Please take the time to rest as much as possible until you are fully well.
Excellent work on decluttering paperwork, oceanspirit 👏 I haven’t felt the ‘spirit of Christmas’ for years 😱 Although I do still send Christmas cards by post 😉 Currently the shoebox full of cards is sitting on the floor waiting for me to start writing them 😔 You could count writing Christmas cards as decluttering 😉
Nice to see you skogar 👋 How dare RL get in the way of decluttering 😂 A lovely cheerleading post 👏
Good work TC77 👏 My frogs are also breeding but the big one started a couple of months ago has been fully dealt with as DB completed the last stage 👏🥳
Liverpool_Anne, the flooring & carpet laying sound wonderful 🙂👏 Nice to find good fitters & the shop must be good if you are happy to recommend them 🙂 Shame it took so long to sort out the football tickets ☹️ Gone are the good old days when you could phone & chat to someone 😢

Hi Skogar 😂😂 as ever, I’ve got carried away too early in the week and tired myself out! The new medication doesn’t appear to be working because I still keep losing my days of the week - handy that it’s Friday today not Sat today but it’s still really unsettling. Good job no one relies on me for anything. Apart from the cat 😂😂13

Yummy cat Vascoda.
I hope you are feeling better today bit by bit. There some nasty bugs about. Don't over do it if you are feeling a bit better. When i worked I was always glad to get winter bugs out of the way early, hoping that I wouldn't be ill over Christmas.
I feel like I should be decluttering more than I do these days. Reading decluttering success here makes me itch to rid more.
Liverpool-Anne, I looked for the soaps yesterday after I mentioned them. They weren't where I thought they were. I have seen them recently so they must be in a toiletry bag in the suitcase that I dutifully put in the pantry of doom. I wonder if your little charity would be interested in some hand knit baby items. I like to craft but have no outlet for things. How very decadent to walk bare foot in new carpet, enjoy.
My ancient desk fan has died after many years of nightly service. I put it on to disguise Mr V's intermittent snoring. If it was constant snoring you could zone out but snore, silence, different snore keeps me awake!
The joiner has decided that he can't do our job after all. No rush. Toilet not in use anyway till the plumber is better. He had an horrific accident so it will be a while.
I feel like I accomplished a lot yesterday. 2 loads of washing line dried, bin full of leaves swept, dinner made and 3 portions for the freezer. I am still hand sewing the velvet edge onto the woollen blanket. Sew, undo, sew etc, I WILL get it to sit right.
Today is my old village Christmas fair. I am going after lunch to set up with my friend then to have the first shift on the stall. There are always reindeer there ,someone local keeps them as pets.
Not able to update numbers atm. Cat asleep on my kee, couldn't possibly disturb him. Cuts both ways ,his body heat feels lovely on my arthritic knee.

Not much going on as still struggling with the cough/cold and lots of childcare.
1609 Broken glass container binned - very annoying as a favourite but I caught it as I took butter out of fridge and it smashed on floor.
1610-1612 - car insurance frogs sorted but noticed an error on paperwork so need to ring again to get that corrected.
1613 Fridge sorted and some stuff out or frozen.

More papers sorted and into recycling yesterday evening.
Watched another episode of Filthy House SOS whilst sorting papers and decided I don’t need to wait until my home is decorator friendly before making it look a bit nicer. So have ordered a new toilet seat and shower curtain for the bathroom and OH is coming over later to help me measure up for dining table and bench seat so I can order them later today. They won’t arrive in time for Christmas but just to know they are on the way will cheer me up.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅8 -
@vulpix, yes I think baby basics would love some hand knitted baby clothes, in the past I have crocheted baby blankets. They seem to operate on a local level so it would probably be best if you google them to find a local branch to see what they need. I do know they only take items for 0 - 3 months so even a small amount of wool could make something for them. I know my local group are looking for items of clothing atm. Apart from clothes they also provide moses baskets, I know my work friend used to make the liners for the baskets, I think they have a standard pattern, if you wanted to do something like that as a change7

Friday was a damp, drizzly, breezy & cold day. The 3 of us headed off to Canary Wharf where I managed to find 2 tops to match my skirt 🥳 We had a late lunch in Five Guys & DSis loved the milkshake but beef hotdogs not to her taste. Also located the booster jab B**ts 👏 We were out for 2 hours. Dinner was either beans on toast or a sandwich. Wudupa.
2161 - 2163Kitchen recycling, newspaper, Uu deodorant can - recycled
2164 Kitchen detritus - binned
Lovely to see you Vascodakarma 👋 Shame about the new meds ☹️ but hopefully once adjusted you will find the happy medium 🤞Gorgeous cat 🙂
Great chatty post vulpix cheering us all on 👏🙂 Boo to the joiner 😒 but you seem to be quite sanguine 🤔 Well done on all the work done - a very successful day 👏 Hope you enjoyed the Christmas Fair 🤞Had to smile about the cat - you are obviously very comfortable 😉
Good decluttering GrannyKate 👏 despite not feeling tip-top. Please try to get some rest 🙏
Good work oceanspirit 👏 Also well done on ordering a few bits & pieces to spruce up your home - a late Christmas present to yourself 😉
Great post Liverpool-Anne 👏 very useful information 🙂 Which reminds me that I do need to start knitting scarves & hats to use up some of my stash 😔
Saturday has started a lot brighter 🙂 I am just about to have a quick bath after finishing my cuppa 😉 & then the 3 of us need to pack an overnight bag. Heading to Kent for DH’s ‘surprise’ 60th birthday party 😉
