My rhubarb is in flowerbed near lawn - loads of rhubarb every year - popular with neighbours. Starting to recover from awful cold/cough that is going round. DGS3 who is 12 diagnosed with Covid yesterday - he just has a headache. We popped round with his sister's birthday presents but kept our distance. Not much getting done here.
1604 Cracked mug thrown away
1605 Trousers binned - put them on one day and realised I could see straight through the seat.
1606 Quiz done and papers binned
1607 Zoom meeting decluttered and papers recycled
1608 Mixed plastics to co-op recycling
My sister in US who is following us in spirit was very impressed with herself yesterday. Loft emptied for insulation and she is checking boxes before they go back - she found box of papers from late FIL house sale oct - he died 27 years ago and some tax papers from 20 years ago. All went for shredding.
I am still somewhat short of 2021 but will plodding on until 31 December.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Sunday was mainly dry but oh so very cold. Wrote small shopping list & sent DH to sm. I spent the entire day clearing down programmes from TV planner - whole 3rd series of Britannia - very weird 😱 & entire 2nd series of Cobra: Cyber War - absolutely petrifying 😳 Dinner was oven baked pork steaks & tomatoes with mash, sweetheart cabbage & carrots 🤤 I did do one extra task - made soup 😉 Wudupa.

2138 Kitchen detritus - binned
Not sure how old one of my rhubarb plants is - donated by DH’s BiL, Florianatwobob but this year was a rubbish crop ☹️ May I ask if your rhubarb plant is in the ground or in a pot? I am quite jealous 😔
Liverpool_Anne hope you managed to get washing dried outside 🤞
Great work TC77 👏 and good luck with the plan 😉 I am with you in the ‘Tomorrow Club’ TC77. Unfortunately in my case tomorrow never comes 😔 Great decluttering 👏 & good luck with your frog list 🤞
balabooberlies, maybe the resistance was due to the fact you were sorting out an old frog & he hasn’t started on his own aged frog 😉 Shame about the row but it appears to have been the best sort of row - clearing the air & resulting in a positive outcome 👏 There are some good men & you & I are lucky enough to have one each 🙂👏 I do like the idea of being a ‘Today Person’ 🙂 Perhaps if I can embrace this idea, I might not be so lazy 😉😉
Well done on being ruthless with your downstairs decluttering Blackberrycurved 👏 So sorry to hear that you have succumbed ☹️ & fingers crossed that it will be a mild case & that you recover quickly 🤞Is there someone looking after you? As to the chaos beyond the stairs - I see that a couple of our fellow declutterers have come up with some good ideas 👏🙂 Sounds like a perfect winter project 🙂 The albums & box sound beautiful 😍
Thank you -taff & balabooberlies for such nice ideas 👏 What a lovely 3 way conversation 🙂
bit_by_bit, nice to see that good things have come in 3s for your DD 👏 Sorry to hear about your DB but I did smile at the ‘memento’ 🙂😉 Very useful items for SiL which should be a great help. Great de lettering 👏
Great work Happy_Kitties 👏
Gem-gem, what a pain in the proverbial 😡 but well done on dealing with it so quickly 👏 May I ask how long your leeks have been growing? You appear to have had a large crop 🙂 Well done on the garden decluttering 👏 What a lucky find - a meal’s worth of hg potatoes 👏🙂
Lovely to see you oceanspirit 👋 You should feel very proud of yourself 👏 one day I hope I can say that decluttering has become a habit 🤞Excellent decluttering & well done on keeping your bedroom clutter free & tidy 👏👏 Good luck with the frogs 🤞

Monday has been dry but oh so very cold 🥶 I have again done nothing apart from make dinner - cottage pie with a side of spinach 🤤 Wudupa. DSis spent the day in her room but has done her washing & drying. DH booked our train tickets for Saturday & went to collect them using his newly acquired 60+ Oyster card (even though not quite 60 😉)
2139 - 2140 Kitchen recycling, large plastic bottle - recycled

Thanks for the rhubarb info florianatwobob 👏 My 2 plants are in pots - so I think I might have to find a suitable place to plant them directly into the ground. My garden is south facing & also clay. Lovely picture of a very healthy looking plant 🙂
Oops a daisy elsien 🤕 we call that a “Random Gravity Test” Pleased to hear that you are on the mend 🙂
Take care Blackberrycurved 🙂
vulpix, sounds like you had a lovely time 🙂 Shame about your DS’s broken finger & I join you in feeling sorry that he is now unable to join the RAF ☹️ Time spent with family & retail therapy 👏 Good luck with the window cleaning frog 🤞Brilliant photos - I love your mice 🙂
Siebrie, sounds like your dds are very sensible young ladies 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏 you must be noticing a real difference with the amounts you are releasing to new homes? The toolbox debacle would drive me nuts as well 😖 Fortunately my DH keeps his tools neat & tidy 🥳 The one thing he hates is not being able to find a tool that he knows he owns ☹️ So very sorry to hear that your DH has completely ignored the ‘conversation’ you had earlier in the year 😡 He sounds like a lost cause & you will be well shot of him.
Very jealous of your rhubarb GrannyKate 😉 Sorry to hear about DGS3 but hopefully the headache will be the only symptom 🤞Great decluttering 👏 One medal 🏅 on its way for your sister 👏
I don’t feel quite so bad about my leeks now Gem-gem 😉 I just thought they were taking too long 😱 Mine were also planted in early spring & transplanted in July but I am only just considering pulling a few of the bigger ones 😉 I only have about a dozen though. You had a great crop 👏

elsein,I hope you have a mobile phone with you on dog walks. My neighbour fell and broke her arm on a dog walk, miles from anywhere, no phone with her. x
Siebrie. Good that you have made a decision about DH.
With regard to DS and RAF he also had to wait 2 years after returning from living in Canada before he could apply, then did the strange break of is finger (vertical rather than the usual horizontal). I didn't know that many jobs are off limits for years if you have been out of the country for more than 3 months.
More things will leave this afternoon to craft club for the Christmas Fair on Friday. I have made some Polar Bear decorations, I am tempted to keep a couple. Lots of felt, embroidery thread and beads used up from stash. I can finally have a go at making a throw from the wool kilt and off cuts of velvet curtain.
No windows cleaned yesterday. It was such a lovely day we went out for lunch and a walk.

Heya everyone ,
Been loving reading everyone's updates and you are all doing amazing!
Thanks @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for the stars, I'll let the hubby know aha.
And yeah my sleeping has gone back to normal now, have bits of sleepless nights due to Fibromyagia pains but a cuddle and codine/hot water bottle seems to cure it.
And thank you everyone about the fish names! I haven't been out to watch them since it's getting colder - fibro doesn't like it too much but enjoy watching from the window.
We've settled so well in this house - we've taken it in our stride was saying to hubs, feels like we've been here longer than a little over a week though it's a learning curve... feels so so much like our home not just a white box we pay for to sleep & work each month !!
We;ve also encountered an issue with humidity in our house which could be causing a lot of mould .... so hubs is looking for roofing companies who can replace guttering, soffits and loft installation. This all needs to be done anyway as it was all pointed out in the building survey before we brought the house - Doesn't change love for the house though
As for decluttering, it's slowed down a little;
I deleted 1 email account that I wasn't using - made a shared email but Hubs wanted to just use our own personal emails.
deleted 4 website accounts, a bunch of emails so total is around 118 .
Hoping to put some bathroom stuff away tomorrow.
We also have some stuff in the Garage to sell, just waiting for the weekend or Thursday afternoon for me to put up for sale.🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items

Mrs SD - I have pulled my leeks because a couple them had a little red-brown mite??? In it. This happened last year around this time of year and I didn't pull them and most of the crop got infested.2025 Fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons

Hi all. Well the floor laying has started. It is mostly done but he has to come back tomorrow as he hit a snag in that the front door and the cupboard under the stairs door need to be trimmed. He will be back early tomorrow to finish it off. I am very p!eased with what has been done and the care taken to sort things out. I have previously had a carpet fitted and the fitter was quite happy to leave me without a front door. I ended up sorting it myself but made him stay to help me rehang it as it is quite a heavy door. Yesterday I spent the day completely emptying the back room and hallway and managed to fill the recycling bin with more cardboard boxes, where do they all come from,(?), and put a few things in the bin including a draft excluder that had developed crunchy bits in the stuffing (?), and a shopping trolley aquired by OH with a broken wheel that has been used once ! So that bin is also quite full. I have an appointment at the doctors tomorrow morning as well and I will have to hoover the stairs and landing as the carpets are being fitted on Thursday. I am also going to the football tomorrow evening. Expect to be a wreck snoozing on the couch on Friday
Take care everyone7 -

Oops, too drunk to post yesterday 😔😔 So here goes, Tuesday was another dry but very cold day. After a discussion with my DH about his ‘surprise party’ in Kent on Sunday we decided to forego the already arranged being driven home (traffic would be awful) & ordered train tickets for our return journey for the 3 of us. As DH decided to pick up the tickets immediately, I suggested that I join him & we could go into Lewisham first & drop off the last 2 bags of stuff for the CS (one frog dealt with) & then pick up tickets on the way back + a drink or three in Greenwich. Anyway, we dropped off bags then I persuaded DH into M*S ostensibly to buy a top to match my skirt but really to buy him a new dressing gown 😉 Sadly he did not want a dressing gown ☹️ but he did find a jumper he liked, a smart polo shirt & I added 3 plain T-shirts (as ALL DH’s T-shirts have messages/pictures 😉) No joy with a top for me - all patterned & I need plain 😔 Oh well, I still have a couple of days 🤞Then DLR to Greenwich, picked up the tickets & then 15 minute walk to our usual pub 🙂 Decided to have a snack with our drinks - a venison Scotch Egg for me with a red currant jelly & a pork & black pudding one for DH with HP sauce. They were divine 🤤 It had been such a long time since it was just the 2 of us in a pub that we carried on drinking & chatting & were there for a few hours 😱 Popped into M*S Food hall & picked up lasagne & garlic bread - bung in the oven, cook & eat 🙂 DSis was tapping her watch when we got home 😉 as a bit worried at how long we had been out 😔 The alcohol started kicking in so I was feeling sub par but dinner sorted that out 👏 😉 The Wudupa was left until Wednesday 😔 which is another dry, cold day. DH has booked both mine & DSis’s booster jabs for Thursday 2nd December - local & 5 minutes apart 👏 Hm soup for lunch. DSis out later for a blood test.
2142 - 2143 Kitchen recycling, newspaper - recycled
2144 Kitchen detritus - binned
vulpix, great post - useful advice & very interesting information re restrictions on jobs after an extended stay abroad 👏 Excellent work on your crafting & using up some of your stash 👏 Going for a walk & lunch is far more preferable than cleaning windows 😉
You are very welcome accidentalglixch 🙂 How very exciting that your new home is coming together so quickly - a testament to both you & your husband & the hard work you are doing. Such a shame about the humidity but at least you had been warned 👏 I have everything crossed 🤞 that you can get the roof etc sorted very quickly 🤞Good decluttering of electronic clutter 👏 The Love of your new home shines through every time you post & it is such a joy to me each time you post 🙂
Thanks for the warning Gem-gem 👏 As soon as I have finished here I am off to pull all my leeks 😱
Liverpool_Anne, how wonderful that the floor laying is almost done & that you have a true professional dealing with it 👏🙂 I won’t comment about the previous carpet fitter 😖 but I will send positive vibes that the new carpet fitter is more professional 🤞🤞Excellent dcluttering 👏 cardboard boxes do seem to breed but of course when you need one they seem to vanish into the ether 😉

thank you , M-S-D!
It's been lovely to be part of this thread! Wish I found you guys sooner!
It's just because I don't want to fall into the same habit of dumping everything everywhere and putting up with the rubbish... now we got storage - it's easier to tidy away & created designated spots for it. Been doing well for the most part and not just leaving stuff out & we've been putting things back where they belong...mostly. Though Pantry is a bit messy - will deal with at weekend, busy day tomorrow & Friday!
Tomorrow our new bed is coming - be weird and may have a few sleepless nights as we've been sleeping on just the mattress for about 9 months (Bed broke, was planning on moving out soon after but house purchase took forever-didn't want hassle of trying to get bed out of the tiny rented house!!) . It's a platform bed so quiet low.
Also, My hubs was given a 'one for all' £25 gift card as he attended a work conference today & his relatives gave us £10 as a Christmas present. Always helpful! Got tons of gift cards to use from various occasions!
If I'm 'talking' too much, let me know. I do rattle on sometimes!
Anyway, Decluttering.... Today is/was a slow day as super busy & stressy in work so taking a night off of physical stuff.
119 - Husband accidently threw out a hair towel thinking it was a used cleaning cloth (Stained with hair dye...) but to be honest it was old and lost it's warmth / fluff so fair play. Wasn't mad tbh.
Today is/was a slow day as super busy & stressy in work so taking a night off of physical stuff.
Today have been electronic decluttering day ;
120 - Deleted a bunch of emails some that has come in today some from various labels.
121, 122 - 2 email labels removed/deleted & Sorted emails into labels so now my Action folder is clear of 80 emails!!
123, 124, 125 - Uninstalled 3 phone apps which were making my phone super slow - haven't used them so no point being there
126 - Some web bookmarks deleted
Also.... does eating a huge fancy slice of cake that your husband lovingly grabbed for you from their conference just so you were able to enjoy & weren't left out count as decluttering ?.....
