Bala , well done with the years old frog! They can ve the most difficult.
I'm just realising how much has come into my house in the last 10 years, after I had extension to house filled up with more furniture and more stuff. While I've been chipping away taking things to cs all the time and more the last couple of years having joined here I don't want it to take 10 years!
Just been watching sort your life out.
Goinf to try and have some sort of plan9 -
TC77, thank you (and you Mrs SD)
I am aware of my hoarding tendecies and blame myself for the state of the house but when I tried to get rid of that frog the other day, the very peson who is always mentioning that it needs to be done gave me incredible resistance. So incredible I had to step back and ask him if there is an emotional attachment that I am not aware of. The response was 'No'. Leaving me totally baffled.
A row ensued where I pointed out all the things I had tried to get rid of only to meet with resistance. This includes 10 bags of grass cuttings !
The result of all of this is incredibly positive because he has agreed to getting a skip.
Don't get me wrong this is a man that is good and has been a tremendous support to me and that I will not forget. But he is a 'tomorrow' person and I am trying so very hard to become a 'today' person. So the work of life continues.
Have a good day.....TODAY !

Bala and TC77 good things to think about being a ‘Today’ person and needing a plan. I’m mostly decluttered downstairs after decorating it had to be a very long ruthless two full 10 hour day job. There was no other way I couldn’t put lots of crap back into my newly decorated empty spaces just some bill filing left. But now I’ve got covid and I’m in bed in the chaos beyond the stairs. So when not coughing or sleeping I’m looking at it.The trouble with this stuff is it’s emotional. Photos I don’t want to throw away Christmas and birthday cards from people I love some who are dead who will never write their name to me again. Clothes from when I was younger, slimmer that I wore for an occasion, ornaments and pictures not even mine but things from my mum’s flat that I grew up with.Any ideas for classy scrapbooks or boxes I may as well put what I keep where I can look at it or there’s no point. I don’t want to keep photos in a box upstairs anymore.DF by 2023 No 17 £1,644 /£6000 Total debt £18,000 at the start of DFW Journey. 201814TH JULY 2021 DEBT FREE now in control365 1p challenge No 4910

Put them in frames and make a wall of memories. Keep one thing from each person..If that's too little, keep a couple

You cn display pretty much anything, it doesn't have to be a photo frame. I'm not sure what good keeping clothes that used to fit you is worth, except as a reminder you are no longer young and slim. Living in the past is no good unless you're an antiques dealer
However, kimonos are one item of clothing that look good displayed on what amounts to broom handles, can you do something liek that with them?

or wait until a mannequin comes up for free and adorn it with your loved clothes. If you really work at it, it could end up being an art installation that you change every week. Make it fun....

Love the today person approach. I am so tomorrow I will! I need rooms decorating but still too much stuff but have found colour I want for 1 room. Taff and others love the idea of displaying photos and things that bring joy. Still have 2 boxes of stuff from work from April and waiting to find office (.not my home) to put it in. First some admin frogs . Take care x7

Thankyou bala and Mrs SD for congrats for DD. She has had a great month with getting a job too. Couldn't ask for more.
@accidentalglixch Loving the naming of the goldfish.
@Blackberrycurved. I am in great sympathy with you with having difficulty getting rid of stuff that belonged to loved ones. What great ideas from everyone to re use some of it. I still have some of my Dad's jewellery and a few things but most has gone now. My older brother had his false arm (I am not joking) which he mounted holding an axe on his wall. Sadly DB has disappeared now and I think he left the arm at the last place he lived as he was on the run!
I took a comfy wing backed chair to my SiL in Manchester today as hers was too low to get out of. I gave her a blanket as well. DH put up her grip bars for the bath shower plus we sorted a few more things for her.
Along with the blanket and some more sales online ( 8 this week) I am counting 1 large item and another bag.
Tomorrow I have a few small jobs plus continued work on the garden plot and house but I am going to take it steady.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor.
