Hiya.
Mothernerd I LOVE the idea of your ex gambolling.
These bugs are shockers at the moment, lockdowns have seemed to make us less hardy. Mr V ended up at an emergency GP appointment. (no, I don't know how either! I think they take men more seriously than women) He has antibiotics again. As a legacy of his rotten chest infection he has cellulitis in his legs.
MIL has been taken into hospital. She is "long term". Plenty to sort out at her house 60 miles away but not able to get there until Friday. I particularly want to put a lamp on a timer in the sitting room.
Mrs SD, can I come for focaccia, mozzarella , olives and tomatoes? Just my cup of tea.
Floriana ,good tradespeople are gold. My Plumber is only young and just started out by himself about 5 years ago. That's why he does risky things and nearly kills himself !!!!!!!! I have never found a carpenter to foster. I am very detail led. (fussy)
This morning we have turned the mattress. I will put all the bedding in the wash and then clean the windows.
Vascoda, I feel the same about reaching an end point. There will be a trickle of decluttering from now on.
I have Moravian star problems. I am at the point of abandoning it. I did however hand sew a couple of gold velvet Christmas stockings. Still using up the fabric from curtain shortening . Our stall made £200 at the Xmas fair. All my stuff sold out. We are having a coffee morning stall for the young lad with cancer next week with the remains and some extras like chocolate orange Rudophs.
Thank goodness the weather forecast has changed for us. Heavy snow has now reduced to sleet.

Vulpix, love to you.........
Hello lovely lot, I need help, advice etc to help me make a decision either way.
In debt and a self confessed hoarder. I came on here to tackle that but life had other ideas. So.....
Do I try to sell the clothes that are in good condition (but don't fit) or do I just gird my loins, pull my socks up, bite the bullet (you know where I am going) and give them to charity.
All ideas opinions welcome.

@balabooberlies I would try selling your surplus items as it would help with the debt situation and decluttering.9

@balabooberlies sell them. But what you can do if you think something will sell is to package them ready, write under flap what it is, then you just have address them when they're ready. If you have any designer gear, might be worth talking to a specialist. Or if you have somewhere to do it, do a stall...

@balabooberlies ... as other have suggested I would try and sell those in good condition and esp if new/nearly new possibly with labels or a well known make. I sold things that I liked less but because they were Phase 8 or Topshop (DDs), they sold. I know time consuming but with the dark and cold evenings. If there are things you're pretty sure won't sell or have stains etc then bag for the CS - most will take 'rags' things they can't sell and get money for these from a recycling firm. I know can be daunting too, and perhaps clear a space where you can relax and pile clutter away from this area.I've rearranged packaging - as haven't given hope of selling stuff - few bits thrown away - count as 2.Struggling to get rid of things, so can give advice but not follow it. Going to try and find 21 things to put away and if something goes out a bonus10

Thank you all

Bala, I am not a hoarder so have a different approach I think. I just don't like waste either money or resources. I would list the best things and bag up others for a Charity which means something to you. That way you are donating to charity and helping others on a tight budget. I would be realistic about what to charge for an item even if it is new. I sell a lot on FB but I sell much cheaper than other people. This means I have a quick turn over. My routine was to list about 5 things a week. Manageable for messages and collections. I do post but take paypal first. Hermes is cheaper. I gave up with ebay years ago. I recently got to the point with sales where anything under £5 went to the charity shop. If you have designer or evening wear use a dress agency. Also I would clear one room so you have somewhere as an Oasis and just have the things listed to hand. Once they have gone ,list some more. Eat that elephant one bite at a time. Oh, in the summer I do the odd car boot sale. Mostly sell everything at £1 or less. I get rid of A LOT of stuff that way. Clothes at a car boot sale really need to be on a clothes rail or no one will look at them. In the past I have been very poor and have always sold unwanted belongings, it has funded many Christmases, Birthdays, School trips etc.
Unexpected FB sale tonight of a massive faux plant in a massive pot in a massive box. Forgot it was listed. This has made a massive space in the pantry. I am still striding over the box of Christmas stuff from the shed. Soon. It's time will come.
Windows, mirrors, picture glass cleaned. Windows were filthy, we should have at least an extra hour of day light now.
I have started a patchwork cushion with the tweed and velvet off cuts. I can see it on the emergency Christmas seating garden bench in my minds eye.
I forgot to tell you, when i was at the Dentist he put a swab in my mouth and told me to "bite down. . . when I have moved my finger". I couldn't feel a thing hahahahaha.
